Matt, if you are still in London, go to the Canton restaurant just off Chinatown. It's more like a cafe than a posh restaurant but the food is great. Try the barbecue duck, yum.

Brutal. At $200, it had damn well be a destination dining experience, not a throwaway snack. I hope they're shamed into either upping their quality or lowering their prices, and if they don't, well that's on you, Londoners.

I love the content, but I have an idea to offer. I think the music you're using works really well with the intro, but I would personally ditch it elsewhere. I would say during the actual video you're better off using something more mellow and Jazzy which I think would go perfectly with this kind of content. Just my personal opinion.

Honest review...
I have been to Roka twice and while stuff like taste is subjective, the service was actually nothing like you described. I mean to get **salmon** wrong? They must've changed massively since 2013 which is when I last went there. Both times they were very conversational, made suggestions that were excellent and the food didn't take too long to be served.
The price was really high (hence we I haven't been back for so long, though I spend much less time in London nowadays) but the quality was there in my opinion. However, I only had nigiri, maki and sashimi selections and your other choices here seemed massively overpriced (the scallops! my god). I will say though that the service charge is a common thing in London and definitely not exclusive to this restaurant.

I hope you know that everyone who eats here does so on the company card. I work in the area, and have visited (with my own wallet). Absolutely correct analysis. Would be good for a 3rd of the price.

OK, there is a Japanese restaurant in Chicago called Roka Akor with a couple of other locations in the US. If they are affiliated with the place in the UK, there is no indication on the website. While it is not a cheap place, the London restaurant seems way out of line. If you make it to Chicago, we'll go to the local restaurant together and you can compare. The whole restaurant gives me Patrick Bateman Dorsia vibes. All external swanky looks but no substance or quality on the inside, as you said just cuz it’s located in a swanky business district they think they can overcharge for mediocre fish.
Matt, I forgot - if you want great takeaway sushi go to Wasabi. Cheap and delicious.
£15 is much less than US$30: more like $22. I don't think it's been two US dollars to the pound any time in the last 30 years. (I guess maybe you were doing an approximate conversion from pounds to Australian dollars to US dollars and the errors compounded.)
