    The 2022 US Open runs from August 23 - September 11 in New York City at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. The tournament takes place for the 142nd time and is the fourth and final Grand Slam of the year.       ​@@bonez815 It's not just a handicap. If it was, they wouldn't keep the two bounce rule when playing wheelchair tennis with each other. Given how much harder it is to move in a wheelchair, the game just works a lot better with everyone having two bounces.
      Otherwise, dropshots and lobs would be too overpowered.

      It’s not the physical coordination that’s impressive it’s the positioning of each player that has to be perfect due to the limited mobility from their wheelchairs. As well as the team coordination as well

    Not everyone knows this but regular athletes use their feet to generate power at any point in their bodies. Be it in the arms, legs, back, torso, you name it. Having strong arms like these amazing people here without the aid of generating power thru the ground is not something anyone could do

      Hitting from a wheelchair isn't actually that hard. I had a highschool teammate who was in a wheelchair and he brought a back-up for us to try once. All the top players on the team could easily beat him because our ground strokes and serves translated pretty well and every point starts with a serve or return. It's the movement that we were all hopeless at and which is so impressive in this point.

    I once knew a guy named David that would scream with joy and in the pitch of a little girl from his sports wheelchair as he gamed...He would be impressed if caught glimpse of the amazing push these guys make on their chairs today. Sadly, David passed away in a building fire he couldn't escape on March of 2016...Rest in Peace to his remaining family, friends, and community.

    This is so crazy, to not only make fast split second movements, that we would otherwise take for granted, but also hit the tennis ball with all your might in a wheelchair is so impressive
