Don't be afraid to change the pattern up either. The same idea works great for most of the larger mayflies- isonychia, green and brown drakes, march browns, etc.
This is a Great looking Cahill with the extended tail. I’m going to tie some up for my box. Thank you for showing this tutorial.
Thank you so much for all of these videos. They are by far the best I have found on CZcams and they help me with tons of flies. Keep making them please!!
Thanks - best explanation of how to tie an extended body that I have seen.
Your videos are amazing. So simple to watch but tells you everything you need. Absolutely fantastic. Keep it up buddy
Tim I really appreciate this pattern and it has become my go to for almost all mayfly presentations. I have modified it to add a "wally wing" set of wings and a little CDC around the thorax to suggest legs. Last week I did an up sized and color appropriate version on a #8 hook to fish on the Hex hatch on the AuSable river in my home state of Michigan with very good success. This is such a great fly , its like a secret weapon!
Thanks for the vid, snow shoe rabbit is a magical material! For wing or dubbing it's my favorite stuff and it takes the dye very well!
Love the fly and the music thanks, all the best Paul.
whole new way to think about a mallard flank feather. outstanding video, thanks!
I love your vids. I'm new to tying and of all the videos on youtube these are definately the most descriptive and easy to understand. (no accent ha) If i could give any criticism it would be to add a material list to the video description. Thanks again!
that is a fantastic way to tie an extended body, gotta try that. Thanks for sharing that tip.
Mike
Excellent looking fly and the extended body made from a feather is much lighter in weight than foam.
Wow ,that's a great fly
4:43 If they fish better then they look it must fish FANTASTIC :)
I’ve got a bunch of mallard feathers so I’m going to see about making a half dozen of these guys. Maybe with a Wally wing instead since it’s more of a mayfly wing shape. Like a spent oke
Fantastic video thanks
Very cool fly, looks easy. Going to tie with Veterans , Platte River Project Healing Waters. They will really enjoy it. Thanks We have a rabbits foot and wondering what to tie with it LOL....
Wow! Love it. How come I can't break my thread with my fingers... I see everybody doing this, but I must have weak fingers or something.
i think it only works on lighter threads
Nice job!
great pattern
Love the looks of this pattern! would white kip tail work for the wing?
This I will try.
excellent !!!
Would CDC or Antron also work for the wing? Very slick way to make a body and tail!
Great video. What is the soundtrack you used for the video?
Great video!! Is this a dry fly? I am new to fly fishing.
yes this is a dry joel krueger
Probably the most effective shape on internet. Then there will be the 90 % about presentation, but it is another chapter…
Супер.
Would calf tail fibers work as well as the rabbit's foot for the wing? If not, what other materials could be used?
very nice ,your fly is fantastical ,thanks for that tip
fifi01 ( france , lyon)
Could you do one in size 8 on a hopper hook to simulate the hexigina hatch?
Великолепно 👍
When would be the best month to fish this?
Что сказать мушки изумительные . Руки золотые . Очень поучительно .
lol pushes his barbless ways upon us. 😂
Anthony Pikyavit why use a barb though?
Is this supposed to resemble a may fly nymph?
It is supposed to resemble an adult mayfly or dun which rides in the surface film of the water.
+tightlinevideo thank you and have a good day
Super excited to tie these
finish the fly.....
