Not necessarily out of yaoi context or anything but, honestly, this feels like Izuku trying to convey his feelings to Bakugo for this particular arc. Not wanting to see or hear Bakugo give up, becoming part of his motivation to be the best hero there is, and how he's always seen Bakugo as a friend to cheer on to keep doing his best because he always admired him so much as a hero, too. In this weird and ironic way, Bakugo is a hero to Izuku; pushing him beyond his limits- plus ultra.

Revisiting this song again, it doesn’t matter if you think this is Uraraka singing to Deku, or Deku singing to Bakugou...just remember, the ending animation had Deku and Bakugou looking at each other right at the “gazing into your eyes” line 🤣

I don't know what's interesting towards the eye gazing of Bakugo and Deku, but it doesn't end in a romantic manner, just bonds.
But Uraraka's gaze at the end, is more of a worried face than everyone.
I still just don't get it why everyone in here is referring the song as Deku's love to Bakugo, when in fact, it is the inspiration of Uraraka, as a hero.
I mean why would Deku mention Bakugo as a "fool", when he himself was an actual 'fool' of the story, in which he can't even read Bakugo...

Despite the trivia of this song, it works perfectly well for Uraraka with Deku too! He inspires her so much and the recent arcs showed just that. Deku is basically *her* hero too 😊
It is more likely be it. Date Atashi no Hero means "Because it's my hero" shows how much Deku himself being a hero towards Uraraka.
If you may have noticed, Bakugo is not usually the hero in Deku's life, in fact it was All Might. But for Ochaco, Deku is her own hero. He saved her from death as she saved him as well.
With Bakugo, that feeling is still unalike since Deku saved Bakugo, but still doesn't care. Unlike with Uraraka, she followed his footsteps and be just like him because....

I have noticed it, since when I always heard the song. It never acts towards promise to change. It is more like a promise, unlike "The Day" or even "Star Catcher" unless the other person did sing this song as a promise to be with Deku's side all along.
Even if you may all said it comes from the singer, some information are just too naive and a bit biased rather than the story being apprehended.

One of the few English covers that I actually LIKE... if only the music was the original.. but I guess they had their reasons.

Everytime I listen to this song I worry that people think it’s Uraraka singing to Deku or the other way around but I look at the comments and smile knowing that the song was in Deku’s emotions towards Kacchan
