Exploring Xian, China : Beyond the TerraCotta Warriors

- Come with me as I explore the things to do in Xian. Xian is the capital of Shaanxi province. Home of the famed Terracotta Warriors! But there's so much more things to do in Xian. I didn't realise that here you can also hike Mount HuaShan, the most dangerous hike in the world! It's one of the craziest things I've done but so worth it. There's also the Yellow River, Hukou Waterfalls, the Ancient Walled City of Xian, Muslim Quarter, and so much more. Xian is definitely the place to go in China for ancient history and adventure.

Before I die China is really the only place I want to see I’ve been fascinated since I was a boy
I was addicted to the stewed pork burger. Absolutely delicious. The Muslim quarter was interesting and fun. I can’t wait to go back. No cliff climbing for me though.
My wife is from Xi’an, I love China, especially Xi’an and Guilin.
Jus arrived from a 10 days travel to China, started in Beijing, then Xian and end it in Shanghai....Xian is one of those places you could never forget, jaw dropping and so colorfull at night, just amazing.
considering a day trip from Beijing to Xian, would you recomend it or would i not get to explore the properly in a day ?
@@Bown2crusher I would give it 2. For me one of the best places was the square in front of the Giant Wild Goose Pagoda. You will. Love that place, specially at Night, with all. The lights and different activities they do (some classical chinese dance and singing). You also need to go to the Muslim Quarter.
Xi'an is definitely worth a visit!
a visit? dayum. I've lived in Xi'an for almost 20 years now...
i just got back from China a couple of weeks ago. Loved it! Didnt go ti Xi'an but definately next time, next year. Wont be dangling off no cliff like that though! no way.
I stayed in Xi’an for 4 days earlier this year. Fabulous city - and this clip makes me want to go back for more!
Xi'an retained the culture of the Tang Dynasty ,which is the most powerful Dynasty in China。If you want to see that, please take the metro subway (line 4) to the “ Big Wild Goose Pagoda”(Da-yan-ta), walk south all the way to Qu-jiang south lake(nan-hu),On the way you will pass the "Furong Garden of the Great Tang Dynasty", which is a must-go scenic spot, able to experience the architecture, art and culture of the Tang Dynasty.
Well done! Glad I saw your video. Planning my trip now! Thanks so much!
I loved every second of this. Well done. Luv your sub

Tm的一群中国人在这用英文评论交流。。。
Yes, I am.
To build an entire army of over 8,000 and all the rest, just to bury them . . . That is FAITH beyond imagination ! Amazing Art and Dedication.
This video is the first of your video I watched. Somehow I was attracted the documentary style of your presentation. Well done!
Thanks so much! I'll try to make more videos of the style :)

xi an is so wonderful place .everyone should be come travel .
Watching this video reminds me when i visited Xi'an. I do like to visit agin i have lots of fun.
The mountain has for centuries been deemed as one of China's five sacred mountains, along with Mt. Hengshan in North China's Shanxi, Mt. Songshan in Central China's Henan, Mt. Taishan in East China's Shandong, and another Mt. Hengshan in Central China's Hunan province.
In ancient China, emperors and celebrities frequented the mountain to make sacrifice to their ancestors, making it all the more holy and awe-inspiring.

I lived in Xian for 4 years, your video just brought many of my greatest memories back. Thank you, Jean.
Wished I have seen this video before going to Xi'an. After seeing some of your adventures I could see myself going back for a second visit. Thanks for a great video.
Thanks for your comment! Maybe its a good reason for you to return to Xian! I first went to Xian about 17 years ago and only went to see the Terracotta soldiers. Im glad I went for the 2nd time!
+Jean Holy Smithereens I will definitely return to Xi'an at some point. But plan to visit some other parts of China before that. Hoping to go local and get away from the urban and into the rural.
Fantastic video, very nice video. All should watch.
Thank you!
Thanks a lot for sharing! Also, precious Vegetarian info! :D
You're very welcome Andre! Yes, i loved that there were lots and LOTS of eggplant and mushroom. :)

Xi'an is an amazing city and it's amongst the best cities in China or even the world . I assure you that you will be surprised when you visit!
Hey! no Xi'an is great! I just wish it's mountains were free like the ones in Hong Kong so that we can easily or freely go for hiking. I used to go to Cui Hua Shan but it costed me 35 yuan upon entrance. Anyway, Xi'an is amazing!
@@DrBilalHussain drive a car into the qinling mountain its a damn big mountain and for free.
hk mountain is beautiful but very small. more like a hill.
anyway. glad you enjoyed the city!
@@hongkong670 Indeed it is a big mountain. But like HK does it have hiking trails? Because I would love to go there with my family and I would not want trouble in seeing some wild animals (especially the dangerous ones). So far in HK, It's been safe. But I am not sure about Qinling mountain. Please let me know. Also, if there is any website having information on those trails, I would be grateful if you share it too.
Thank you :)
Great vid!

Great intro for first timers heading to Xi'an. What are the names of the places you ate at? The noodles and the Chinese Hamburger looked fantastic.
love this video!
Thank you :)
Great video and you’re a beauty 💐
Thanks. I am from Nepal and stayed in Xi'an from 1999 to 2006. So many friends and memories...I must go back one day. I love China.

Jean Holy Smithereens Xi'an is SUPERB and it's packed with a whole lot of history!! The food there is a must try😻😻 I did a vlog on it do check it out too☺️
2:30 Mount Hua hike is so scary! Luckily you uploaded this video & I don't need to go there. Otherwise I could get a heart attack! I'm always fascinated when I think about TerraCotta Warriors. I also think the same, they might more beneath it or somewhere else. I wonder if you record more places & uploaded longer version. Lovely video. Thanks for sharing.

Theres The Tomb of Qin Shi Huang (First Emperor of China) beneath them. Untouched. They said the tomb is filled with Mercury rivers. Wish theyd excavate it one day.

Welcome to my hometown!
Xi’an is a great city and it is worth the visit! I might return again one day...
I VISITED XI'AN IN 2012 AND IT IS AMAZING CITY. I WISH TO VISIT THE TERRACOTTA WARRIORS SITE AGAIN.

谢!谢!
I'm traveling to Xi'an tmr
Good video and advice. I'll be going to Xian on May next year.
Is it easy to navigate around Xian as a first timer?
Thank you and apologies for the late reply. We took cabs/ taxis going around. I suggest you ask your hotel / accommodation how to say certain places in Mandarin. And always keep a calling card with address of your accommodation to get back. Have a great trip!
Incredible history.. Thoroughly enjoyed. Wow! Those mountain peaks. I've done lot's of climbing in the UK, & The Caribbean but have never seen peaks as dangerous as that. Jean you are living life on the edge and have serious guts. What a brave and adventurous woman. The yellow river looks awesome.. What a powerful force of nature. Love your narrating, very clear and concise speech. love the way you captured that delicious looking food. Wow! You have wetted my appetite for food. At 5min 18sec into video that food is a breath taking sight. What a tease LOL. Incredible video. Love the way you put this together. You really know how to travel.. Laura and I are off on a huge venture to Bali, Australia, New Zealand & Thailand. Just had my second Rabies injection and it has made me really ill.. Thanks for sharing. Tony & Laura xx
Hi Tony! Thanks for the visit and I'm glad you enjoyed this clip. I gotta admit climbing Mt Hua Shan was one of the craziest and probably most reckless things I've done. The lack of regulations in that climb (and actually surviving it) is what makes it truly memorable haha :) Oh the food! Lots of noodles and if you love spice, Shaanxi is great for it! I'm so glad you and Laura are off to this part of the world! That's an exciting itinerary. Relaxation , nature and adventure combined :)
What a adventure climbing that mountain. We are sky diving to. I've done it before but it's Laura's first time jumping out of a plane
that' amazing
Nice job on the video. And this from someone who does videos!
Thanks so much :)

Why is it my recommended video, especially I have traveled there recently.
I love Xian
As a history geek its been my long time dream to visit Xian, the ancient capital of Han and Tang Dynasties. 2:34 yeah i think ill past that. 😅
Good
There's a muslim quarter there but very few people know that X'ian used to be Chang'An, the capital of the Tang dynasty. It was a cosmopolitan city where Persians, Muslims, Jews, Christians, Hindus and people from different places, religion, and creed. The city attracted a lot of merchants, scholars, artists from Middle East, South Asia, etc. Islam was very dominant during the 7th century AD, about the same time of Tang Dynasty.
Huashan is awesome
谢谢亲爱的
I have been in xian
there are many delicious foods . Do you want to try?
the plank was built by taoists to cultivate spirit ,so hard imagine how they make it hundreds yeays ago
Going up on our site + asiareport.com via twitter handle @asiareportcom ! Thanks for making us smile here. We thought that was worth a share for anyone. The world loves Xian!
old Turk city. we saw there. Thank you.
Just loved Xi'an one day we will get back again
Holy shit that farmer at the Terracotta warriors that you met was completely different to the farmer that i met....
That's hilarious. The story is a little sketchy anyway, as far as how they were found, but I'm always skeptical. Anyway I went there in 2015!
As an xi‘an local resident, that is a good place to living in.
Nice content. New subscriber here fr davao city
How to get there to that mountain which is 2 hours away.???
nah these are just common touristic places that people usually go. The best way to go is know ing someone super local so he/she would take you to see some very unique spots.
I am an indian and i'm living in ningbo. Its a great place and the girls are very beautiful in china
It's my Hometown.
welcom india.nice
I have been to the Hua mountain plank 30 years ago and there were no any protections what so over, not even wires! and the views are absolutely gorgeous. Xi'an held the capital of the most important dynasties in Chinese history, han, tang, just to name a few, unparalleled by any other city in China, you will have a good time in Xi'an!
Pls, give me name first sound music
0:28 WOW, be careful grandpa.
Wow! A video on Xian that is basically identical to all the OTHER CZcams videos on Xian! Brilliant!
I have an extreme fear of heights I felt scared I’m not even there 😂
Hi! What is the best way you recommend to get tickets to see the Terracotta Warriors?
