The wait is finally over! DELAIN, the brainchild of keyboardist, founder and main songwriter Martijn Westerholt, returns with full power, presenting themselves with a new lineup featuring the terrific Diana Leah as their next singer! Her powerful, heart-wrenching voice fits perfectly with the band's style and adds a new strength to their sound. Rejoining the fold and bolstering the band’s continuity are original guitarist Ronald Landa and original drummer Sander Zoer, while new members Diana and bassist Ludovico Cioffi continue the evolution of the band’s sound. The multi million-streaming leading Symphonic Metal outfit sets off into their next era, creating the perfect symbiosis of tested strengths and new influences.
The band's new single, “The Quest and the Curse”, implements this in an impressive manner. Trademark bombastic riffs, lush orchestrations, elements from film music, metal, pop, electronic, and much more mark an amalgamation of the old and new, and build the next chapter of the band's history.

Holy shit!! Came back to Delain after so long, got saddened after hearing about Charlotte leaving, decided to check out the video anyway and I'M. COMPLETELY. SOLD. This is just like when Nightwish came back with Floor. The new singer is PERFECT! Hi Diana!!!
Charlotte is missed for sure, she was integral to Delain's unique sound in a wave of symphonic metal bands. However, I agree, Diana is a fine vocalist in her own right and they couldn't have made a better choice. I expect the band to get even heavier over time, with tinges of Lacuna Coil where we have soaring, high, clean vocals by one singer and then growling vocals done by another. When done right, it's beautiful. I'm glad Delain is back.
This is seriously excellent, Diana Leah is a solid vocalist and the growling vocals remind me of Andrea Ferro from Lacuna Coil. That's a compliment. I like this, I'm glad Delain is back. While I miss Charlotte, Diana is an excellent singer and you couldn't have picked a better replacement.

@@titlingur2009 It has not been clearly said but people suspects that Martijn had a bad behavior with all of the other band members. They left as well, in fact the Line-up is totally renewed
@@enricopaoletti5650 The official explanation was that Charlotte will focus in her solo career. Martijn is the only remaining original member and everybody else has left so there might be some personal chemistry issues, too. That said, let's focus in music instead of people.
The voice of Diana Leah was so similar to Charlotte's in some parts that it was really surprising. I had to watch the video like, yeah, this is not Charlotte but it sure sounds a lot like her voice. The voices are not identical but should suit similar songs very well. After hearing this song I personally prefer Charlotte's voice more but it could be just the song. I'll listen future later songs, too, for sure.
I listened to this song so many times on Spotify that it became top 1 of my Wrapped 2022 😅 And now going towards top 10 songs of my wrapped of 2023 bc I cant stop listening to the whole album

It's SO good to have Delain back. The revitalised, shaken-up Delain. I loved Charlotte. And I love Diana. The Quest and the Curse is creeping up on me; through good headphones at volume it's hair-raising. I'd love to see you live, but I guess Sydney Australia is a long way to go. So for now, I'll watch the music vids, listen to the album, watch a few live recordings on CZcams, and wish.

I went to Delain in Zurich yesterday, it freaking blew me away. Diana does an absolutely amazing job in performing the old songs as well and is an awesome live performer. All of you are doing great stuff! Y'all make sure to not miss the tour!

Few bands could survive the breakup experienced with Delain losing an iconic vocalist like Charlotte, but you’ve become a phoenix, resurrecting the band and sound terrific! Looking forward to more great music. Diana Leah is terrific and will make the music her own.

Indeed, Charlotte is one of a kind, but they couldn't have picked a better vocalist to fill in her shoes. Rock solid song, one where the growling vocals instantly made me think of Lacuna Coil, a band that hasn't lost its edge since going full-blown heavy metal, and if anything has only gotten even heavier as time has gone on. I expect the same thing with Delain and Diana, that over time, they will get even heavier as they polish their unique sound down to a science. This is great stuff without a shadow of a doubt.

I was skeptic about the band's future without Charlotte, but I must say that Delain's future is in good hands with Diana in the vocals! totally loved it!
I look at this way. I am sadden for the departure of Charlotte but like most bands they have many eras and new stories to tell. It's also like how Nightwish has many eras with every singer so I guess it's Diana's era and her chapter. But also lets the band keep us guessing.

Great song, great video. Diana Leah, omg just WOW, beautiful lady with a beautiful voice. I absolutely love the chorus of this song. I have heard other artists harmonize with themselves before, but never set up in that way before. Whoever arranged it like that is a freaking genius. The video footage of the lava flows went very well with the music.
I heard that song first without watching the video and for a second I thought: "Huh, why don't I know this old song with still Charlotte singing? Luckily it only took me a few seconds to realize that it isn't she, but your new singer. Don't know where you found Diana Leah, but a great choice you've made there. She fits in immediately and perfectly, and while I normally have to get used to a new band member and especially a new vocalist, her voice caught me immediately. And dammit, by all means, keep those growls coming, I really hope that this is the direction you're going. Great, great song.
I waited for a long time before listening to this because I was scared to find out what the new Delain sounds like, scared I will keep comparing the two eras like people do with some other bands that shall not be named. I finally decided to give it a shot and I'm pleasantly surprised! I love Diana's voice, it fits Delain perfectly! I can now rest easy knowing the band is in good hands 🥹

Well this has been a big relief for me. Somehow I missed the news that the band had split and only found out a few weeks ago. As Delain are one of my favourite bands I was really sad about it. But then this happened. This is not the same band and I will miss Charlotte but this definitely has the sound of Delain. It's a departure from more recent releases, sounding more like their earlier stuff. But as someone who has followed them since Lucidity and loved every album they have released I definitely don't mind. I love it and the new singer is awesome.

I've been a Delain far for a long time. I was concerned that I wouldn't like the new line up. I have to admit, I am pleasantly surprised. Diana sounds great, and the mix of harsh vocals mix great with the epic sound of the song and the clean vocals. I look forward to hearing more. Charlotte will be missed and I eagerly wait her next venture, and am happy that Delain will continue putting out awesome music as well. Great job guys!!!

I usually just read the comments and hit like or dislike but I actually have to say this. I was honestly upset and angry when I heard Charlotte was gone. How could you loose that sound and then youtube threw this up on me today and I have to say. I'm looking forward to see what Charlotte does but this song proves DELAIN is still DELAIN. Go the fuck ahead Diana and keep this epic journey going! I don't ever expect anyone to ever fill the shoes of anyone but you have by far brought the same energy and talent to the table. Blown away and in complete awe of how you showed up to bring this band into it's next chapter. I see epic stories and tales to be told with you. Remember seeing Delain about 8 years ago supporting Within Temptation in Birmingham. They were quality then and still are
Saw them on the same tour in Manchester. It was amazing! Delain might have been the support but in my opinion they stole the show. I felt sorry for WT having to take the stage after them

i loved Charlotte at the Front, and were somehow stunned as the Bandleader announced, he mix up the whole -again. Then i lost Sight of the Group, till i stumbled over this Vid today, afterwhat, 3 Years? Until a couple of days ago I thought Delain was second division, below the likes of Nightwish and Therion, etc. That was before I started hearing this new stuff and then I started diving back into older material with Charlotte. I can see now that Delain kicks ass and I have another band to obsess over!
