Tonights VIDEO is a special treat, I was fortunate enough to grab my videographer at very short notice on a Sunday night to come and film this vehicle recovery operation in the horrible storm!

Pretty impressive how you rolled with the punches with multiple re-rigging to the front end plus tethering of the Land Rover and adding safety lines in case something let go.

Like you said greg, I don't know what I'd have done on scene myself, but watching it I'd have defo gone for the redirect from landy to the casualty then snatch to the tree and back to the casualty again purely because that tree looked dodgy as fuck. And mega job securing it incase of winch failure, too many would have had an ego about it and not wanted to 'mess about'. I couldn't tell how steep it was until you put the jack down and it rolled away from you, had a good laugh when I saw that going off! Excellent professional job as always mate!

That one would have pulled straight out with a good tug from a tractor, might have bent something but doubt it.
Hi what difference would it make if when the disco was being pulled forwards could you have reversed it back whilst using the winch? 🤷🏻♂️

I would have just phoned a professional recovery company that knows how to deal with dangerous and disastrous situations and recover the vehicle in the safest and most damage free way they can, oh yeah, that's you ;)

Too be honest here, I would recommend a vehicle that out weighs the vehicle thats being recovered for the least convenience of other road users after having to block the live lanes. A land rover is not always the perfect weight ..... loma :D
The discovery easily out weighs the Ford transit
Got to factor the van could be loaded and loads of resistance being beached won't help
His transit spec truck would likely struggle with this and all his other trucks are over 7.5t, which are not ideal for those narrow lanes. Greg picked the best vehicle for this imo and it coped very well. I'd guess it weighs about 2800KG with all the gear. Heavier than it looks for sure.
