This microwave has many good things and many bad things about it. In this video I presented as many facts as I could but you must ultimately decide if it is right for you. I paid $119 + tax on sale.

Your review is awesome!
Personally, I think this model is great. It has some features I've never had on previous, larger, more expensive ovens, like Keep Warm, Beverage, and the ability to stop the beep. With the beeps on, the beeps for multi-stage cooking are thoughfully set up-the timer will beep twice at the end of cooking time (the beginning of standing time) then beep five times when standing time is done.
I find the manual clear and carefully worded, with lots of illustrations, and I regard the defrost procedure you demoed so well as a complete success. The fact that edges of the meat weren't cooked and hardened is huge (this was ALWAYS the case with older, non-Inverter ovens) and the relatively small still-frozen chunk could easily be incorpoated into the next step in the food prep. (Let's remember, it's an electical appliance, not a Genii or a magic wand.) It's far prefereable to thawing at room temp (uneven, inexact, and unsafe) or in the fridge for two days. Last - couldn't the ground beef defrost and stand times been programmed together instead of the stand time being entered manually in a separate step at 17:45?
I was hoping the defrost would be a little better in 2023. You're right I was expecting a little "magic" like beam forming or sensors. I didn't see a way to enter the standing time while starting the defrost mode, iirc it even said to use the timer in the manual.
I wish the button selections were illuminated and I wish the cook/start and clear buttons were both larger.
What is the interior made of. I have one bought at Costco years ago still works but bubble up on top says starting to rust
Yeah the real advantage with the inverter, as mentioned, is that it doesn't cycle on/off but actually runs the magnetron at lower power - very useful for cooking/re-heating things that tend to go BOOM on a non-inverter when they get blasted with full power.
The "Quick 30" thing irritates me as well though.
I ended up returning the microwave since it made weird crackling noises while on generator power. I got a cheapo magic chef that has express cook settings where you literally just hit 30 sec and it instantly runs... Or you press 1 for 1 minute, 2 for 2 minutes, etc. I'm kind of glad the generator didn't like it.
Thanks for the in-depth review.
Delay Start might be useful to coordinate finish time with other food being prepared at the stove or oven, or to have melted ingredients like butter or chocolate ready at a certain point in recipe preparation.
The 1,200 Watts is a measure of cooking power. Power consumption by this model is rated at12 Amps, 1,400 W.
The baked potato demo could use some voice over-not sure what it showed.
Thank you for the reply. I never thought about the need to sync up warming the food, that makes sense. The potato test was supposed to show the heat penetration, since the box claimed to heat more evenly due to the inverter technology.
Mine had a sticker that said remove film and I took the sticker off and it left a little tear and what I think is the film. It doesn’t look like it’s easy to pull off and I’m worried I’ll ruin the microwave. Did yours have a film to remove over the Numbers area?
There's still a film under the sticker.
You can remove it now or just wait for it to loosen up over time, there's no harm in leaving it on.
What do you do for first time use? My smells funny. And I don’t see anything in the owners manual about it. What was the first thing u out “cooked”?
Yeah mine smelled a little plasticy, it went away though. I used it normally, I think I cooked TV dinners and popcorn immediately.
I just purchased one of these at Costco, I hope it turns out to be a good one.
Where do you live that the power goes off 4X or so a week ?
American test kitchen said inverter tech wasn't any big deal but I find it's a major big deal. Panasonic microwaves is a brand I've grown to like. This is replacing 9 year old Panasonic whose roof has started to rot out.
I got mines from Walmart for 55 dollars and it’s not working or hard to work
Was here to see how to open the door. You never do it lol
Mines not heating
microwave always issue is overcooked and dry, look likes Panasonic didn’t have this problem
