This is disgusting. They're giving you worthless rewards in exchange for huge amounts of priceless data they need to make their metaverse.
This feature isn't fun in any way and has no other purpose than collecting data about locations around the world to become one of the leading metaverse makers. Shame on them for advertising their data collecting schemes as "new features". Heck, the whole Pokémon GO game exists only to collect location data to sell to advertisers. This scanning feature is too much, they are exploiting their huge player base instead of doing the work themselves.

@@smilemiles2384 "At least we got something"? This is a weak update/feature and if we let them get away with BS updates, they'll keep doing it. This was done to help line their pockets for FREE and without lifting a finger themselves to collect the data. Google Maps has excellent street views to look at. They can use those instead of trying to shove the player base down a hole and force them to do the work they want for free.

This cash grab crap from Niantic is shameful. They are putting EVERYTHING good/decent behind payments like raid passes, hatching eggs or special researches.
Am i the only one that’s getting “Win a Raid” and or “Win a raid in under 60 seconds”? It’s almost as if Niantic wants you to buy raid passes.

I only scan for poffins. I delete pokeballs anyway thanks to bad catch rate of most pokemon. There isn't enough incentive to do free labour for a money hungry company like Niantic, especially after the lure module box scam. However, thanks for the information

It will be funny when people scan gyms which are not there but I managed to make gyms using tricks! I made a pokestop in my house by making a fake sign.

@@mememajor there is a small park behind my house I bought a sign and then put it up and added it in game. Got a stop in my garden and a new gym down the street.

A short verison of how to power them up. DONT. There trying to get you collect data for them for game development. Those people make 80 dollars and up per hour. There asking you to do it for free.

It dont work bc when you click on it on the gym it tells you to take a pic or use an exsisting one an everytime i try to use an exsisting pic i get booted off the damn game granted i dont have a damn iphone an i never will bc iphones suck an if i try it on a stop ill get booted off the game anyways so its fucking pointless to me smh
