It’s perfectly fine to argue that Foden is better than Saka or even that he’s been better this season, but it’s just not true to say that Saka is nowhere near him. People are so blinded by aesthetics it’s like they lose their mind when they see a good central player
Actually that segment when Steve called Rice a ‘work man like’ midfielder and thought it was ridiculous that a fancy technical player wasn’t the best player in the league proves this

    Saka 27 games, 13g 8a
    13 chances created
Idiot to say Foden is miles above Saka. Saka has a better defensive work rate as well. They are close, but Saka edges him. Not by levels either. Again, they are close.
As far as consistency and importance to team.
1 - Rice - Hasnt missed a game for injury or suspension. 3 yellows.
2 - Rodri - If he wasn't hurt or suspended, he'd probably be #1 seeing as City is such a different team without him. His discipline record drops him down tho. 8 yellows and a red.
3 - Saka - No injuries or suspensions and even with that slow start to the year has better stats than Foden. He is relied on when Arsenal are struggling to break a defense.
4 - Salah - With Afcon and his injuries hes had a quiet GREAT year. If he didnt miss as much time, hed be higher. 22 games, 15g 9a, 19 chances created. Hes statistically better than the other attacking players. Hes just missed games.
5 - Foden - Someone had to be last but hes had a good year. Cities most consistent player this year, puts him in third for me behind Rice and Saka but his importance drops him for me. In that City side, bc of their quality his value gets deminished. Like they kinda said if De Bruyne isnt injury prone at this point in his career. Foden is still coming off the bench. Its hard to get passed. He might be more of a rotational player now if De Bruyne is 100% but he wouldnt be a cant drop player for City imo. Hes getting rotated. It's interesting that Foden for the first time has had to step up close to what Saka has had to do his entire career and the manner in which English fans will go to trip over themselves with praise for him is jarring.
Foden is only now shouldering a comparable burden to what Saka has been hefting for several seasons now and the sycophantic adulation for him is all too eager. Saka has been producing incredible numbers in what was a bad to middling to good but naive to now elite Arsenal side; all while moving from left back to right wing for both club and country. Foden has been ensconced in the most pristine footballing environment his entire life while Saka has had to bear the brunt of Arsenal's and England's shortcomings. Not only has Saka risen from each stumbling block but he's actually developed even more as a leader and player while Foden has been handled with kid gloves. There has been no world class midfield maestro to lead the way like KDB or once in a generation talent like Halaand to break records and blaze a trail. Saka has been his own catalyst and mentor while routinely delivering infallible numbers to back up his credentials. Yet Rory with the most shit eating grin gleefully exempts Saka from a list that he most assuredly should be on .

Saka been consistent past few seasons. Foden has shown he can be a part of the the city squad and perform. He has turned up more this season but he was supposed to when de bruyne was injured in the past seasons and hasnt. Saka has just done more for Arsenal than foden has for city. I can agree Foden looks good and is technically a bit better than saka but they both very close than alot making it out to be.

It's crazy how many players could've actually been there. Any top 5 would be great. Imo there were really only 2 statements that were too extreme. One was Rory saying Saka isn't close to Foden and then Turkish saying the league is in a rough place if Foden is the best player 😂
Also...this England team...needs to win the Euros. It's ridiculous how much talent they have.

I usually look forward to listening to rory but today i am disappointed with him.. saka has had a patch in the season where he wasnt on form yet still crucial to arsenal.. foden has had periods of the season where he has been hot and cold also yet as it currently stands saka currently has 2 more goals over foden and 1 more assist. How on earth can you justify foden being the best player in the league when his stats say otherwise. Turkish is right.. putting foden at top is crazy.

There are 5 English players that can win the Ballon d’or this year.
Jude, Rice, Saka, Foden & Kane.
It is still possible for 4 of them to win their league and all of them could win the UCL.
If England win the Euros It’ll likely go to one of them.
Jude is definitely the favourite but to say that any of the others winning it is idiotic is an exaggeration. There is still too much to play for.
