I LOVE this. I teach a sewing class to underprivileged adults, and we rely on fabric donations. But when donations are low, we raid the Op Shop (thrift store) that is part of the organisation I work for, for old clothes, and there is always a surplus of old jeans. So these tutorials (like many others of yours) will make it to my class here in Australia! :D

Ha ha, same here - we went through the stage of "everything needs pockets", now we are going through the stage of "i want to spin in my clothes" so I made a few dresses for her, but she still likes to wear legging under them :) kids are so fun :)

upcycled denim empire waisted dress, so clever
I love the apron! It's also nice to use when cooking. I'm really messy and always wiping my hands on my pants. Also it reminds me of aprons that my grandmother made for all of us kids, She had long pockets towards the bottom and made individual stitching for us to keep our crayons, colored pencils in.
I love the recycling of denim fabric. Instead of throwing them away. Sew cute!!

I am an artist learning to sew. I am definitely making the apron! I am going to raid my husband's closet and upcycle his jeans. I might even make one for when he works in his shop in thee garage.

Made a wall organizer sewing together 25 jeans pockets (I cut out a square around them) and a double potholder with one pocket at each end :-)

Excellent projects. . . and timely. I am currently designing a lined travel vest with zippered pockets (inside and out) to be made from my husbands old jeans. I can incorporate some of your tips! When I travel, I put phone, wallet, passport, etc. in vest pockets. I remove the vest only at security. My valuables are fairly safe. I was really grateful for this habit when I once left my handbag behind at an airport lounge and was grateful it contained only lotion, lipstick, and other easily replaceable items.

Yes yes yes! Love that apron! My husband has a pair of old (old!) Jeans with holes in them. I'll reuse them!

Wowww I already do this & it's so fun. Like I am now doing a long jean duster & beach pants. I've done some cute 2 tone jean clutchs/totes jean wallets & jean cpu bags. And they look so brand new like city style or something. They just look sooooo brand new..!!

This is a something I do as a sewing class at my local school
I love these upcycle ideas🥰. I wanted to make a apron for my daughters. As they are always painting and getting it on there clothes. Now I can use my old jeans (which I didn't want to part with) for this😅. Thanks a lot for these wonderful ideas.
OMG, yes! :) I have just a cotton apron that I made for my toddler and it is a life saver, because without it - oh my.... she loves glitter glue and paints, so it is a must :) and jeans are quite thicker than just cotton so hopefully the paint won't seep through!
I like the idea of making the dress into a cropped cami/tank top with a peplum for myself. That would be super cute!

I love your apron. Have you ever made any fabric yo-yos. Yo-yo flowers would look cute on your hat also. The little girls dress is wonderful; and, it looks like an expensive garment. I may try making myself some of these items. It's worth a try. Thank you.
Arvetta, hello there! :) thank you for your sweet comment! I think, I think, but not 100% sure, but I did fabric flowers in a previous video about using up fabric scraps, only there I made them into hair clips. But you're right, fabric flowers would look cute on a hat!

How did you put the pockets on ? Did you sew them on ?
What kind of thread should we use
I use normal all purpose polyester thread for the seams. You can also Google what thread is great for topstitching denim.

Cute ideas but you didn't show how to finish attaching the cap to the brim! Did you finish with the bias tape? I would rather have seen that than the embroidery.

PS About a week ago I sent a message through a comment section. that I was unable to access my Member's perks. This happens when I use my computer, my phone access is fine. As you can see by my name on this comment the blue dot is missing and at the top just under your video I have the "join" option to choose, when I am already a member. This only started a week ago on my computer, before that my membership showed up like it does on my phone. Can you please tell me how to fix it?
Marion, I just saw your comment on the skirt post for Members and then on here and then on the Members Extra video and you are right - same name, same account picture but one has a badge and the other one does not. I have never seen anything like this happen. I wonder if you accidentally have a google account and then a separate yt account, one is logged into YT, the other one is not. Or maybe your computer needs verification of your account. You know how sometimes you use your email service for weeks, but then when you need to update some options you have to login again... maybe that it is the same. I would need to reach out to YT support to see what is up and maybe they can help...

Thank you for replying to me and explaining possible causes. Yes, a week or so ago I had to update my Google account settings and this apparently affected my CZcams account. I also got rid of an account email that was no longer in use.
However, NOW I have affected some changes and also now discover that I am am no longer joined to your Members page on my phone as well!!
I am wondering if I join up again will this mean that I will be billed twice monthly? I really want to be able to access your member videos. I am so sorry for all this mixup, I just want to get it sorted, but it looks like I have no other option than to join agai?.

Life happens :) let's see, when you go to your CZcams profile, top right corner with your photo/profile picture there should be an option menu - "Memberships and purchases" - click on it and take a look what it says there, if there are any active memberships, and see if you can see what an is happening there. Maybe your payment options were connected to the old Gmail account? Maybe it erased your payment options? If nothing - there should be a question sign that says "help" - you can contact CZcams support to help you out with that, because if I reach out they can't see your account and therefore can't help me to help you, but if you reach out from your account they should be able to help and see what is going on.

This is so odd... Definitely reach out to the YT help desk - they should be able to sort it out. The last thing that comes to mind, as silly as it may sound - restart the phone+ computer. But yes, reach out to YT - let them know what is happening, usually it is in a chat form, so you click on a little "?" mark symbol from the menu options when you click on your profile and type in your question and they respond back to you. I am so sorry I am not able to help you more!
