This was great to watch! I totally get that some layouts just don't feel right. Many feel like there's just homework to do and are really overwhelming. I finally realized that no planner would be exactly perfect. I ended up getting a coil binding machine and ripping the planner I got in half. I rebound the yearly weekly planner into just 6 months (to cover the semester) and setting the other pages aside. Because I have my own coils, I can add shift things around as desired. I also cut down and hoe punched extra paper to go in. I'm totally with you on being able to flip the planner back to make it smaller.
You cannot possibly know how perfect this video was for me on this exact day in my life! Things are too busy to function out of a weekly. I have so many daily options at home and now I know what I’m going to use thanks to you!

When I addd a daily planner I felt like a true planner nerd :) Passion Planner daily is my love. I love the way a soft cover feels in my hands, it lays flat and is so versatile! I hope you are enjoying your career and congrats on meeting your goals!

Congratulations on your nursing achievements. I am studying to be a clinical social worker and this is why my planners are very important to me. I just do not like a huge planner I like something smaller that I can take with me everywhere I go. Thank you for this review

Yay! I’m planning on the same daily but not starting until 2023. Colorblends, too. I originally wanted A5 but leaning to 7x9. I agree that I would prefer the to do list to be longer or at least have dot grid versus a blank area.

I have used most of the planners you mentioned here, and didn’t stick with them for the exact same reasons as you. I also chose the EC a5 Daily Duo for my daily for the coming year, again for the same reasons you did. If Simplified was bound like the EC I would be all over it!! 💕
I would too! I like supporting more than one brand, but EC has something that others don’t offer right now! I wish I could get the simplified on an EC coil!!
Thanks so much for this honest review-- I'm considering moving into an A5 (daily or weekly)-- there are *so many* to choose from that all look amazing, this video was so helpful:) I can totally relate being lured by the really awesome (and often superior) design of many different planners, but the EC paper, coil, interchangeable covers and simple layouts always bring me back!

First part of nursing school was an EC vertical then I switched to Simplified Daily. I love that daily. Love happy stripe and I think she has the best tab colors by far.

Fold-ability - that’s important to me too. I’ve tried a lot of planners and keep coming back to EC - the paper is amazing!
Have you tried Golden Coil? It wouldn’t work for me but I hear it’s super customizable and more plain so you can decorate.
I have! I started off the year with one, but it uses the same coil as simplified. It was beautiful - just not my favorite.

Congrats on your exams and new role!! For wahetever reason, I typically switch daily planners every 3 months so, but in the last quarter, I was probably in a different planner each week! I think I tried every planner you have in this video and I've felt similar about each one. Since I was flipping between planners so offen the past few months, I decided to cut some pages out of original planners and put them all on discs to try out (similar to you, my planner has to flip back on itself). I'm curious if I will like the simplified pages on discs more compared to the original binding. Even if I do like it better it will break my heart not to use one of their gorgeous covers with it... but I also can't stand how bulky the hard cover and wire-o are.
That's a good thought! I have tried discs in the past, and I have a love/hate relationship with them, but maybe I should try it out!! thank you!

A lil sad you didn’t pick simplified ha nah its just a joke. When i first starting using it in January the wire O/cover is the reason i almost stopped using it 😓 but its been 6 full months now and its my favorite planner. Ive gotten used to maneuvering the cover. If only they did coil lol

Just wish they'd do a softcover or make a daily version of the at-a-glance product .The wire-o doesn't bother me, but the hardcover is not portable at all.

Hi Hannah, I was just wondering if you've tried a Plum Paper Daily? It comes in the standard 3 sizes, and their dailies are an Hourly Daily, and regular Daily - also in 6 month or 12 month.
I've tried some pages from an EC weekly a couple times, but just couldn't make full use of it. I've been in a couple Happy Planners, and even Recollections ones - mainly because I've never been able to afford the Makselife or too many others. Plum Paper, so far I've found my peace with because of all the customization options with it. (i can even send you a discount too)
But I was just only wondering if you've ever tried a Plum Paper - or if you'd be willing to try one. :)
That is so awesome that you found something that works for you! I have a similar issue with Plum Paper that I do with some of these others - too much going on in a day. I really just want times and a to do list. But - I know it is super popular and people love it!

When you just use some days, do you keep those planners? And then in the daily, do you rip out the ones you didn't use? I'm never sure what do to with extra planners!
I keep them on hand for comparisons and reviews. If I didn't do this for a job, I would probably donate them or give them to my kiddos.

I'm just getting into planning and I have to mention that this entire video was really confusing because there seems to be an assumption that everyone will know exactly the planner brand names you're talking about. Several times I went down to the links and couldn't find whatever planner you were talking about because they had different names. For instance, the one you chose I was so excited to link to, but Color Blends daily duo (what you called it) was nowhere to be found. Is that the Erin Condrin Daily Duo? Because the inside page says LifePlanner, but there's no link for that either. Frustrating!

Yes it's the erin condren daily duo is the planner layout and color blends is the design. Sometimes when I hear things in planner videos that I have never heard of, I'll Google it and also put that phrase in CZcams and something usually pops up. It took me forever to figure out who HCP (HanCanPlan) was and where to get her stickers hahaha that one was tough!

I decided to try out my new Simplified that started on Monday, and I am having a lot of problems with my pen skipping and not writing consistently on the paper. What pen did you use while you were in Simplified?
I use all different kinds of pens. I really love the Sarasa Dry.
