Funny story about the elephant consevation , i was there for my kem bina negara nd we arrived for an elephat wedding, got some free nasi minyak. It was when i was 17. Now i am 43.
Steve... Malaysia food is delicious but some of them are acquired taste. Please be easy on mom Steve... go slowly. Experience the milder one first before going on the strong one. The patin tempoyak is a bit too soon imho. I'm kind of feeling pity for mom. I want her to enjoy Malaysia to the fullest. Please don't spoil it by making her experiencing everything weird (for her) too fast. Luv your mom.
Mdm. Diane, you don't have to worry about Steve's driving. If Steve can drive in Pakistan, it's absolutely easy peasy for him to drive in KL/Malaysia. Oh wow, those experiences at the Elephant Santuary, Malaysian meal of ikan patin tempoyak and glamping were indeed magical and a memory to be treasured by your mom and dad. It's indeed wonderful to see your parents having a fun time. Great job, Steve lvana !

❤❤❤ wow..nice vlog, when malaysia is steve and ivana second home..sorry i cant accompany you guys because i cant get a leave also when we travel together it was during the mco ppn
Absolutely epic seeing mom and dad living the life and going on the trip of their lifetime with Ivana and Steve! Loved every moment, dad's a natural elephant whisperer and mom is loved by the camera. And that tree is out of this world.
I can empathise with your mom about spicy food. Thirty years ago, I came to Singapore and Malaysia and found out that nearly every food was spicy. In Malaysia especially, the fish or meat is coated with chilli and the gravy is just burning in my throat and stomach. A few times, I missed my meals as everything was too spicy for me. But that’s the way their food is and they love it. I can’t survive with spicy foods and Malaysians can’t survive with non spicy food either. It was the same experience in Singapore but I have learned how to order my food. “Not spicy, please.” New subscriber here. 😊
Thats good..bcoz in your country there in no thick forest like in mlysia. Tropical rain forest in mlysia esp in Sabah..Sarawak Pahang..Perak etc are one of the oldest in the world. Yes we grow palm oit trees n rubber etc..but we do not touch..no one can touch the forest reserved areas..whc is very large. Hv a nice adventure guys..
There are many wild elephant trails in Malaysia.. one of the famous trails is at the Grik-Jeli Highway. If you are lucky, you have to stop when the elephants are crossing the road.😅😅
Your mom is a good sport even though you've put her through some culture shock. I enjoyed such trip in my younger days but it would be torture if I do it now!
The moment Dianne asked if she could add some gravy to the plate of rice, I was thinking oh nooo it will be spicy for her! Poor Dianne...Go easy on her guys. Love your Dad Steve! He's a sweetie❤
Wonderful adventure for your parents Steve n Ivana... 1,000 loke for this GREAT Adventure video at Pahang..My Father country side.. Alhamdullilah Syukur sgt Indah nya Malaysia ku.. Subhanallah...
Tempoyak is fermented durian so the taste is quite different from fresh durian. My daughter hates durian but she loves eating ikan patin masak tempoyak.
Hi Steve, I used to stay in Niagara Falls for 1 year, in 1982. I miss that beautiful place and my foster family there, The Stoetzel Family, l graduated my highschool at NFCVI.
12:16 - Tempoyak is made from Durian fruit filling. The contents of this durian are separated from the seeds and added with a little salt and kept fermented at room temperature for three to five days. Another version of Tempoyak is Sambal Tempoyak (Spicy Tempoyak).
😂😂😂👏🏻👏🏼👏🏿 Good job Steveana for being the Tour guide for Mom & Dad! Ok lah, you guys are Malaysian already! 🤭 Such an adventurous trip but what i like most is 12:57 Your mom's facial expression changed into 🥵🥵🔥🔥😅😂🤣🍛 She'll remember that for life! 😅 You guys were pro! 👍🏻 Normally when the food is spicy, Best to drink warm water instead of ice water. It cools down the spiciness faster. Or munch some salted fish, if any available. 👍🏻 It'll instantly dissipate the spiciness in the tongue! Seriously, try it next time. 😉🤜🏻🤛🏻🚗💨
You guys are awesome! But!!! Your mom is the star of the show! Your dad is chill like me. Keep traveling with your parents and include your in-laws next time… Cheers from Washington, DC. -Pete
I remember when i went to the national park in the 90s. There was no road goin up the river, boats were the only transportation goin up n down the river. But, the rivers there were crystal clear, very much different comparing now...
#JetFam Your continuos use of the Palmeiras and Vasco shirts got me wondering: has anyone ever mistaken you for a Brazilian during your travels? I know if I ever saw someone walking around in that kind of shirt abroad I'd assume they were Brazilian.
What all does one need to rent a car in ML besides $22 a day. Also the name of the company. Great road trip! Cool to see the parents enjoying & living in the vlog.
