This is something that’s definitely real with Nina even with her fans. I genuinely always loved Nina. Every time she was on live I just reminded her how much she is loved, but she always downplayed it with a self destructive “joke”. She really lacks confidence which is so sad.
Many people do and there's usually a reason for it.
It sucks to see Nina go to such a self destructive place during the season. When you have these feelings of doubt, self sabotage is a real thing and you push away the people that support you - either directly or indirectly and it just really sucks for everyone involved

I believe Nina ijs how she was treated on untucked was so ugly. I felt for her. You can’t just turn off depression and she tried to tell everyone that.
Yeah it's definitely frustrating to be on the receiving end of that, genuinely trying to support someone who is convinced you have ulterior motives, but all you can really do is calmly say "I understand you feel that way, but I assure you my intent has never been to hurt you" because if you get angry they'll just come away from it feeling like their suspicions were confirmed "see, just as I thought nobody likes me"
S9 is full of fake ass ppl & Nina saw through that.
I mean yeah be compassionate for someone’s issues, but it doesnt excuse her dishonesty at that time. That’s just enabling. Shea was solid and valid for her response.
Not to be ableist but don't fucking compete if you have depression. It's a serious illness and it hurts those around you as well.

Okay, but I feel that where she care up with the “Shae doesn’t think I’m funny” was when Shae wrote a joke about how “if you liked my performance, my name is Shae Couleé, but if you didn’t I am Nina Bonina Brown” or something similar to that,,, which she probably took personally because of her paranoia which I’m pretty sure was made because of the cliquey Antlanta Drag Scene

Like I said...Nina has some deep issues deep down, and her way of consoling herself is shutting down. Especially when she feels threatened or looked down upon. It's nothing personal but Nina needs to work on those issues and empower herself...she's on reality tv! That's super far and her talents got her there...one day she'll see.

It's so interesting to see the girls glow up over time. Better haircuts, new teeth, more extravagant outfits. Drag Race, regardless of where you finish, is a life changing opportunity.
I think Nina needs to shake that mentality of 'everyone is against me' because it's not doing her any good.
it's not that easy. you cant just fix depression and the mindset of it that easily. it takes a lot of therapy and work.

@@cherryfairyy you name it depression, but her behaviour is characteristic of people with schizophrenia (which is treatable). She obviously has paranoid delusions about people. She invents conversations and fully "hears" and believes they happened. Just because we can explain her behaviour doesn't mean that it justifies it. Having a mental health problem doesn't give you a free pass to treat other people with disrespect.
Matt M i highly doubt she has schizophrenia. you can’t diagnose her from what you see on a reality show....... she said that she has depression, and you also highly mischaracterize schizophrenia. feeling like everyone is out to get you or like the world is against you sometimes is far different than having visual/auditory hallucinations (like hearing voices) and extremely disordered thinking and behavior that makes it difficult to function from day to day. it’s 10000% possible for people without schizophrenia to hear things wrong, mischaracterize words/intent, or that they can not remember a situation exactly, but rather remember how they felt and fill in the blanks from there. it’s a normal human thing: not everyone has eidetic memory.

This clip it's being appearing to me this year, and let's make a point right now .. when i saw season 9 at that time, in the cheerleader challenge when Eureka gets eliminate Nina said in the workroom " and now my ankle start to feels a little better" she thought that that was joke but no, immediately Farrah said something rude and out of the blue with a nasty attitude said "oh do you really wanna be here!?" Of course Nina don't take that well and she responded back a the rest is history , however Peppermint said in recent years that "oh everyone was injured i that challenge, bc no body it's a professional doing that kinda stuff ", confirming not only that Nina was indeed injury like everyone else and she was making a joke, bc if you have a visible injure you could be out of the competition, that narrative was well hide from the producers , then you see how this narrative of Nina being portrait by the same producers as this self centered down, grown men that have this nasty attitude was push, but then y'all all the sames that proclaim Mental Issues are real issues.. (it's funny) and more funny it's to see in retrospective all of this, this narrative of Nina is the most horrendous and malicious stuff that the producers make in the whole RPDR history, and i can count more and more of that type .. but this is the perfect example.
It infuriates me how the drag race community likes to pick sides and doesn't knowledge the amount of mental torture that Nina went through from the other queens specifically from Shea and her fake off-camera persona , but what can you say ... fake it till you make it

TBH I have the biggest crush oh Shea, in and out of drag.
Y'all dragged nina three years ago, but she is right. It wasn't her "Inner Sabouteur", it was depression. You can't just turn off depression when people tell you to, she is entitled to feel the way she feels, and it was ignorant of the others to treat her like she was crazy instead of realizing the real issue at hand
But how many times can someone say I love be strong and have it go from one ear to the other then be told you running your mouth on that very person you tried to help
An explanation is not a justification. You may be able to explain Nina's behaviour as depression, but that doesn't justify her treating people that way. Depression is not a free pass to be disrespectful to others

nina was dealing with mental health and it made her treat herself and those around her badly. i can acknowledge her pain while simultaneously acknowledging the hurt she caused others.
some people call shea unfair because “mental health” but dealing with other people’s mental health can be draining as well, even if you love them dearly.
from shea’s eyes, she tried hard to be there for nina and nina appeared ungrateful and treated shea like she was a bad person. shea defended herself, rightfully, and ultimately removed herself from nina for her own mental health.
from nina’s eyes, everyone had it out for her and was fake and shady. mental health can skew our perception of reality and it’s very terrifying to deal with.
while i believe nina was in the wrong, i understand she was hurting. it’s not an excuse, just an explanation.

Season 9 was the nastiest season yet. Apart from Trinity, these New York queens though talented in their own rights, were so insecure to the point where they had resorted to mind games to try to bring other queens like Nina and Valentina down so they can secure their spots at the top. 🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️

Shea took too much spotlight its actually disgusting .
