Leidy's Comb Jelly

Comb jellies are found in coastal waters from Cape Cod to Carolinas and are invasive to the Black Sea. These jellies are translucent but refract sunlight, appearing to have rainbows running down their bodies. They can also make their own light (bioluminescence), flashing when disturbed.

The video he was talking about is called "Alien looking creature transforming near ocean floor at over 3700 feet"
the camera did zoom out during it's transformation as he explained, unfortunately it was killed at the end

Been waiting my whole life to witness a bioluminescent creature. Finally saw one last night in the waters of Chincoteague island! I believe it was one of these. It appeared at a very special moment for me as well. It's blue glow will be a fond memory for me. :-)
