    I might wait for the turbo. I really like the pegasus trail 5, i’m more a road runner but picked it up the trail 5 last week for some easier trail runs now in the summer 😊 i’m more of a heel striker. It worked great on my 2 hour + long run on the trail today. And bought it with 25% discount so worth for me 😊
    Great review video like always 🫡

    I’ll be honest, I think Nike’s stack height measurements are a bit liberal. The Adidas SL2 has similar stack heights on paper, but by looks and feel, the Pegasus 41 doesn’t have 27mm in the forefoot. Even the Pegasus 39/40 was claiming a 24mm (correct me on that), but at home I used a caliper measurement in my U.S. 10.5, and measured 21mm, which is a lower stack than the Novablast 2. I went to the store to look at the new Pegasus, and brought my Saucony Triumph 20’s with me because it also “measures” 27/37, just like the Pegasus 41, and there is no way the Pegasus 41 is 27/37. The Triumph 20 looks like an absolute MONSTER next to it. Also, the underfoot feel, I went with the SL2 over the Pegasus. Lighter, more versatile, more breathable, also cheaper.

    Keep the heel the way it is, but make the forefoot 2-3mm thicker. That's where I need cushioning. The 10mm drop and the relatively thin forefoot make it a no-go for me.

    At the end of the day the Peg 41 is a solid update. It’s puts the shoe back into the daily trainer conversation. Same with the new SL2 from Adidas. There are some really solid shoes out there now and it’s a good time to be a runner. Shoe companies are realizing it’s innovate or die and most are bringing out some banging shoes. Especially now that there are hundreds of shoe reviewers on CZcams and a dud will kill a brand in a heartbeat.
    Keep on telling it like it is Fordy!!

  • @MiracleWarriors

    Compare it with the Vomero 17 ! I wonder if the new Pegasus 41 is back to be like a cheaper version of the Vomero. And no shame to be cheaper, it could be more breathable, less weight (maybe?) etc.
    What I loved last year about my Pegasus 40was the best of the year in true to size lockdown. Was amazing and that alone made me like it much more them a Velocity Nitro 2, Gel-Cumulus 25 or the horrible lockdown of the Adizero SL.
    I have faith that the new Pegasus 41 will still keep its crow ,even if it is not the fastest or the lightest daily trainer available.

In my opinion there are far better daily trainer offerings on the market. I'm a lover of the Nike Alphafly and Vapourfly so not just bashing Nile. Interesting the disclaimer at the start...why now? Something happen? Also noticed you are making more specific references to "my pace" - such as when you mention your easy pace - which I think is great. This has always been a bug bear of mine with shoe reviewers - they say "when you hit your race pace, they come alive"...but my race pace could be very different from someone elses....but does the shoe still act the same at both of those "race paces"? Of course not. So I like it when shoe reviewers qualify their assessment by putting it in the context of their ability. Nice work.

    • @FordyRuns
      @FordyRuns  Před měsícem +1

      I’ve seen a lot of feedback in comments on other people’s videos about not believing reviews coz of mileage and not relatable as no idea of pace or my size etc etc. so my aim is to be as transparent as I can so I’ve added that so you guys know that the mileage is true (Strava public) you see my efforts, my races, that the shoes most likely sent in and as much info as possible.

    React X is awful unless my pair of Infinity Run 4 are a duff pair 😅 I can do about 5k easy and my ankles and shins start to hurt, doesn't happen in previous versions of React in other Nike trainers. It's just dead underfoot for me.
    The last really good Pegasus models were the 35 and 35 turbo IMO. That was your 2 shoe rotation right there 😎
    The Trail 4 is a good shoe and better than the 39 from my experiences.
    You're absolutely right that other brands have surpassed the Pegasus in the daily trainer market which is a real shame as I started out in the 32 and ran my 2nd marathon in the 34 with zero issues
