The BEST setup I have seen with model trains and Peter is an angel to work with. Can't wait for the Richmond, VA display. Carlos Ojeda
Thanks Carlos!! I appreciate you watching and posting your kind comments about what we do! Looking forward to meeting you at this year's Richmond Train Show!
Truly out standing lay out.
I´m 54 years old and when I was a kid, I never had a Lionel miniature electric train; but I had a Trian-g (I´m not sure if I write correctly the trademark) one. It was very elaborated too. What a nostalgic moment for me! Thanks for share this video. Greetings from Venezuela.
Thanks for your comment, so glad that you enjoyed our video! :)
Many moons ago, the Volvo dealership had some model railroad club set up a display for Christmas. The kids and parents loved it, and it was one of our best December sales months ever. If you own a business, I would recommend hiring the SRC to set up a display. It does bring the customer traffic in,and gives them a great experience.
Thanks for that plug! We set up during the holidays to provide that great Christmas cheer and look forward to it each year.
awesome thanks for posting
That's just beautiful and I love the smoke
We like steam motive power best also, and I think our mix of Lionel, MTH, Williams and K-Line put on a pretty good show!! Thanks for watching and for posting!
The people in that town must never get any sleep
Sleep is highly overrated! Who would want to, they'd miss all the hi-rail action. :)
funny
Neato! Giant Maerklin 3 rail track, the poor guy in the caboose must have a heart attack every time the train locomotive approaches the X crossing on the shorter inside track !
No, no, no, Marklin uses smaller 1/2 sized Lionel 3-rail track for their HO trains. :) I'm pretty sure that J. Lionel Cowen came out with his 3-rail track first, and in Germany they were still using pull toy trains or winding them up by hand.
Th
Nice looking set up.
+Marty Jeruzal Thanks Marty, hope you got to see our other videos, and make tracks to visit our fb page also! Be sure and tell your friends about us! :)
Nice layout and great train action. I'm building a 10x101/2 feet layout on a movable table because of the limited space in my basement. Like the way you use the houses on the layout. Thanks for sharing.
+Nick L Trains Thanks Nick, we'd look forward to seeing some video of your layout under construction, and later in operation as it gets finished.
+SilverRailClub Thank you I apreshate your support. Greetings from New Jersey
Nick L Trains. My room is 10x16 but attempting SCALE so it'll be a bear. My MTH N&W J loco has 72" recommended radius so I got fixed rails only. I think we both need a carpenter to bash our walls out. Ohh the humanity!
Nice Nice....I like it :)
Thanks so much for your support in all we do (and film). :)
+Zoozoo Mall hi everyone ,if anyone else wants to discover how to build a model railway layout try Megarno Railroad Membership Magician (do a google search ) ? Ive heard some incredible things about it and my mate got great results with it.
+Zoozoo Mall Not certain about the points made but ,if anyone else is searching for how to build a model railroad layout plans try Megarno Railroad Membership Magician (do a search on google ) ? Ive heard some unbelievable things about it and my buddy got cool results with it.
Beautifully done. I have been running these for years, but always wonder why the 3-Rail guys at most shows run their trains at unrealistic breakneck speeds. It would be a lot more effective and realistic if they used real train speeds. The worst are the S gauge trains. Nice job, but consider slowing down.
Thanks for watching, and for your post Bill. We couldn't agree more, some of those S-gauge guys must be speed-racer at heart! We're guilty of running fast also, especially when we set up the 'big wow!' and the crowds watch as our locomotive nearly hits its caboose at the crossing - but misses it by a hair each time! Of course, Dad and I measure everything out exactly before the train ever chuffs on down the mainline, but the effect is, well, spectacular. Remember, "it's not how fast you track, it's how well your trains track fast!" :)
William Graham III when running older o gauge models, the old style Lionel "Pullmore" motors have a hard time moving trains at slow speed. They need X amount of RPMs to maintain momentum and not burn them out or strain them.
How is the smoke done? I remember having a small train set as a kid, not a lot of smoke, how do they make the smoke in these toy trains?
Why does 603 have 4449 bell
Well I found out that the O and O27 are not the same size. Train size is different and a O engine doesn't work on a O-27 track
+Larry Oxford Well, the principle difference between O, O-27, and O-72 is track curvature. All are the same track gauge and intended to be to a scale of 1/48. O-27 track curves will produce a circle of 27 inches in diameter, regular O will produce a circle of 28.5 inches in diameter, and O-72 curves will produce a circle of 72 inches in diameter.
A lot of engines and longer kinds of rolling stock either get manufactured as semi-scale "shorties" that have been slightly compressed lengthwise, or else are articulated in ways or to degrees the real deal isn't, in order to navigate the tighter curves of O-27 (and in many cases, standard O curves). But the doors and windows and seats and all are still sized for 1/48 scale people.
+ZeldaTheSwordsm mmmgt.
Larry Oxford they will run on each other's track, however, larger engines can't handle the tighter curves, hence the term "semi scale". Trains are just slightly smaller, but internals are still modeled for 1:48 and o scale track gauge
Are hot wheels scaled to o scale 3-rail layouts!
Hot wheels are a little too small, and look best on an S-gauge layout. Full O-guage is scaled to 1/48th or, as with 027 1/50th (near scale).
Why do some idiot people run their trains at excess speed ?????.........it is not impressive at all..........it just shows how stupid you are
Let's see, last time I checked these were TOY TRAINS! And, oh yeah, we're all having FUN with our hobby. If you're a turtle who enjoys watching paint dry for fun, then you should be spending you time working at DMV, not watching our model train videos!! As for the rest of us who may get questioned by idiot people like this person who left the comment above - When running O-gauge with magnetraction, remember: It's not just how fast you run your trains, it's how well you run your trains fast!"
Thanks. Nice Video,Layout,and Trains.
Wow, How cool!! very Nice!
Nicely done SilverRail Club! Great layout and love those beautiful trains.
Thank you guys so very much. Please take time to enjoy our many other videos, now in HD!
Enjoyed watching!

I LIKE TRAINS
I have a 1993 New York Central that puts out very little steam and one that doesn't work at all. How do I get what you have?
Thanks for sharing our video Adam. Hope you get to enjoy our many others . . .
Not only do you have a J class but a T1 duplex as well? Consider me jealous
The best smoking engines I've ever seen. Are those after market smoke machines, or stock? Lionel locomotives never smoke so much.
+Thomas Meleck Tom, thanks for posting, and watching our model train video. You're right, in the past Lionel steam engines never produced so much smoke. The one's you're noticing in this video that produce the most steam effect were made by - MTH. We like 'em both, and just to note, the Lionel has stepped up their game, and the newer locomotives have a variable setting for their smoke output. :)
Thank you.
I am just starting out with O Scale and would like to know what size cars and people is used?
+Larry Oxford Larry, thanks for asking. O-scale items are generally 1/48th scale, however 1/50th scale cars or trucks will work fine. I hope that watching our videos and seeing what we've put together will give you some ideas on what era you'll like to model, as well as the overall 'look' you want to have for the town or city you are going to model. Hope you get to have a lot of fun with this hobby, as we have, and you are welcome to post your progress on our fb page so we can share what your building with our fellow friends and rail-fans.
what kind of engine is @ 5:37
Thanks for writing. The locomotive you're asking about is Lionel's Lionmaster version of PRR's famous T1 Duplex. You can learn more about the real Duplex by clicking here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PRR_T1
thanks
Blake Bergersen my dad has one of those. We have the daylight as well. I love hooking those steamers up to my streamlined cars and putting them up at high speeds to see them fly down the track
If you'd like to build your own railroad I found a really good beginners guide that helps you do so!!! :D Check out the link below!!!
