- Is this our shortest review ever made? A few months ago we took a look at the Mercedes-AMG E53 Sedan, however in this video we feature the Coupe model. 2022 is the last model year you will be able to get the E53 Coupe before it becomes extinct and replaced by the new incoming CLE.
As Spec'd in our video, this E53 Coupe is priced at $109,000 CAD and includes the AMG Performance Exhaust Package.

I think the reason why coupes have never sold well is just because how much more expensive they were for less practicality. The coupe was $4,000 more expensive which is why most people just got the sedan because it made more sense to get. If they made the base model a coupe with an upgrade available to get the 4 doors, I think people would buy more of them. Especially, if they made the coupes the only trims that got a more powerful engine or drive train. That is just my two-cents, but with cars getting so much more expensive with the currently inflationary enviroment, people want vehicles that do everything and SUVs have been that vehicle, so there is really no incentive to have more than one car when the only car people can afford needs to fit their lifestyle and do everything. Its unfortunate and it worries me because the only cheap options we really have are the BRZ, GR86, Base Mustang/Camaro, and Base Supra. I know that was a rant but I would love to have nice SUV and a sports car for the weekend but with the average new car price being $47,000 according to KBB, that is insane.

Late to the party but just a wonderful, descriptive, informative video review of one of the best all around vehicles ever..... I’ve debated with myself between this LC500 , M4 , M850i , S5 and the COMPLETE package which is Mercedes-Benz continues to win each time.....with the others it's always....yeah but ....M850i zero backseat space and no massage seats, LC500 same along with tiny trunk space for golf clubs , S5 is either ventilated or massage..... the list goes on but The true luxury sports coupe known as the E53 amg has it ALL !!!
Hows the gas mileage on this car? The new e amgs use the inline 6 instead of the regular v6 right?

@@qwerty1994ize I just received it on Friday and have only driven it for 2 hours but it's amazing. Exterior looks incredible, stands out and turns a lot of heads. Interior looks and feels luxurious. The driving feels firm and stable and although I haven't put it in sports mode yet as I'm still breaking it in, it's incredible smooth and responsive in comfort mode. I can't wait to drive it over the coming days :)

This is definitely a really serious daily driver. One interesting thing about Mercedes as a whole is as much people think they're unreliable is a little skewed. It's always some dumb electronic thing most times and usually fixed under warranty.
Take a week to look around your city, I bet you see more Mercs from the 80s, 90s, 00s, 10s and 20s still on the road over all other brands. Like seriously, I don't see as many old Hondas, Acuras, Toyota's, Lexus, on the road as I do old Ford trucks, Mercs and BMW. I live on the East coast.
Go to a junkyard, you'll see a ton of Chrysler, Dodge, Hondas, Toyotas, Lexus, Acura, Nissan, Chevy, Subaru, VW, Infiniti, Ford cars, Jeep, etc.
I very rarely have seen Mercs and BMW at junk yards, hardly ever see Ford trucks (I think they get scrapped especially the work trucks and vans). Audi I think they're volume is so low b/c the owner's who buy them can afford to repair them. I've never come across a Tesla at a junk yard ever.
So hearing you wonder why that Merc is being discontinued really points to who can afford the car. Having just basic mechanical knowledge can help anyone own a Merc especially a used one. These car's are incredibly reliable, and easy to work on. I joked with a few friends about how my w212 is the only car I could work on in a 3 piece suit and not get dirty. Can't say the same for the BMWs I've owned.
I'm not entirely convinced EV cars will be the end all to the internal combustion engine.
The thing with Merc owners is they will spend a lot of money to keep their cars in shape which isn't a bad thing if you ask me
@@alifarhat16 Mercedes drivers are smart and will actually use FCP Euro and not pay for parts especially expensive dealer repair fee's. Spark plugs at Mercedes of Annapolis cost $45ea. Maybe more now. FCP Euro has the same Bosch plugs for $8ea with a lifetime guarantee 🤷🏾♂️
At least in my region old guys who own Mercs work on there own cars, even the BMW owner's. They'll pay for AMG or M models to be professionally serviced after warranty, and these are wealthy people I'm talking about. They like asking me questions about my car when I pick them up in a Lyft. I always get the, this is a nice car, and you're doing Lyft. My reply usually goes, well in Germany these are taxi cabs. Dead reliable and honestly the W212 is as easy as working on my old Civic EP3 just with longer lasting parts.
Oil changes or Service A on these things take about 10min, including oil filter, air filter and cabin air filter.
Now the S-Class that's a different beast. You still get the lifetime guarantee on parts but they're stupid expensive especially if you have a V12. Smaller engines ftw if you want to keep it past warranty.

I don't believe that the E63 is gone for good...just a temporary hiatus due to "supply chain" issues and I'm sure business wise it makes more sense to allocate production towards models that do higher volume of sales...what AMG is there without the E63 anyway?

Crazy to think that back in 2019 i got the E53 with 0 down and 1000 CAD lease payment and during that time no one wanted one. Now in 2022 you cant even buy this car no one is selling!
FYI the car is fully loaded. this car is now with double its residual value.

I’ve been disappointed with the direction Mercedes is heading in. For sedans, Mercedes has always been on top with luxury and sport. Now sport has completely fallen off the wagon and the luxury aspect is next. They need to hire someone from Porsche or BMW and take notes. The S550 Coupe sedan was the last of the great lineups of sedans.
They better not transition to a 4 cylinder. The E class deserves better than what they did to the 23’ C43,C63. An abomination. If they seriously go 4 cylinders this will completely kill the value proposition for Mercedes in the near future

I agree but when I think of safety, E53 is better and adding the performance exhaust you’re still winning. C63s is RWD which makes you feel uneasy when flooring it. But I was bent on getting the c63s but the decided to go with the e53 because its AWD and just 74HP slower so “it’s a small price to pay for salvation “ 😅
