The bowl game was a joke and I think haters saying "see you got blown out by UGA proves it" doesn't even make sense. All of the good players except a vary few were gone. They didn't want to risk the game since many came back to win the Natty. I think it just angered FSU fans more with the whole "see..61-3" comment when it was a shell of a team. I am still livid at the lack of effort on defense, which reminds me of the Taggart years and the Harlan Barnett defenses of 4-5 years ago. DJ is surprisingly inept on offense and is not showing any spark or foot speed. This could very well be a 6-7 win team if they can't stop the run. With that said, this is probably the best analysis I have seen on an FSU football game! I will have to follow this guy.

Love me some college football. Saw all three amazing endings yesterday. FSU-GT was a fabulous way to begin the college football season. Amazingly tight game, came literally down to the final play, and two P4 schools going at it hammer and tongs. That was followed by Montana State's comeback from 17 down in the 4th quarter to beat New Mexico 35-31 (the second upset of the day) and then the day was capped by the fantastic SMU-Nevada game (another 4th quarter comeback, and SMU, unlike FSU, actually *got the stop they needed* defensively when Nevada got the ball with 5 minutes to go in the 4th up by a point: then SMU's offense got the game-winning TD with just 78 seconds left.) I hope this heralds another fantastic season of college football with upsets galore every week, a la 2007.
Matt u gotta understand football is changing. This is why Nick Saban hung it up. The days of these super teams being able to not get beaten are gone. Talent is spread throughout college now and not just on a couple teams due to NIL deals and a growing mindset of players wanting to go somewhere and play, not have to wait 3 years to touch the field. Bigger is not always better.
Dead on, not one of the big boys. Smaller school, smaller money, small school conference with less money that is really a basketball focused conference, has to deal with the richest biggest juggernaut sec school owning their state, can’t compete with the big boys in big markets now with NIL. Going to only get worse for fsu, truly amazing really that in their past they were able to compete as well as they did, probably one of the most consistent competitive smaller schools around.
If I'm not mistaken bama had a bad start last yr and was struggling to usf. But they was able to clean it up and make the playoffs. So it's a little early to call the season based on one game.

You have to attack the portal, but you still need to be in the top 10 in recruiting and have a high blue chip ratio.
