      NAT GEO literally has a episode called “Kangaroo’s….. in Trees??” And it was posted way before this dropped. You just became a nat geo fan way to late, they already had those animals before anyone else

      Neither did I, including living in Australia for over 3 years and never having heard of the Tree Kangaroos living in Far Northern Queensland.

    The Tree Kangaroo is beautiful, and seems to be very sweet tempered. I just hope, they don't become the new thing, and illegally poached by nefarious people who don't care.

    I am a bit confused as she said that tree kangaroos are found in Tropical North Queensland as per the Australian Government Dept of Environment. As you drive along roads in the Atherton Tablelands you will see signs warning of tree kangaroos.

      There are a few different species of tree kangaroo, two species reside only in FNQ, the Bennets and the Lumholtz.

    It's like the cutest animal ever. It's a shame it has to wear that ugly thing on its neck, and it must be scary to get caught in a bag, but then again, they seem very respectful and loving towards the little guy, and they're doing great work.

    Other parts of Papua New Guinea especially Sarawagat rangs in Morobe province a habitation to the endangered Matschie tree Kangaroos need to be protected too.

    I don't mean to be rude or dismissive, but this seems incredibly invasive? Not to mention how enormous the collar is, that has to be a burden for the animal. How did this get through an ethical commission? I'm all for conservation effort, however there are rules around invasiveness that exist for a reason.

      Hi....just an FYI - they are being hunted to extinction and also their habitat has been decimated due to Indonesian Palm Oil coming in and destroying West Papuan rainforest and selling it off without permision from Indigenous land owners -so a tracking collar is the least of the problems of genus Dendrolagus - the tree kangaroo

      @tekajikuyalkrul5111 Say an uber race of aliens is observing the Earth and decides that humans are about to self-annihilate, which is not such an outlandish proposition. They then come down from space, capture a viable human population (which could be you or a loved one) and remove the humans to a "safe" habitate, which would inevitably be a cage. How would you feel about that?
      Humans feel like they are capable of making such decisions about other lifeforms. Hubris, I call it. Humans should gain some humility and perspective and stop interfering.
