I love your box opening techniques
I was waiting for a can opener to do the last box 😂
Don’t own one. I open my cans with my teeth like a real man 😂
That's one way to open a box 🤣
Does it matter which side you jack the car up? Just thinking of car leaning and not filling up oil if it's leaning mate I've gotta do this to IRD today
The car should be level to get the correct oil quantity in. I had it sitting on axle stands.
@@garage_tales oh so you had an Axle stand in each corner?
@@sheffielduk3428 Yes, but also used a jack at the back to level it out as my driver has a bit of a slope.
Hello friends, I have a little problem. I have a Freelander 1 TD4 with BMW and I have a horrible sound in the area of the auxiliary belt and its tensioner. My surprise is that there is no place to work on the auxiliary belt and remove its tensioner.
Could someone tell me if there is any trick or procedure that could help me so that I do not have to remove the engine. We've been thinking about how to do it for days. Thank you very much
Hey there. Apologies for not being able to reply sooner. It was a friends car so not that familiar with it. Sorry about that 🙂
I have watched a good few Freelander 1 service videos and this seems to be the most thorough. I will ask why you didn't replace the crank case breather filter with the separator modification?
I have just purchased one, you don't happen to live near Glasgow? 😅
Top notch job!
Hey there. Thanks for your comment. That was a friends car, and needed quite a bit more done than what I filmed. The pcv system seemed to do it’s job, so you have to draw the line somewhere, otherwise you just keep pumping money into it :)
And no. I live down in Surrey :)
CAN ANYONE TELL ME WHERE THE PCV VALVE IS ON MY 2002 2.5 V6 GAS SE FREELANDER THANKS FRED
Hey there, not familiar with those engines, but the pcv must be built into the rocket cover.
Hi in front dif is going 75w90? And in rear 75w80?
Hi Patrick, sorry for the late reply. Te front Dif is in the gearbox which takes MTF oil. There is a bevel drive or IRD as it's called attached to the gearbox, and that takes 75W90 GL5. The rear differential takes 80w90 from memory, but I could be wrong. I'm sure you can find all the info in a service manual or LR forums :)
Thanks! All the best!
Hi do you service for customer as well or just for personal and family/friends please.
Just for family and friends. Thank! :)
@@garage_tales thanks
God bless you
Mine is L405 give me your opinion/advice done about 95000 miles and full Land Rover service. Do I need to replace differential oil I am not sure if it’s a done or not.
I’m pretty sure LR (and other manufacturers) claim it’s “sealed for life” and so it’s unlikely they ever changed yours. Oil does age and it gets messy in there, so it wouldn’t be a bad idea to change it. It’s pretty easy and cheap. Way cheaper than a new dif.
@@garage_tales So you think I can get done privately diff. oil change please .
just bought one of these but its just cranking and not starting just after replacing an injector Nozzle any one to help out?
Has it been primed properly?
@@garage_tales yes it has, and fuel is reaching the nozzles but still no starting
@@chingily23 Are the connections all good? Is the injector actually spraying?
@@garage_tales the fuel i reaching the nozzles but it seems there is no power reaching the nozzles.. what could be the issue?
What oil do most people use in these mate??
5w40 semi synthetic is the recommendation. What brand? Castrol would be nice, but any that meets the right spec will do. ACEA A3/B3 I think it is.
@@garage_tales yes I saw the Triple Qx brand is A3 spec, 5 - 40
@@garage_tales but that was fully synthetic
@@sheffielduk3428 May have been fully synthetic, but I doubt that's an issue. I needs to be semi synthetic at least.
Azerbaycan
Thanks 🙂
Why to open a simple box with power saw 😂😂...
Well…I wanted to use the chainsaw, but then I thought how harmful that 2 stroke smoke is for the environment. So I decided to use a cordless saw instead. I was saving the planet 😁

You did that on purpose😅
Yes. Of course. 100% deliberate 😁
Why !
Not a word to help knowledge seekers!
😡
Sorry. Don’t want to do too many car videos, but I think just seeing the video will help a bit :)
*Where is separator filter 🤣😂*
I’ll leave that for the new owner 🙂
@@garage_tales Hi just reading through years later, the driver's side rear wheel arch is behind the plastic inner liner or maybe accessible from underneath. it's a black plastic unit with a 2 winged? screw to drain the separator use a clear plastic pop bottle with the top cut off so you can see if water drains to the bottom. its all in a cradle that holds a fuel pump, a long fuel filter the separator and the hse has a short fuel pump for the diesel heater. ask me how i know - lol
@@TUMBLINJEST You found it 😁
@@garage_tales It hid for awhile but I won-lol
