IIRC In the manga Kite was the one to tell Gon his father was alive; starting his whole journey.
The reason why Gon is so emotional is he has a larger attachment to kite that isnt shown well in anime only.
This was shown in the 1999 version, I’d recommend that you watch it, there’s a lot of contextual scenes that have been removed in the reboot which is really a big ❓ why they removed it, they are pretty important. Gon’s relationship to kite, Pakunoda’s death to name a few there’s a lot more.
Niquey, you're forgetting that Killua comes from a family of assassins and is the prodigy of that family. It is only natural to Killua to remain calm in all situations, as his past as an assassin calls for him to keep his emotions in check and to not have attachments.
Gon has only ever had emotional attachments, while Gon is the first emotional attachment Killua has ever had. Killua could potentially act the same way as Gon if it was Gon that needed healing.
Throughout the show they switch morals and how they process who to kill. Killua making friends with an ant and gon giving in to rage, compared to killua shanking those guys on the airship in the beginning and how gons filled with joy and carefree when his friend is an assassin 😂
So excited to check back in and see the later ep reactions, it's only gonna get better 😊
Gon and Killua were both close with Kite they both spent the same amount of time together
The only difference is that Gon has another layer of connection to him
and Killua doesn’t react the same way to death and injury as ‘normal people’ do, because of his childhood before Hunter exam. He’s using that to be the calm one here bc there is no way Gon could be calm now.
Gon said some horrible things to Killua that he would never say if he was calm.
Killua left the room after that because the words hurt him. He knows Gon is only acting that way bc of rage but it’s hard for Killua to witness that side of him.
Edit: I didn’t mention it but by another layer I mean that Kite is connected to Gon’s dad and has the connection to his past
That's not true, gon did spend more time with kite in the manga. They just cut it put in 2011 anime...for some odd reason
I would say gon spent more time with Kite. Anime doesn't show this, but Gon's journey starts with Kite explaining everything.

2011 version pre Chimera ant Arc feels really rushed the only thing that is better are the fight scenes but thats already a given cause of the advancement in technology. But in terms of context, atmosphere, world building and character development 1999 version have done it better.
The one in the middle and the one on the left definitely felt Gon's pain. The one on the right got too caught up trying to be a reaction youtuber. This episode is one of the greatest episodes of the show if not of anime. Way too intense to do anything but just sit and listen.
