- This is Thomas O'Keefe's reaction to watching Dimash Kudaibergen & Igor Krutoy - Olimpico for the first time.
Thomas O’Keefe played with Antiseen from 1988 to 1995 playing Bass. While with Antiseen he played on a GG Allin album. Before that he was the guitar player for Judas Bullethead. He’s been the tour manager of Train, Sia, Dashboard Confessional, Mandy Moore, Whiskeytown, Third Eye Blind & Weezer. He’s the author of "Waiting to Derail, Ryan Adams and Whiskeytown, Alt-Country's Brilliant Wreck."

Just got home from Dimash concert i Budapest. Sometimes he varies the way he sings a song sometimes he sings it like it a recording. But he never ever makes a wrong note. 2,5 hours not ever the slightest hint of a mistake, not one. Don’t know how he pulls it off. Flabbergasted. Istanbul in 20 days see you there Dears❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🇩🇰

The song was premiered at the European Games in Minsk. It’s meant to encourage the athletes for the competition and that’s also what the song, the lyrics are about.

I wish you could let him hear Dimash singing "the show must go on " by Queen. Dimash couldn't speak english at this point, but he learning the lyrics, the song and the meaning behind the lyrics in one week. I think he nails it! And he does it his way like always. Freddy Mercury would be proud ❤
Absolutely correct on this. It is on of my favourite performances from him. I grew up with Queen and his interpretation of the show must go on is amazing.

How cool! You should always tell the person he's 25 (or whatever age) when he sings this, and he's 6'3" tall, from Kazakhstan, because people always think he's a little guy, when he's TALL :D, and you could mention he turns 30 this year and has a big concert....whatever you think isn't overdoing it. Obviously, he saw the size of the crowd, but might not have realized everyone was there for Dimash because it was his concert. I do love how you introduce new people to Dimash. Bless you!

Another great reaction with Dimash and Olympico. Cool story about banging out a song on your car's dashboard and then some kid loves enough to spend money drive over and sing it with the guy while he's performing. I can see where that's pretty special.

Igor Krutoy wrote the lyrics and song for Dimash, and why Dimash is so passionate about it. You can easily find a version with subtitles, and I think you'll be impressed with the lyrics too. All his songs have a meaningful message which adds to the good vibes he creates. It was fun hearing you two talk about your experiences!

No doubt about it. Dimash has a great voice. He's operatic using slightly modern pop with the classical music. Great combination. Maybe some of the widest range I have heard from anyone. The choir behind him gives him a response toto his call.
When I think of the low range I think of Enrico Pallazzo.

He do not really go all that crazy low. He is not a base singer. But, his range is huge and starts low and go sky high. The most impressive thing, I think, is that he has no holes in the range. He can freely choose a tone in the whole range and make it sound good. He can also slide up and down at will without getting some strange yodeling distortions. It is a very clean sound. In comparison Diana Ankudinova has that yodeling skills. She makes those duo tones and those husky tones. She also have a crazy range, going lower than your mind really can fathom and very high. But, it is a voice with a totally different timbre.
Normally he doesn’t sing deep base. But have you heard him at Budapest? (Sadly I myself have only seen the videos)
His deep notes sounded stronger and deeper than ever before. I think he could sing bass for longer parts of songs now. 😳🤯🤩🔥❤️

I'd like to suggest trying out Stranger or Sinful Passion for your guests. I understand you like opera and most of Dimash's work contains some, but I think using something purely opera like Olymico ignores a lot of other aspects of his talent.
I'm a subscriber, but really, I think the host must educate a little bit more himself about the songs he represents to his guests. For example in this one Olimpico, he should know and inform his guest that the lyrics are in Italian. And maybe propose to put on the subtitles. Just saying..
