Why am I watching this?I dont know a lick of French
Shame!!!!!
Trust me I'm french and I don't understand what the french women's translators are saying ! French people are to lazy to learn english and reading french subtitles, so we have boring translators 😅
Tahiri Perera - Because you wanted to hear Timothée speaking French 😜
I don’t either, I’m just here cause I wanted to hear Timmy speaking French
I translated :)
I'm here just to listen to Timothee speaking French. It's so beautiful.
He has a strong American accent, if I didn't know he is half French I wouldn't believe it, but still nice to hear
@@camillednt1502 As a French i think he has a quite high level for a French that grew up abroad.
Il se démerde franchement pas mal, si tu grandis à New York c'est chaud d'avoir l'occasio ne serait-ce que de pratiquer l'oral ! :)
He struggles a little bit because he speaks more english than french on a daily basis.
Faut pas abuser, il a pas un "fort" accent américain, he just speaks it a bit awkwardly. Pronunciation is generally fine, he just messes up words and verbs. Ce qui est tout à fait normal.
Camille Dnt nope, c’est pas vrai. Son accent est plutôt normal
when u arent french and try to hear what saoirses is saying behind that french dub
Mel Tennant trust me even we French speakers wish they would just put subtitles because the translators sounds on weed or something 😂
😂
I literally speak French and only listened to their voice behind the dub bc I hate watching anything with French dub. It’s just awful

Lmao Saoirse will be 80 years old and would still get asked about how to pronounce her name...
Michelle Mostovlanski How tf do I pronounce ur last name ?
Jason Mason 😂😂😂
I am thinking of naming my baby after her lol
Mau Reen How cruel
dafttool is it? lol its nice and unique 😆
I love how consfused Saoirse and Florence are

English translation below (I'm French, I did my best, please forgive any mistakes). AE is the blond woman, the speaker. Marion is the brown woman.
-Intro-
Welcome to CAVOUS. Here I am with the whole team : Marion, Pierre, Maxime, Patrick. We’re about to welcome three of the most talented actors of the younger generation : Timothée Chalamet - the youngest actor to be nominated for the Oscars since 80 years ago-, Saoirse Ronan - 25, already Golden Globe award-winning, and three-times nominated to the Oscars- and Florence Pugh, discovered in “The Young Lady” when she was 20 and already a Marvel hero, standing next to Scarlett Johansson. (0:41)
All three are reunited in a new adaptation of the famous American classic : Little Women.
-Trailer-
(1:59) TC, SR and FP, welcome to the show. Let me introduce you to the whole team, here is Maxime, Pierre, Marion and Patrick.
(2:23) Of course, Timothée says “salut” because he’s French. Well, you’re French with your father.
T : Yes, my father is French.
AEL : Did you get the time to show Paris to Saoirse and Florence ?
T: Actually, we’re going to a football game after the show.
AE: Really ?
Pierre : You’re going to see PSG vs Galatasaray ? Wow ! You’ll bring us good luck, I’m sure.
AE: Do you like football, girls?
Saoirse: Yes, I mean I do, I wouldn’t say I’m a huge fan … but somebody gives me a ticket, I’ll go. So, I’m very excited.
AE: Usually, the first time young tourists come to Paris, they’d visit the Eiffel Tower and rarely go to the ‘Parc des Princes’ [French stadium] (laugh). What do you want me to say? Let’s focus for a second on pronunciation. Saoirse, the pronunciation of your name led to many reactions. Please, tell me I pronounce well. No, I’m sure I don’t say it right.
Saoirse : I think for French, if you want to pronounce it in a French way, it’s correct. In Ireland, we would say [Saoirse] but you guys can say [Saoirse]. And actually, it means “liberty” so you could say that as well.
T: And Florence means “equality” right? [reference to a French motto) (laughs)
(3:59)
(4:20)
AE: And you also sing very well. When it comes to you, Florence, the pronunciation is easy. However, your family name is more complicated. It’s [Peug] when here in France we’d pronounce it [Pug].
Florence: I know, I know. And Spanish say “Pooh”, which is not very elegant either, but you know, I try my best to explain, that it’s not ‘Pooh’.
AE: Did you three know each other before?
T: Both Saoirse and I played in a movie, called Lady Bird and I met Florence two years ago, for dinner in London.
F: At a party, yes.
T: Yeah, a dinner-party. We were the only young people there.
AE: Oh ? There were only older people ?
T: Yes, very respectfully but yes, besides us, they were older.
AE: And between Saoirse and you, Timothée, can we say it’s a ‘bromance’?
Saoirse: (laughs) Is it bromance? I don’t know, maybe.
T: Maybe.
Saoirse: Yes. Clearly it is. I think we’re very similar to Jo and Laurie.
AE: Yes, she hit you a lot in the movie and now, she’s doing it again (laughs). Maybe you’re annoying, Timothée.
Saoirse: Haha, yes, I do that a lot.
Marion: I guess you all three already knew ‘Little Women’ before you were invited to play in this movie. Florence, I think your grandmother read the book with you when you were a child, but she hated Amy, the character you play in the movie, right? (6:02)
Florence: (laugh) She didn’t quite hate Amy, she would look up from the book when she was reading the book and Amy was doing something bad, so I think she quite liked her and so do I.
Marion: Saoirse, it feels like everybody wants to be Jo, right? Every young girl, even you Timothée, wants to be Jo. Everyone wants to cut their hair, right? Don’t you have this feeling, too?
Saoirse: Yeah, I think so. I mean, Patti Smith, for example, owes her whole career as a writer to Jo March and Louisa has just left an heritage and she’s such a huge part of who Jo is. I think we’re still catching up to Jo March. So, to get the opportunity to show her life to this generation and I hope, that for our kids in 10 years, I think it’s important.
Marion: One of the cinematographic adaptations of the novel dates from 1994, with Winona Ryder, Kirsten Dunst and Christian Bale. I won’t ask if one of you saw it in the movie, because you weren’t born at the time (laughs). But one can say that these actors have had pretty amazing careers, that they are loved. (7:47) Do you think that this movie brings luck? I know you met Christian Bale, Timothée.
T: Yes, I even worked with him
AE: He played the same character as you.
T: Yes, indeed. They are such incredible actors. Christian Bale, that’s … For me, there is Christian Bale, there is Joaquin Phoenix, there is Leonardo DiCaprio. They are the giants. But I also think that the story is particularly important, … I’m trying to find appropriate words in French but French words don’t come easily.
AE: You can say in English.
T: There are problems that existed in the 1800s, these were tough times and Greta Gerwig, the film director (who’s also an amazing actress) made an incredible work. And the next time, I’ll come here, I’ll say it’s an incredible movie, as well?
Saoirse: And she’s at the football match. (8:54)
Marion: By the way, Greta describes you, Timothée, as something between C. Bale, Daniel Day Lewis DiCaprio. Do you agree with her?
T: Noooo!
Saoirse: I mean, you dress like Daniel Day Lewis. He is one of our best actors, he is, I’ve worked with him twice in two very different movies and it’s very interesting to work with him, as well as with Florence. You know, the thing I love about him is that we’re both very different actors and it’s very interesting to see what will come out and to watch him go and from strength to strength.
[T shows the ring S is wearing]
T: It’s from the movie, right?
Saoirse: Yes, it’s the ring, that represents our friendship in the movie.
AE: And your Florence, did you keep anything from the movie? One of the extravagant dress that you wear?
Florence: Haha, I wish, they wouldn’t fit in my suitcase. No, I don’t think I did, I think I managed to steal a ribbon. But no, all of our costumes have gone into hiding because there are obviously precious. Maybe, one day, if I’m keep on asking, they’ll give them to me.
AE: As Timothée just said, it’s a timeless story because it deals with women emancipation. It’s a feminist scenario. Amy and Jo both have strong characters. They know what they want and it’s still important today, to carry such a message. Right, Florence?
Florence: Totally, I think that from my perspective on this film, this was certainly a great opportunity to rethink, as an actress, her character. For many years, people hated her. Greta gave Amy the opportunity to be better understood and maybe to have her own fans, who may even relate to her, while it was not possible in previous adaptations.
T: In previous adaptations, Amy is more like a cosmetic character.
AE: And here, she’s seen as purposeful and she ends up choosing love.
T: Yes, it’s one of the big themes of the movie. [One of the journalists shouts ‘spoils’] (11:47). Haha, yes.
AE: Oh no, there is no way it was a spoil, this is such a classic!
T: Yes, exactly, the story is 150 years old.
Maxime: Well, I didn’t know.
AE: Oh, he didn’t read the book… I ruined everything for Maxime (laughs).
Pierre: Apparently, during the rehearsals, Greta wanted you to dance. I believe that you, Florence, were on stage. But she wanted you to dance, not as an icebreaker, but so that you’d feel even more comfortable. Is it true?
T: Exactly. We danced with Saoirse but also with Emma Watson. We were in some kind of dance studio and we danced for one or two hours.
Saoirse: And it was freezing cold.
T: For the rehearsals, for the rehearsals.
Saoirse: Oh, yes. We rehearsed quite a bit, it was part of our prep. The first time Laurie and Jo meet, there is so much electricity. It was quite funny so for me, these dancing steps were a very great way to to define the relation between the characters.
Pierre: You learned to dance Thriller? Because the steps were very well made!
T: Thank you. Thank you. But, if you can be ugly in front or your partner, then you’re less insecure.
Pierre: There is also music. You played the piano in ‘Call me by your name’.
(13:54)
Pierre: Is it really you Timothée?
T: It is. I learned a lot with a man named Roberto Solchi, who lives in a small village called Crema in Italy.
AE: Timothée is a musician. But you sing very well Saoirse. And Florence, under the pseudonym Flossie Rose, you play the guitar. You all three could be a band.
(Laughs) (14:20)
Florence: When I was younger, my Mum did not quite understand the whole CZcams thing. She thought it was some kind of storage thing. So I had guitar lessons and I had quite a number of fans.
T: Oh Florence, that’s.
AE: Moms who don’t understand how new technologies work!
Pierre: Saoirse, Florence, you must know that if you spend your first Parisian night at the ‘Parc des Princes’, tonight, it’s definitely not the first time for Timothée. When he spent his holidays at his grandmother’s, he loved football, he loved the ‘Saint-Etienne’ Team. [To T] You loved a particular French football player, named Jimmy Briand. You even had a poster of him in your bedroom.
Timothée: Yes, it’s true. He also played for Rennes and for the French team. But I want to say this : I carry Saint-Etienne’s team in my heart and I mean that because my French family is proud of this team. I love football, we’re in Paris so tonight, we’ll go to the ‘Parc des Princes’. I’m very happy to be invited to the ‘Parc des Princes’ but Saint-Etienne will always have my heart. (laughs)
Pierre: Jimmy Briand still plays football, in Bordeaux and he’s got a message for you.
Timothée: No way!
Jimmy: Hello T, Jimmy speaking. Next time you’ll be in France and have some free time, come to Bordeaux, come see a football game and visit the region. I wish you all the best. See you!
Timothée: Wouah! Thank you for this. Thank you Jimmy and I’ll take upon that offer(?).
Marion: Let’s discuss another interesting passion. Florence loves cactus. Here is ‘Barry for you [shows the cactus].
Florence: Is that for me?
Saoirse: What a funny-looking cactus!
Florence: I have to say, I had a cactus, that I named Barry in my garden and Barry was about to die. I had been told to cut the head of the cactus so I did surgery on my cactus but it was worse, so I was very very sad. So thank you so much for this! (laughs)
Saoirse: It Barry-ful!
AE: On the film set of Black Widow, in which you play with Scarlett Johansson. Business as usual [irony]. We didn’t speak about Saoirse’s Golden Globe, or about her singing skills - there’s a video in which you sing a B. Spears’ song. We had 1000 files of you! 1000 ways to blackmail you (laughs). But no, we will rather prompt the viewers to go to the movies watch ‘Young Women’.

I love that “little women” is “the daughters of doctor march” in french lmao
I've always hated this translation... like their dad isn't even a doctor right ? And he's barely in the story.
CurrerBell take a story about strong women and make the title all about a man... typical lol
Petites femmes does not work. The reason they are on their own and have to fend for themselves ( financially) is because dad is at war - which was a reality for many families and would have inspired the author. They are four daughters which is not that usual - yes it could have been called ' la famille Marsh pendant la guerre civile' except the war does not really feature and the family is not complete. Why don't you people suggest a title ?
the literal translation is "petites femmes" which means prostitutes in French... so you see why they had to change the title for the French edition. But yeah they should have picked something else than a title that suggests they're not their own persons but rather on ly their father's daughters. It's ridiculous
The fact is that "little women" means in french "prostitute" or means lower woman sooooo we prefer to change the title
