- Being the underdog doesn’t make you a loser. At first, it looked as if everyone’s predictions were going to be accurate. Albus NoX fell to the ROX Tigers in a quick, bloody game that saw ROX’s AD carry, PraY, pick up 12 kills - as much as all of Albus NoX combined. The Tigers were favorites to make it to the Grand Finals, and everyone was confident that Albus NoX would meet their low expectations. But in just two days, Albus NoX blew those expectations away.
Two days later, Albus NoX made history.

Likkrit wild card speech is legendary!
Likkrit was right, 2016 was the year wildcards began to matter. This year's MSI and first two weeks of Worlds showed that.

Cheers Mate actually in 2015 pain gaming was already competitive in their group, had they beat fw in their second game against them in the group (it was a 50 min game) it would have made the last game against clg group deciding (if pain managed to get a win they would be the second ranked team in the group and if clg managed to win they would have a tie breaker match vs fw)

To be fair: Optimus also got tilted pretty hard by SoaZ constantly chasing him down in teamfights and just knowing exactly how to prevent him from escaping.
Considering Taiwan wasn't considered a major region in season 2, I think TPA taking season 2 championships was kind of a bigger underdog story.

To this day I do not feel sad about moscow5 loosing that bo3, or CLGEU for that matter. They took two incredible teams to their limits before loosing, it was great to see
I don't agree with that. Their victory can be refered as an upset, but even though they were not considered one of the top regions, they were the first outside of NA/EU to get their own server, and they didn't even had to play through the group stage, they can't be compared with wildcard teams that even have to play a preliminary tournament to see who gets the available spots at worlds
You have to give credit where credit is due to this team. They played some great games and proved that any team can do well even if you're not considered a favorite.
I loved them cause they make every game a down and dirty brawling bloodbath. They went up against some of the better teams in the world and they dragged them down into playing a game they weren't comfortable with and that worked. Sadly once out of groups no teams took them lightly anymore and they couldn't do what made them so successful in groups.
ANX was amazing to watch. They made 2016 Worlds interesting.
More importantly: They proved that the ROX Tigers were beatable. It literally changed the whole complexion of the rest of worlds for 2016.
Actual legends. Cannot forget them, they made a history.
This ANX roster gave me so much hype for GMB in play-ins, I was so disappointed that they couldn't deliver...
Even if Gigabyte Marines didn't make it out of groups, I think it's the best wildcard team that we've ever seen

Same goes to me. Havent played 1 game of league in like 6 months already. I switched to dota and no dont get me wrong but I have been playing moba games for 11 years now. Just trying to spice up the games that I play since I find dota more competetive but League is the best interms of tournaments since it is much more furnished.

Easily my favorite team of all time. S6 was my first league season, and just watching that team pull off crazy stuff at worlds was so awesome
This is probably, in my opinion, the catalyst that set teams like Misfits to shine. To play your own game in the face of beasts like SKT, like ROX Tigers and other Korean teams. Yes, they may not have gotten that far, but it proved that emulating 'The Korean Way' isn't always the best way.
I watched every game of theses guys last year I liked them so much I bought there hoodie and the icon sad to see that the team broke up after spring.

For many reasons. They lost aMiracle before spring split started and change organisation (ANX => М19), after that they cant found a way to play well and fail spring split of LCL at all. And after that Stejos burn out and leave M19 and join Gambit as toplaner with Kira as midlaner. Likkrit and Smurf with new players got 2nd place in LCL summer split.
I relent. Esports is a true sport. It is an artform like any other sport. I'll remember this for a long time. "Being an underdog doesn't mean being a loser." In any area of life. Thank you Albus Nox.

Floopsie not necessarily an underdog since GPL is considered a major region that time and there's still no "super region" since it's only season 2.

Likkrit was banned for 6 month from Ru Riot Games, Kira and PvPStejos(they in Gambit gaming) you will see on Mid Season invitational 2018 and Rift Rivals, Smurf play in M19 team and he got 4 place in LcL(but 4-place it mean that you will not see him on Rift Rivals and Mid Season 2018), aMiracle now play in League of applicants.(it is league lower than LcL)
