On December 4th, 2022, Maker Faire came to Melbourne! This event was huge, with many floors of exhibits across multiple buildings. 5 hours of walking and talking, and I still kept finding new things.
I bumped into a few old friends along the way including Mitch, who was kind enough to give me a detailed explanation of two of his recent projects including a boat autopilot and a yeast growth optimiser.
Another highlight was seeing Samuel's project to link a typewriter to a GPT chatbot, so you can have a conversation with the typewriter. You type messages to it, and it prints out responses to you. Pretty cool!
This is my favourite channel I wish the uploads were a bit frequent but it’s always good rewatching old stuff

It was much bigger than I expected, with some surprising projects. There was one project to use ML to generate soundscapes for paintings that I wish I could have shown, but my footage of it got messed up and was unusable.

Sounds like that autopilot thingy has an NMEA interface. But is it NMEA 0183 or NMEA 2000?
I fixed the sound by casting it to another device, then disconnecting the cast. Or maybe YT had a hiccup streaming a non-audio video to start with? Anyways, yay finally got sound going

Peter also told me he had no sound at first, then loaded it and sound worked! Perhaps it's because it's still processing on the YT side, and they haven't generated optimised versions for different players yet.
Sound is there!
