I hope you like this weeks video! I know it's a bit different from my normal type of video, but I had a ton of fun making it, so I hope you enjoy it! I hope I shed some light on what chunky knit blankets were the best for the money! Really appreciate this. Have just started making chunky blankets for fun and for gifts Regardless of the yarn costs I’ve not seen a store blanket close to a truly well made diy one with good yarn. Happily clicked on your link to purchase five skeins of the Michaels yarn. They have a twenty off fifty purchase now and are on sale for only 25 a skein. I did three orders for buy online pick up in store purchases so I paid only $90 for six skeins. Really thrilled with the price. So again much appreciation!

Great video! Looking fwd to your DIY machine washable chunky knit blanket tutorial (say that 5 times! Lol), as that is EXACTLY what I have been trying to find info on! FYI, I did find the Loops & Threads Wild & Free yarn, as well as other brands who make comparable yarn (I think the Wild & Free has been discontinued tho). This type of yarn is machine washable but it doesn’t have that wool look to it at all.
Im still loving your blanket and it by far outstrips the shop purchased to be honest they looked skimpy compared to your's ! Thank you for sharing how to make it , So its a homemade Im going for .

I absolutely love your videos, not to mention your humor. You are quick-witted AND talented with the ability to stay on point, which for me: "Ms. Attention Span of a Squirrel" makes your videos not only very entertaining but informative. So my question is if one were to make a chunky blanket and wanted to use yarn that IS machine washable what do you suggest? I don't want to go to the trouble of making a blanket whether it be for me or someone else and having it be functional and used/loved, but only hand washable. Personally I know if I were given a gift that had to be hand washed and it were something large like a blanket verses a small blouse or sweater, I probably would hardly ever use it. I'm thinking maybe I should purchase some inexpensive yarn FIRST and make a VERY SMALL 'blanket', you know, maybe the size of a washcloth, just in case Ms Squirrel gets distracted and then her poor small little squirrel brain is unable to even grasp the concept before I delve into the BIG CHUNKY category. However I still would love any suggestions of types of yarn that are washable and that maybe don't shed as much. Thanks again sweetie for such an awesome tutorial!

I couldn't have any of them because my kids would mess them up and i couldnt wash them except by hand LOL. The one you made is my favorite though! Btw i love your tree in the background. Ok, you aren't allowed to say "CHUNK" again until 2019!! ;-)
I believe all of them shed horribly. I had one from Michaels and it fell apart within a month of use.
