Take note. This is how a documentary should be done on urban exploration with maps, narration, and video. Well done.

I served at RAF Sculthorpe in the control tower in April,-May 1982. Lovely country, friendly folks in nearby Fakenham.
When I was there, RAF Sculthorpe was maintained to be used in time of war with the Warsaw Pact. The ATC equipment was antique, dating from the 1960's.
The barracks were run down, but livable. Foreigner belted down the hallway at full blast.
    East Anglia is lovely!

Apologies. This video was filmed just over 3 years ago now. Many things have been learnt since the script was written. If you have any suggestions for corrections or information to share, please comment or message me. I'm hoping that one day I can compile a much better quality video of Sculthorpe.

Very interesting. Must feel very eerie going into the old buildings.

Looks a lot worse now, especially as a lot of people with kids moved in to Wicken Green in the last few years. The vandalism has taken it's toll. Few buildings have even one unbroken window.

Thanks for telling me... Interesting stuff- I hope to be able to get some footage of it!
It'll be like and old airship floating about a mile up above the airbase!

Do away with the background music and take the reverb of your mike it kills the video that looks really interesting

It was true. It was intended to be used for an experiment which would have seen a tethered "airship" style balloon hovering above the airfield spraying chemicals into the air. Does anybody know why this hasn't happened yet?
