@@snoopywoopy-the-only Except for the fact that the gnosis itself is responsible for generating Mora, not Zhongli. Tsaritsa will probably just replace him as the money printer, making the entire theory moot. Regardless of it's importance, it's a really disappointing choice on Matpat's part given how deep the lore is and how interesting the main storyline is. There are countless interesting thing to talk about and he chose the one that nobody cares about.

Making ridiculous points by applying real world science video game mechanics/rules was what the channel has been about from day one. Yes, there's a sizeable audience who are here for lore nowadays, a phase of the brand that really gained popularity through FNAF, but there's still people here for the science- and economics-based theories. I think this was a splendid video, as I honestly believe Mat often drops the ball in regards to lore theories. That, and everyone can do lore on a game they're invested in. The scientific/economic content is something not everyone can/want to produce.

also, to add to this, the Fatui (antagonists) are known for being very wealthy in mora, meaning this will give them more power in teyvat. which makes this even more scary to think about

It also adds to Regrator's (who is the richest among the Harbingers and is responsible for their country's economy) lore in one of the pale flame set. One of his goals is to make Snezhnaya the "beating heart" of mora in all of Teyvat so that once he accomplishes that, he can singlehandedly destroy it in the blink of an eye if he ever decides to silence said "heart beat".

@@noirody6256 Not as far as either I or the Harbingers can tell. Dottore specifically mentions that it's impossible for a regular person to use a gnosis properly or even really understand divine wisdom and the Cryo Archon presumably can't use Geo either.

This is actually got me thinking ... if Mora Blossoms exist, then why is Zhongli's ability to make mora (or lack thereof) a plot point? And if they dont exist in lore, then ... (thinking emote).

@@theuone8828 it's because ley lines or domains are risky and commoners can't fight them so the entire currency supply of the world will be in the hands of adventurers and/or treasure horders or some other organisation and it's obvious that any organisation made by mortals will be at the very least a little corrupt . then the only way to achieve a peaceful way of getting mora would be adepti and/or the other archons joining together which will be impossible in the near future and i also think the resin recharge is buffed for the player since even if only vision holders have resin lore wise [ not gameplay wise ] the are many npc vision holders that would still mean lore wise many adventurers and/or treasure horders and/or fatui have vision and thus domains and ley lines should be on a constant purge so i think their [ npc ] resin replenishes depending upon their life style [ resin description says it is absorbed from the surroundings ] so it might take them a few days or even weeks just to get a few resin . TL:DR SO IN GENERAL LEY LINES ARE NOT A RELIABLE AND A SAFE SOURCE OF MONEY
10:15 this is actually true because on zhongli's story quest: sal flore one of the npc that's having a discussion with zhongli in the beginning mentions that mora is used on "weapon enhancement" not by paying the blacksmith of whoever enhanced that weapon but its actually used as a part of that enhancement, a catalyst.

Considering the fact that the Fatui has the geo gnosis I doubt they hadn't thought about that since they have a banker between their harbingers. So my theory is that Zhongli made a contract with them so they would take care of the mora production when their plan is completed and they overthrow the gods.
Matpat is literally better at explaining both inflations and deflations, and also depressions than my own school. I wish every teacher I had was Matpat
He also has a writing team and can spend days on one short lesson plan while most teachers push out multiple lesson plans per day. He also doesn't have to follow a curriculum.
@@LilianaKali I'm not saying that teachers are bad, or that Matpat is some super teacher, it's just I wish all lessons that I was forced to sit through were as fun and entertaining as these, because these teach me far more than the school curriculum can. Teaching is such an undesirable job, I don't blame them, more that they are forced to work such horrible jobs to ultimately fail.

Nah, the Liyue Qixing will just start issuing and backing the first fiat currency, using their official status of the successor of Morax for its marketing. Meanwhile, Snezhnaya will be the new producer of alchemical conduits to replace mora and military tech in general. In fact, it already is, and is seeking outside markets (even if mostly for testing and manipulation purposes for now).
What an interesting theory! It's important to note though that Zhongli didn't retire just out of selfishness but in a later quest it reveals he is worried about erosion which can affect anyone or anything that lives long enough...even a god.
The only thing that can break Genshin is a low-spec mobile phone.

I recently got Genshin (read: a few months ago) and wanted to see if there was anything on here about it, and I'm glad there is! Though I think there is actually a way for this to be solved. Morax didn't just get rid of his gnosi, he gave it away. Because of that, it could be possible for the Tsaritsa to access the ability to create mora, and Snezhnaya could become the new source of the world's money
So I’ve had all sort of theories about this; I feel like with the direction we’re headed, we’re probably going to confront the Tsaritsa eventually, and maybe get Zhongli’s Gnosis back, along with Venti’s. And while we know very little about how Gnosis are bestowed, we do know that Archons can be replaced, because Rex Lapis and Barbatos are often referred to as the last of the original 7 archons. So for all we know, a new Geo Archon could be chosen and could avert the incoming mora crisis. Idk, I just think with all the other plot points, it would be wild for Hoyo-verse to add “total economic collapse” on top of everything. 😅🤷🏻♀️

@@WarrenReport he explains it in the video. It's not deflation it's the same concept as us burning our money after using it and never making more. I highly doubt that will happen but the world would eventually literally run out of Mora because Zhongli said "alright so i'm gonna head out"
@@bokuhoe4435 if mora starts to disappear, the economy would adapt to it, that is, prices would get smaller and smaller. Mora is a terrible currency precisely because it can be used as a material, adopting something exclusively for monetary use and that was deflationary (do not increase your monetary base) would be a good thing, and not as matt says that deflation is always bad and caused the crisis of 29 (which has to do with interest rate manipulation)

...and this is the video that got me intrigued about genshin.
i remember id been seeing it more frequently online and i thought it was just like a raid shadow legends situation, or it just happened to get more popular. it was only seeing this on my recommended that i was like 'if game theory's covering it, it must be something worth checking out'
i think from there i kind of dabbled around it, looking into it w/ genshin cc's and trailers and stuff like that. then my friends are going mental about it and insist i play it, and around september is when i started playing.

But isn't that also tied to this theory? Since mora is a catalist, some part of it still gets absorbed by the environment during reaction, just like energy. So, it could be that nature absorbes micro geo particles and they travel through the ecosystem of trees, until they get stuck somewhere and begin to get stored there. Think of it like of a blood clot in our bodies
this makes me think that the system of harvesting world bosses, domains, and especially yellow leylines is basically refunding or rolling back everything owned by the monsters defeated. from the mora within their personal level - to the mora within the level of their weapons and accessories. that's why everything dropped from them is level 1 because it was rolled back to level 1 and the mora returned. the only thing is, though mora is extracted, the level is no longer refunded into exp books.
assuming a 100% refund system, the world can still thrive, only in a finite amount of resources. a finite maximum potential to be collected

2. While doing the yellow leylines why do the monsters still drop more even though there stuff is supposed to be rolled back? (This could also be because the stuff isn’t getting rolled back unless the leyline is defeated.

So that they can refund it for mora, because, I’m pretty sure exp is infinite. (1.Though this can also not 100% true if monsters can’t actually get exp from the same way we do, but then how do they upgrade there equipment? So if they do upgrade it some other way we can most likely do it aswell, and then not have to use mora?

I didn't know game theory did an episode but tbh, I'd love to see more genshin theories. Enkonomiya lore is so cool, I'd love to see something about it, tho I'm not holding my breath. There's a lot of things you need to dig through for lore and a lot of gameplay you need to do for that lore

It is possible in terms of the story that the Ley Lines are only where the enemy creatures gather because of the imbalance of elemental energy and in these yellow ones they just happen to be treasure hoarding types. So it could just be we're taking Mora that they pillaged and no Mora is actually being produced.

Can you make a theory about Khaenri'ah? It was an advanced country underground destroyed by the archons. The country when you search it up is a purple sky with flowers and a purple castle. You have to scroll further down to find it. Most images are of it being red and covered in lava and red blocks. When it's destroyed. They used something called Khemia to survive. Can you make a theory about why it's destroyed?

there’s more in the ley lines, you use resin to get mora from them, resin can be bought with primo gems, adventurers guild has primos for commission rewards. If we assume that everyone in teyvat gets a resin every 8 minutes, just have a tax or smthn where all the capable fighters are required to do a ley line every day or however often. Zhongli prob isn’t pulling mora out of nothing, he’s pulling it out of the ley lines
