    Thank you for sharing your experience and your knowledge. That's really interesting. I would love to know a little bit more about budgets for all these operations. Is the business really profitable aside the fact that's it's might be really exciting to see and experience the growing and processing what Mother Earth gives to us as a present ? BTW congratulations for your determination.

      @cacaocultureph  Před 2 lety +1

      Thanks CD for supporting the channel. Profitability depends on how the business is done and managed. No farm is the same and no one business is the same. So it is always difficult for me to say that cacao is profitable for everyone who would want to go into it. On the farming side, managed properly, will do well at 5ha above. We balance things out with production and marketing of chocolates.

    Clarification lang po, sa isa nyo pong video (How to start a cacao farm) sinabi nyo po doon na ang elevation is between 300 to 1200 meters above see level. Tapos dito sabi nyo 600 to 800 ft. Masyado malaki po ang difference. Which one is correct? Im Planning to start a cacao farm in the near future and start doing my research. Your videos are very informative. Thanks

      @cacaocultureph  Před 2 lety +1

      Hi JR thanks for your question😊 marami kasi nag ask sa amin if their farms pwede ba taniman ng cacao. The 300-1200 range ay areas na pwede. It can be planted, it will grow. The 600-800 is the sweet spot where studies have shown a more productive output based only on area location.
      Maraming factors talaga but if we only take into account the location the 600-800 is the ideal.

    Hi! Curious local chocolate fan here. What do you to promote your local chocolate to Filipinos? I get that foreigners love our exports but why do a lot Filipinos still have this notion that imported chocolate is quality chocolate while locally processed chocolate are deemed cheap and lack premium flavor. It sucks to think that they are missing out on a gem that is THE FILIPINO CHOCOLATE.

    • @cacaocultureph
      @cacaocultureph  Před 2 lety +2

      Advertising and marketing has locked our consumer minds to see imported chocolates are more premium, and our pasalubong culture of family coming home bringing imported chocolates compounds that notion.
      All we can do is level up our products, market them and build a local fan base. We also promote a reverse pasalubong where we bring our local chocolates out of the country as well as gifts😊

    Hi Sir Ken and Mam Shiela. Ask ko lang po bakit kaya nagkaroon ng black mold on the 3rd day of fermentation ng cacao beans? Estimate ko more than 1kilo of beans lang po un and ginawa ko po fermentation sa basket. Binalot sa dahon ng saging at binalot pa uli sa towel. Nakaka hinayang. Pwede pa po kaya masave un? Thanks and stay safe. God bless.

    • @cacaocultureph
      @cacaocultureph  Před 3 lety +2

      Sir Ervin, thank you sa pagsubaybay sa aming channel and sa pagpanuod ng mga videos. I have not encountered that issue kaya di po kami makapag recommend kung ano gagawin to salvage it. Sa proceso ng fermentation may point na need po mag drip out ng excess water baka lang po yung towel sucked up the water kaya damp kaya nag develop ng molds. Banana leaves is enough na po siguro for your next experiment. Wag po kayo madismaya, marami pong trial and error na mangyayari.
      Good Luck po sa inyong cacao journey.

    Question: i fermented the seeds about 7 nuts, when i chked in the 4th day, there were white worms. Is this normal or i should throw them?

    • @cacaocultureph
      @cacaocultureph  Před 2 lety +1

      Hi Cristy, i am not sure why this happened but this is not normal. 7 pods of cacao is not enough for fermentation. Volume needs to be big enough to generate heat up to 50 degrees C

    Sa cacao farming po. Ilang buwan or taon ang hihintayin po natin bago po tayo makaharvest sa grafted at hindi grafted?

    • @cacaocultureph
      @cacaocultureph  Před 3 lety +2

      Typically nasa 2.5 years ang start pag bunga ng cacao tree mula sa seedling. However, mas malaki po ang factor ng farm management, proper fertilization and conditions para magbunga ng ganyan time or even mas maaga.
      Ang pagiging grafted ng isang cacao seedling ay nakakatulong na mas malaki ang probabilidad na maganda ang tubo o ang lahi ng cacao tree pero nasa pag aalaga at farm conditions po ninyo kung bakit pwedeng mapaaga ang pagbungga nito.
      Sana po nakatulong kami sa inyo maam Jarissa. Salamat sa patuloy na suporta sa aming munting channel dito sa CZcams.
