There are three points I wish to add.
1) Natasha got Kerensky bloodname, when she was 22. And that was considered as very early raise to carry such honour.
2) She and Bounty Hunter met once during contract with Kurita. Her Warhammer was caught alone after fall from the rock and was in no position to fight Bounty Hunter and his companions. But Bounty Hunter himself was in no position to leave the planet, so they made an agreement: Dragoons help Bounty Hunter leave that place, and Bounty Hunter escorts Natasha to Dragoons unharmed and in her mech.
3) There was a great scandal in Inner Sphere, concerning Morgan Kell. His wife wounded in battle and after treatment she lost ability to birth children. But all in all Phelan Kell was born as rightful son of Morgan Kell. The scandal was because of the woman, who donated her cells to Salome Kell. That mysterious woman was Natasha Kerensky. So, she is mother of Phelan Kell, khan of Clan wolf-in-Exile.
Thanks for the additions.
"Tales of the Black Widow Company" was the first BT thing I ever saw, in like 1988. "Nasty" Natasha Kerensky is still my favorite BT character, and I still collect and I paint miniatures for Wolf's Dragoons. Having a striking and powerful woman to admire really helped get me into the game. I just got the "Alpha Strike" box, and the minis inside are what I needed to build up the classic 3028 BWC in new Catalyst minis.
Thanks for sharing :)
She may have been famous and all that, but she's also the single biggest reason me and my fellow Clan Wolf-ers weren't allowed to nickname ourselves, "The Wolfmen," just a total buzzkill. I still haven't gotten over that. I also think she got off on calling us all "pups," which I guess I could take or leave depending on the day, but she'd push it, you know? Literally, she'd just never quit.
I shoulda gone Clan Snek Cobra.
I love hearing about the characters of battletech and their history.
What Battletech fan DOESN'T know who Natasha Kerensky is? She was arguably one of the best MechWarriors to ever live.
Hello Grim.
A most excellent video about one of my favorite characters in the Battletech Universe.
Back 'in the day', my Mercenary Company faced off against the 'Black Widow' several times, due to playing the scenarios available in a scenario pack for the Black Widow Company.
Because I admired her, and without consulting the other Players of my Playing Group. I dispatched a special unit in 3059 of the newly formed Ghost Lions Legion to Twycross. Their objective: to locate and retrieve Natasha's remains, and her fallen Mech.
Both were obtained, after fierce battles with Clan Jade Falcon units, and the special unit returned to Styx, the Stygian System, with their prizes. Natasha was laid to rest in a specially built memorial to her and her career as an Elite MechWarrior. Her Dire Wolf was repaired to 'battlefield readiness' and stands 'guard' over her tomb in the base of the Memorial.
Standing beside the Dire Wolf, one pace back on either side, is an all black Warhammer, and an all black Marauder. Showing the two other primary Mechs she had used in her career.
The Hades Mech Museum would dearly love to obtain the original Mechs, in ANY condition, to repair and replace the 'stand in' Mechs used in the Kerensky Collection.
Natasha's signature sub-machine gun, cooling vest, Piloting Helmet, and other gear are proudly displayed, in bullet-proof, air-tight, Helium filled, cases to either side of the Platinum-Bronze plaque set into the base of the Memorial. Each item, still having the combat damage and dried blood carefully preserved.
Part of the 'reverence' for Natasha Kerensky is due to a battle in which she and the original 'First Lion', Leonidas Franklin, fought until their Mechs were total wrecks, bowed to one another, and exited the field of battle. Honor upheld for both.
I do not know of any other Player that has specifically run the gauntlet of battles with Jade Falcon forces on Twycross, to obtain Natasha and her Mech. But, I did it anyway. A series of battles fought on the tabletops at the Emperor's Headquarters, over the course of almost two months.
After the first couple of battles, it became 'common' that some of the observers of the battle would place 'bets' with each other as to wither or not I would overcome the Jade Falcons to obtain my goal. Many were the people that had 'free' dinners due to my tactical skill, and I unblushingly admit, cunning and often obscure tactics used to tilt the battle in my favor.
Keep on making videos my friend! I look forwards to each of them.
May your Mech never overheat, and your Gauss rounds fly true.
Frank-ly spoken.
Thank you Frank!
@@GrimDarkNarrator What did you think of my 'retrieval' of Natasha and her Mech? And the 'back story' around it all?
Fighting her and the Bounty Hunter in the Battletech game was fun. Took the high ground and tore em apart, also using a pair of Bullsharks in my lace was the icing on the cake.
Loads of sensor locks, 2 Marauders (one SLDF, the other standard), then set off the encounter and run and pick off the survivors.
I pretty much let them blow each other apart, then wasted the survivors.
For some reason both her and the Bounty Hunter broke from their laces to try and focus my commander down. They found out the hard way 1v1v4 is terrible odds.
One of the best missions in the BattleTech PC game is when you in a 3 way battle with Natasha Kerensky and The Bounty Hunter. I was however disappointed I did not get to salvage any of there mechs.
Funny, someone else told me the same thing. But I guess salvaging their mechs would break canon.
One of my favorite characters when I first got into the game back in the 80's.
Same here! She's easily one of the more interesting members of the Wolf's Dragoons/Clan Wolf.
Oh yes, the Black Widow herself!
One tough lady.
What a tangled Web of a Historical Mechwarrior!
I Wolf'ed down this Lore Video and hunger for more.
Nice to see that this video was not Russian to the end, but took it's time.
Just finished Blood of Kerrensky!
Great trilogy.
If she's not proof of the clans genetics superiority I don't know what it is.
Canopian catgirls prove otherwise.
@@thelordofcringe you realize you just made my point for me.
@@upandaljm clanners cant make catgirl kerensky, checkmate
@@thelordofcringe NeeeeeeeYooow!!! That was the point wizzing past you.
No, they just make female Elementals; thats a whole lot of nasty in one package.
It was Joanna of the Falcon Guards that killed the black widow.
Yes bad writing,
@@alanrickett2537 Black Library I agree.
@@alanrickett2537 Agreed. The Jade Falcon book was trash. They did Natasha dirty. Im surprised FASA even allowed that.
Loved Natasha K
A nasty peice of work, and lethal pilot in the HBS Battletech game.
You read though the black widow manual and every mech is crippled from repeated damage. A stinger with 2 internal armor left because they cannot patch it anymore. Engine hit, lost heat sinks, and faulty weapons added to lower then average armor.
The OTHER Black Widow.
The one who didn't sue Disney :D
Great work!
Thanks!
Excellent job
Thanks.
For some reason, I imagine clanners fashion like 1980s rock stars'. Am I wrong?
Maybe not entirely wrong.
I suppose this is not the same Natasha Kerensky who appears in the Battletech PC game.
bt is both awesome and stupid in advancing their timeliness soooo much!!
I mean, u can play any era u want, but knowing the future is just...silly to me.
irl, it has not been her full lifetime, yet the game is millenia beyond her life!!
if they wanted to be more like judge dredd, where real life timeliness apply to in game lifetimes, that would be awesome..I mean unless she was a lot older when the game started, than I thought. max 25 years, if!!??🤔
Hey grim I couldn't find anywhere else to send yhis but I qas wondering if you could do 2 more books that I'd love to hear. One is Ulrika the vampire which is an awesome series! And the second is called witch hunter if you don't mind?
I'm sorry, at the moment im commissioned to do Gotrek and Felix and Darkblade and that's going to last until those are finished. Its a lot of effort to make an audiobook and its why i just do commissions for now, since otherwise it wouldn't be worth the effort.
The artwork used in Battletech was so hit and miss, some is really good but others are just awful
I kinda agree. Too bad there's so little of it.
Steel Eagles? Tell me more.
Ahhh yes, She who had beef with the Bountyhunter
Pat Benatar was gangster
can you do a video on the o'bannon twins?
I'll add them to possible topics.
Timeout I have a question. Was Natasha a free birth warrior or a true born?
True Born. Natasha's sibko was mixed from Kerensky and some Bloodnames from Clan Widowmaker.
Can you make a video about Joanna? She is my wife's favorite character. If you could add Google automated subtitle translation capabilities to Spanish, it would be awesome.
There's very little about Joanna in the wiki, unfortunately.
@@GrimDarkNarrator Not the wiki, the novels.
@@josepablolunasanchez1283
1. Pick up the novel, I Am Jade Falcon. It's the Joanna adventure story.
2. The wiki is usually where one goes to get all the basic information & sources of the information.
If there's little information on Joanna in the wiki, it probably means she doesn't play a big enough role to be included in a lot of stuff.
@@19Pyrus70 She killed the black widow. Does it matter in the lore?
@@josepablolunasanchez1283
It matters.
The issue isn't whether or not she did anything noteworthy but whether or not there's enough noteworthy stuff to make a whole video just on her.
Apparently, there isn't.
she killed anton marik
I AM jade Falcon! The words said over her corpse.
This is going to sound odd but the Dornian Hersey Fondom Wiki directory sucks. The stories are still being written an updated but the only way to see them is to search for them by clicking on the writers profile an clicking on their contributions. The Alpha Legion full article and the Maelstrom 100 Year War are just examples.
Thanks for letting me know. I'll try to check it out when I can.
I dont like Anastasia kerensky, it is like for me like you buy one black widow on wish.
Natasha was great! Until she got the boot lol
🍷🐺🎩
Can we get some warhammer 40k lore on the defenses deployed by hive citys, what armaments and imperial regiments can they deploy in their defence, how powerful are their defences (especially their walls, do they any weaponry mounted on the walls like large cannons?), do they use defence lazers?
She’s not so tough.
