What's funny is I was shown the rabbit hole via this video too (I managed to pull off a 38.64% accuracy score on this chart a couple days back, the column swap sections are still pain), all cause I started talking with a friend about Soundodger+ (a rhythm bullet hell) and a level in it for a heavy glitch-type song called Gantz Graf, and he was like "Yo you should check this out on that note". Man, the places you can go...
Note - As of about a month or two back (editing this in in October 2021), I broke 60% on the chart!
I like how readable this is when not playing, but when playing everything gets fucked

What I find funny about this chart is that it canonically ends in the player's death? So even if, God forbid, you manage to FC it, you can never *really* win.

I absolutely love this DDR chart, purely from a narrative standpoint this is impressive. For anyone who doesn’t know about the plot of UKSRT8, the weird green haired anime gremlin is like a absolutely fucking deadly virus, and she’s absolutely fucking you up
So all of the weird effects here that you’re seeing? The screams that you hear? They’re all happening to the main character as he slowly, very painfully dies. Even if you’re not actually feeling what the MC feels, seeing all the effects, from the absolutely bass boosted music to the hazy and distant blurriness gives you a sense of how hard SHAME (the virus) is fucking up their body. And seeing it in that light, not trying to win but just to fight to survive? That’s some good ass visual storytelling
that's honestly why uksrt8 is my 2nd favourite: the storyline and narrative is amazing. uksrtx takes top though for the brilliant maps and especially the last stage where j0e is using his mouse to control the level, it's just genius in its own right.

Sorry for being 5 months late but I can answer your question. In order to read the abandon section you have to understand that the arrows moving up and the arrows moving down are meant for different players. They’re actually the same set of arrows. So just choose whichever side you want and follow ONLY the arrows moving in that direction.
Asriel809 you’re probably not gonna like this but. For the walking section you have to focus on the arrows themselves. Red ones seem to alternate between two different arrows and blue ones seem to stay one and then switch to another after 3 or 4 or so.
Still trying to figure out the pattern for when the green arrows are introduced, but still, focus on the arrows. Not the grey “bar” idk the actual term for it I’ve always just called it the bar.
