SmartAlign uses the presence of audio in your Dub to align itself to the Guide track, and although it functions very reliably, you may on occasion need to resort to the non-SmartAlign workflows outlined in the manual.
I've just come across this plugin. Looks wicked. I'm wondering if anyone has ever tried this on metal guitars? Those metal guys go crazy for time aligned parts.
You should have disclosed that this was a "dialogue" vid upfront, since the Voc in the name of the vst, stands for VOCAL, which is a singer type rendition. Also I believe with this newer 5 version, you can pull in BOTH Voc 2 and 3 into the Dub area and do them at the same time. I also agree with Mike King. SynchoArts has Blw Avg TS. I had Proj 3 and just wanted to do an Upgrade to 5. BUT I bought it from Sweetwater, and although I had problems getting it uploaded into Studio One Pro 5----after all it was just an upgrade!, right?-----I got GREAT TS from Sweetwater, and they actually got the plugin uploaded for me. There are a handful of VST Venders with poor TS, so I now just buy plugins from Sweetwater because I know they have great TS, which even includes a guy in their TS who specializes in Presonus!
Great plugin.....I am trying to figure out a way to "smart align" a vocal track to the downbeats of a song.....only 1 vocal track, so that the loudest parts of the vocal hit directly on the downbeats....sort of like quantizing it but.....not really. =)
Honest opinion. I have Vocalign Project 3 and have enjoyed using it the past couple years. Is it truly worth it to upgrade to 5? I only use it for stacking vocals in songs.
I figured you were on a different daw. Pro Tools uses a process called "Audio Suite" which is different than daws that use ARA like Logic. Here is a link to the user guide. I have the same on cubase 11 pro latest version Can not see what they see You can find the alighner in Audio next to project the upper line of cubase And in insert I see like you had sidechain and nothing else Mac mini I on

I find that if the audio is pretty close, the SmartAlign works 99% of the time. If it's far off then the artist should just re-record it anyway lol.

I would use elastic audio for guitars within Pro Tools.

How many vocals can you align with vocalign project 5?
Can you throw it multiple tracks .. to align them at all at once
I'm not sure how many you can do at once, but I believe it is a lot. It doesn't go on tracks, it works as an AudioSuite plugin.

This plugin won't do that for you. The best way is to manually align the vocal track using Melodyne. 👍

It's definitely worth it. You can align larger regions with better accuracy. I think the upgrade is still $33.

This plugin looks amazing compared to hours of elastic audio warping lol but anyone know how cpu intensive it is as I have an older Mac (2013)
This plugin doesn't run in real-time so you don't have to worry about CPU.

What do you use to get the vocal intended to be the guide track timed to the track/beat? Melodyne?
Typically I will use Melodyne. You have to manually do it though. There is no automatic tool that will align vocals properly to the beat.
I cannot get this to work in current Studio One 5 Pro version and the various support teams have been unresponsive so buyer beware
i dont get the capture knob for the Guide (it only says "sidechain"). I can only press the capture knob on the DUB. Any suggestions?
