Product Spotlight: B5 Systems Bravo Stock for AR-15

- Brownells Gun Tech™ @CalebSavant gives us a rundown on why the B5 Systems Bravo Stock is his favorite AR-15 carbine buttstock. You've probably noticed it on "Caleb's Hotness," the gray AR-15 that features in many of our videos. The Bravo stock is made of high-quality molded polymer with subtle non-slip texturing. But the first thing you'll notice about it is the large cheekrest area - larger than you'll see on most AR carbine stocks. It gives a very secure cheekweld, making the rifle more comfortable to shoot, with better control for more accurate shooting.
The lever for extending and retracting the stock has knobby surface texturing that gives you a non-slip purchase to operate the latch quickly and easily. You can feel the texture even when you're wearing gloves. There are sockets on both sides of the stock for pushbutton QD (quick-detach) sling swivels, plus two thread-through slots for traditional sling mounting.
Out back there's a rubber recoil pad with subtle non-slip texturing. The pad is just soft enough to grab your shoulder firmly, but it's not mushy. If you prefer, you can remove the recoil pad, and the polymer surface underneath has its own anti-slip texture.
You can get the B5 Systems Bravo Stock in basic black, Flat Dark Earth (FDE), Coyote Brown, O.D. Green, Wolf Gray, and even Multi-Cam. If you're a Heckler & Koch fan or just want something different, you can get your Bravo stock in RAL8000, that yellow-tan-olive color found on the furniture of some H&K firearms. The RAL8000 Bravo stock is available ONLY from Brownells.

My personal favorite general purpose AR stock
I'm a man. Hair grows on my face. Those of us with sizable beards know how aggravating it is for your stock to yank beard hair from your chin. I give B5 stocks 5 stars for beard friendliness along with the Vltor line of stocks. The magpul ctr ... not beard friendly, in my experience. Thank you Caleb for all you do.
This is exactly why Im getting this stock. Thanks for the heads up.
You missed the coolest feature, which is the hidden tool compartments under the butt pad. This was almost a home run. Haha
you sure that isnt the SOPMOD version?
The B5 is a great stock my my favorite is still the older but tried and true Magpul CTR stock..
All I have are B5 or the CTR stock. I like the locking part of the Magpul
Two solid stocks, it's hard to choose.
I prefer the B5 Enhanced SOPMOD stock, but this is still a solid choice. I do like B5's products.
I have a knockoff enhanced sopmod on my 15 22, and a bravo on my AR, and I can't tell much of a difference in cheek weld honestly
Is there any advantage other than the compartments? Im debating both of them.
@@kylehill4437 The enhanced SOPMOD is wider which, for me,, reduced the angle of your head when getting a cheek weld. I prefer that as it allows me to line up with the sights and/or scope easier, faster and more comfortably. See if you can find one on a rifle somewhere so you can try holding it to see if you like it. I have a Bravo model as well but I like the wider enhanced SOPMOD better. Both are great at the end of the day.
I've been using "BRAVO CO." GUNFIGHTER.
This B5 stock has really clean lines, and looks a little lighter. At 59 yrs. Old, I'll make things as light as possible. I'm still in extremely good shape- but I'm also almost 60. May have to upgrade.
😂 Nothing was “heavy” until I hit 66. Now I’m beginning to count ounces.
I have a B5 precision stock on my MK12 build and I love it. I'm going to put a B5 stock with storage on my other AR. Just waiting on some paperwork.
Can you do a product review of the new Glock Performance Trigger please? Basically the pro AND cons. Great job guys, appreciate ya'll.
Sure can! I'll look into it.
My B5 Systems has enough spring tension on the latch to where it has not been a problem yet. Some of my other M4 style butt stocks have come unlatched when using a support hand or a support at the rear of the butt stock because of a weak spring and latching mechanism. Magpul puts the latch lever just under the cheek rest on most of their designs which reduces the likely hood of inadvertently unlatching the stock.
True, but you can use a ranger band over it as well to prevent this
The qd slots are also anti rotate. A small detail but one I appreciate.
Caleb: "Go look for yourself..."
Me: Goes to Brownell's to see that the image for the RAL8000 pattern just says "Coming soon."
Your April Fool's joke was posted 2 days too late ;)
I enjoy my BRAV0 FURNITURE. VERY STURDY, NO CRACKS, carries a lot of weight hanging off the M-Lok.
Ironically I got one recently to try them out. I’ve only had Magpul SL stocks, I must say that I like the B5 much more.
Almost anything is better than the mil spec stock
Almost
And we're spoiled, because a mil-spec stock isn't completely horrible.
No way
The knurling running off to the edges makes the wafflestock terrible.
M4 mil stocks suck ass.
I have one in their coyote brown color as well as their grip and trigger guard. Quality and function are great and I get lots of compliments on the color. As far I the grip I like it too I’m just slightly salty I had to pay $10 extra dollars to get the plug that goes in the bottom bringing the price to $30 when Magpul gives you the same thing for $20-23
great content great review: to tell you the truth, I would like to see B5 systems make a minimalist stock with a nice cheek weld. Kinda Like the Mission First Tactical Battlelink minimalist stock, but with the wide cheek weld
If you want something a little less bulky, but with a good cheek weld, check out BCM sopmod mod 1.
Absolutely love this stock!!!
I have 2 B5sopmods and a B5 bravo. Great stocks. Good cheek weld.
I'm trying to decide between the two lol, I might go for the cheaper one first to see how it feels.
For some reason I have a feeling this guy is mad cool in person😅
I have B5 stocks and grips on all of my AR platforms. The sopmod (swinger) stocks was a great idea.
The milspec grip and stock are so great to start with I don't understand why anyone would ever "upgrade" 😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆
Best AR stock ever
For me, the B5 bravo and Magpul SL are tied. I love them both
I WISH these were sold in a multi cam color!
they are
Is there a video on slings?
Just like your preference in MI we use the same stock...
I got my first B5 stock from MI i'ld say about 10 years ago give or take...they weren't really know yet and Troy, the owner of MI, recommended it so I got my first...pretty much all my ARs and my AK have this stock...my AR-10B had the B5 SOPMOD stock...
Also I hate to admit it back then I wanted a quality alternative to Magpul stocks...
My fav
Stonks!
I’ve only used the Original LMT versions. I always had to cover the top hole with duck tape to keep my mustache from getting caught in the hole.
There is no picture of the RAL8000 on your website as of the writing of this comment 😅😅😅😅
Would love to see a vid on the ones with storage!
Filmed it, it's coming soon.
@@CalebSavant Very nice! Thank you Sir.
I love my bravo B5
Seems like a decent stock.
I removed the lever on mine. Really don't adjust it. And was thinking of putting bolt and nut in pins place to make it non adjustable and permanent. But law didn't happen. Also taped half the butt pad up to keep it from snagging cloths.
I have a Troy Battle Stock with the same shape cheek weld and a spot with steel QD mounts and two storage areas, with two spots for AA batteries and a large spot for whatever.
My favorite also.
How did you know I was looking at this stock at 4:30am this morning?????
Haha I was just looking at these on Brownells last night
Was gonna put one these on my not yet sbr
Does that stock fit snug on a mil-spec tube? Like Magpul moe SL does.
Yes
Does this stock rattle around like some of the Magpul stocks, or is it completely rock solid like the BCM stocks?
photos are missing for many of the B5 systems RAL8000 i'm not sure if one is diferent than the other and your multicam pics change color from one item to the next so i'm not sure whihc is the real "multicam"
Tried to look at it, but no image yet for the RAL8000 color.
My favorite is the Magpul CTR...👍🏾
There's no pic up on the site yet for the RAL 3000.
Only wanted to know how well these fit onto the carbine buffer tube and if they are loose, tight, in between. I cannot stand a rattly stock and its not even mentioned. Glaring oversight.
Magpul is best !
Hi, I have 2 glock 22 gen 3 I conceal carry IWB and are my home defense guns. I use 180 federal tactical law enforcement HST and 180 Speergolddot ammo as my primary. I switch it up. I've rented an AR-15 and shotgun at the range to try but didn't care to much for them. Is glock 22 .40S&W good enough for self defense and home defense? Do I need an AR-15?
I heard the B5 Bravo and SOPMOD stocks are ideal with the Vltor A5 System with the longer tubes…fact or fiction?
I would say fact. I'm very curious to use this exact setup. I have the B5 but need the A5 system. And it's what SOLGW uses on their blasters.
Definitely fact - I've a VLTOR a5 tube with B5 Bravo. Collapses all the way in.
The ral8000 picture is not there. “Coming soon “
I bought one in person in Grinnell, in one of the blue bags, but mine didn't have the qd point. I was wondering if there was anything to the bag color and the presence of the storage tube. Mine was a bundle with a daniel defense m4a1 upper.
Yes, it sounds like you bought the milspec version. That one does not have QD.
Good stock, not a fan myself. I prefer some type of guard to stop inadvertently extending the stock while manhandleing the rifle during drills, belly crawling through brush and mud, tunnels etc.
Exactly when are you going to be doing all that, dude?
@@TheCrusher72 hog hunting in Everglades and I have about 100acres of woods in the middle of my pasture that I screw around in. It's not perfect but it's a work in progress. My advice, buy land, it never goes down in value and if you search you can find 1000acres for what many people pay for a good condo.
@@briankopp1369 I have couple acres…. I just kind of walk around it, though…
The multicam version of this stock is hydrodipped and will fade in time?
A rock for a stock is more conformable than a mil spec stock
B5 or a Magpul with the libsaver grippy butt pad. Only two stocks with a damn
Nothing, and I mean nothing, no other stock beats the Magpul ACS stock. It is hands down the best there is out there. Minus one exception, if you are intentionally building a rifle to be the absolutely lightest possible and you've got out of your way to get carbon fiber, titanium etc. Related parts to shave off ounces anywhere you can. But shy of that, there is just no other stock out there that can compare with the quality, the cheek weld, the storage, the strength and the feel of the Magpul ACS. It is just unbeatable. It's lighter cousin the acs-l isn't bad either
I was told you could fit batteries or whatever in it but you had to take it off the tube and access the chamber inside the extension hole. Is this possible?
On the enhanced* sopmod it is possible, yes.
Thx daddy
gay
@@timrobinson6573 they also own guns, yes.
You're welcome
Anyone recommend any stock pins I’m in CA
RAL8000..... The closest thing to that color that I have ever seen is.....
Baby poo from breast milk..... Compared to formula and cereal, it doesn't stink.. 😉
Caleb probably wouldn't know about that though.
Oh I know, I have 3 kids lol
I bought one and it was wobbly and broke. I sent it back and got Magpul SLS
I went with the SLS and have been wanting to switch to the B5..... You've handled both, so which is your pick? SLS because the B5 broke, or because it's superior in your eyes?
👍🏻👍🏻
Why not provide a link to the item on your website?
YT does not allow it.
@@brownells That would be a good reason.
💹 options...
can you put cr123a batteries inside or 18650 baatteries inside?
Sixth
B5 is ok I guess. AR stocks seem to all work the same in my opinion 🤷♂️
RAL8000 = Coyote Brown
So its basically an LMT stock that wasn't priced by a drunk and high corporate employee.
Barbershop awareness:
don’t sit in the chair of the barber with the ‘cool’ hair-trim, the other
barber (with the un-cool haircut) is the better choice.
as they cut each others hair.
Another AR system video... Unless you're willing to spend $$$ in an AR platform, a good bolt rifle will match the accuracy for well under the price point. Very tuneable.
It’s pretty simple to make an accurate AR. Good trigger, decent quality lower, thermal fit upper, quality turn down barrel, free float handguard, and that’s it. As long as it’s all in spec it’s about 700 bucks max.
