BEST Glamping in Addis Ababa / Entoto Park

  • The fact that a massive capital city like Addis Ababa in Ethiopia has a luxury camp which makes you feel like you are in the middle of the forest, is simply amazing! This is Kuriftu Resort and Spa on Mount Entoto.
    For only $100usd per night per tent, you get a very cozy canvas tent similar to what you would get in a luxury safari camp anywhere in Africa. With a comfy bed, hot water, electric blanket and the fresh air, you're going to sleep like a baby.
    But this is not all. Mount Entoto in Addis is the ultimate entertainment center. With your stay, you'll have access to the sauna, hot tubs and relaxing area of the fantastic Forest Spa. This facility is one of the most beautify made spa complex we have ever seen. But that is far from being all you can do on top of Mount Entoto! They have restaurants, shops, a go-kart track, rock climbing, tree parkour, ziplining, paintball and so much more. If you have kids, are like us are kids at heart, you're going to have the best time!
    Also, remember that when in Ethiopia, eat like Ethiopians. The "international" food at the Kuriftu restaurant is very average compared to the DELICIOUS Ethiopian food, especially the tibs with injera that they serve. Don't forget to finish your meal with a typical Ethiopian Coffee Ceremony as well.

    As a Kenyan who's been to Ethiopia several times, I knew that you would enjoy Ethiopia and surely I wasn't wrong. Entoto park is on another level kudos to the creative mind of Dr Abiy Ahmed whose ideas has helped transform Addis Ababa into a world class city. I hope to set a few days to visit this place when I visit Ethiopia next time. What a nice vlog.

    • @douglaswamburu2920
      @douglaswamburu2920 Před rokem +1

      @@DaveMani In Kenya such a camp cannot be built because Ethiopia having previously been a communist country, the Ethiopia government owns virtually all the land including forests and can do whatever it likes with the land. Kenya on the other hand having been a democratic capitalist country with strong environmental conservation organisations , public land including forests cannot be tampered with easily hence an idea to build a camp at Karura forest as noble as it may, will be met with court injunctions from those environmental organisations.

    So happy to see you guys having fun and great weekend at Entoto❤️❤️. Yeah the English language barrier is high in Ethiopia than any other African country because we never been colonized with any western or foreigners, unlike All other African countries. Basically pretty much most of everything is indigenous which is the main factor for most people to don’t care much to know English language.

    I believe that you are all becoming very close to Ethiopians, and out of all the places you have been, this country is the best use of your time. I just have a small comment about the issue of the English language barrier. In my opinion, you believe that everyone in the world should speak or understand English. However, language is simply a means of communication - there shouldn't be a hierarchy attached to it. That is my opinion, and I apologize if it was offensive.

    • @DaveMani
      @DaveMani  Před rokem +1

      We for sure don't believe that at all but comparing to all the other African countries we have visited, Ethiopia was the hardest for us in terms of language. That does not mean that I think Ethiopian should learn english or not. It was just an observation. In fact I think its important for the country to preserve such a unique language. 🇪🇹👍🏼

      @@DaveMani Well, thank you for your reply. I agree with your observations regarding preserving general language. In my opinion, learning some of the local language wherever you visit is part of the fun of traveling rather than asking to learn a language that may not be relevant. To be honest, trying to speak a bit of every language wherever you go adds excitement to the experience. Bear in mind comparing Ethiopia to other African countries, it is observed that in daily life, most of them use English as their office language which they inherited from their colonial masters.🙏

    As a visitor to Ethiopia, it's important to respect and appreciate the cultural and religious practices of the country. The morning prayer conducted by the Ethiopian Orthodox Church holds great significance for the local people and plays a vital role in blessing the country and ensuring the safety of its citizens and visitors alike. It is not simply a "disturbing chanting," but rather a deeply rooted religious practice.
    The morning prayer is intended to keep everyone, including foreign visitors, safe during their stay in Ethiopia. It is a way of invoking blessings and safeguarding the country from harm. Rather than complaining about this traditional practice, it would be more appropriate to understand its importance and significance within the local culture.
    Comparing the morning prayer to noise pollution or labeling it as a disturbance is unfair and disrespectful. Just as emergency sirens in your home country play a crucial role in saving lives, the morning prayer in Ethiopia serves a similar purpose. It is a means of ensuring the well-being and security of all individuals residing in the country.
    Instead of complaining, it would be better to embrace the rich cultural diversity of Ethiopia and recognize the positive intentions behind the morning prayer. By doing so, you can have a more meaningful and enjoyable experience while staying in the country.
    It's important to remember that tolerance, respect, and open-mindedness are key when visiting any foreign destination. Rather than feeling disappointed or insulted by differing practices, let's strive for understanding and appreciation of one another's traditions and beliefs.

      After reading your comment, I watched that part again, and I think you got it wrong. If you watch all their videos, they've been nothing but respectful of the country and culture.
      As to chantering, they just simply talked about their night experience.
      Give them credit for the night they had and their positivity.

      This place is for tourist to visit, if you were visiting and woken up by chanting at 3am you would be confused too. It’s the hotels fault for not letting them know what to expect
