I just put the same set up in my 70 firebird, and i noticed the same thing, it rides very stiff, cruising around to the shows on the weekends on bumpy crapy roads really sucks ass, im putting some extra weight in the trunk and try to keep a full tank of gas to help break in new leaf springs, shocks, caltracks.
them springs is just what you needed for that big block power level, to hold them torque numberz,, down. i like the flat black, it makes it look fast and no non-seance like that build it self. you could shoot it with a flat black with sealer in the primer it will look primer but last 4 years with no rusting damage. but if you make it a green machine it will look great also, its a awesome car, simple American muscle recipe, like a yenco nova back in the day,, better even you got a lot more motor in there today then stock BB.
Great into as usual 👍 Yeah I might wait for the paint right now your not getting pissed off if something happens once paint is on it every little thing is gonna break your heart I say once you hit the number your after then go for the paint 👍 Green is different and would look sweet either way the car is bad ass 👍
caltraccs work great , now for some afco bushings for the A arms so the front will raise quicker and transfer the weight to the rear and some QA1's front and rear IMHO
You car looks good. How do you like the Calvert Split Mono Leafs? I am looking to order a full rear just as you did. I think my car has two inch drop spindles on the front. Do you think the one inch drop rear leafs and the one inch blocks will look okay on my car? Also is there a center bolt that passes through the center of the 1" drop blocks into the rear perches to hold everything together? Have you launched your car hard yet with your setup? My motor makes about 625 horsepower and I do not want rear end rotation issues with the 1" drop blocks. Do you think I will have any concerns?
What did you use to attach the bottom of the shocks to the caltrac? My 69 had a kind of a slot with 2 sides that the shock fit into and then bolted through with a single bolt. The caltrac only has a single eyelet on it. I'm using the Calvert shocks. Did you use a different kind of shock stud? Love your channel. My Nova is primer gray and I have begun a slow transformation LOL. Started with the shocks because the old air shocks went bad. Figured I would just caltrac it now and eventually have the engine to need them. Thanks Julius
Great job brother!!! I've been wanting to order a set. As far as color I like the flat black look it's nasty looking!!!!! But if I was going to paint it I would paint it the same color as your other nova!!! and then you'd have a Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde !!!!! LOL!!! Cheers brother
ss396rat LOL!!! You'd really confuse a lot of people!!! and I'd wrap it!! Not paint it!!! much cheaper and your not stuck with the paint!!! I wrapped my Hell Cat!! It looks great!!!
are you sure that's a 2in drop in the back?? 72 is 2in all the way around and my tires tuck up almost to the rim in the back makes it a pain in the @ss to get the tires on and off but looks good lol and in the front I have to put a little jack under the frame just so I can get my floor jack under it again a pain but can't beat the look of it
1 inch drop leaf springs plus 1 inch lowering block. car was lower with the stock springs and 1 inch lowering block. when you change tires jack it up on the frame not the rear end, it makes getting the rear wheels off easier
When I take my back tires out I have to Jack the ass end up put stands under the frame and let the rear end sag and still let air out of the tires just to wiggle them out 😀
Yeah it's a little crazy but the look of it is awesome everybody loves it looks aggressive. And when it's parked next to a stock Nova it makes my car look like a baby for some reason
Sweet ride!!! Love the new stance and thanks for the in depth install. Great info. I wondered how those springs rode.
Awesome, can't wait to get mine going.
awesome bro love the car as it is great job!! tons of inspiration for my nova when times get hard👍
BASED# TREVIÑO thanks bro keep it wrenching

I like the black primer, but if you like green then look at Pontiac's Verdoro Green. My '68 Firebird is this color. I like it.

Your setup is sick. I’m looking to get the Drag Pack from POL. How do theses perform on the street as a daily?

What leaf spring shock mount plate are you using with the split mono leaf and for your shock to clear the rims?
Thinking about getting these springs. Is the ride really that stiff? How do they compare to a 5 leaf spring? Thanks. Great video
I vote to get the body work straight and then Vinyl wrap it! Cheaper.
hueroski sounds good
What shock plates do you have? My stock ones hit the bottom of my rim
What's the advantage of having a split mono leaf vs solid mono or multi leaf?
How do these handle corners and daily freeway driving?
I gotta raise mine up smell rubber on the tires
did you do front disc brakes. I was hoping I could do disc in front and keep rear stock with a 454 74 nova

Where do you find a 15x8 with a 5.5 backspace steel wheel. Having a hard time finding one with that backspace.

Would you ever consider selling this? I'm interested. And yes, I'm serious
Rob Leone I would lose a ton of money if I sold it
no worries. Love the car.
Are mono leafs better then multi leaf?
Yes
@@ss396rat how exactly? Cause i have a 71 and i think its a multi
@@209chevymon for one if you trying to race cal tracs wont work
@@ss396rat so no difference structurally just the fact that you cant mount cal tracs with multi leafs?
@@209chevymon never did any research on it, the racers I know use mono
Fix the body work and line everything up before you paint it
fuck paint....go lower!
leave the paint alone
