      Did SawStop sponsor you with the saw or did you purchase it yourself? Either way love your content and enjoy what you build.

      What happened to the Ridgid table saw? I'm not focusing on the Sawstop, instead I'm wondering if the Ridgid worked out for you. I have the same saw and I'm curious as to why you let it go. Remember the question is not about the Sawstop being better or its features.

    This is a great idea. I have the same Rockler table saw sled and it's great for when I need it. But its big and bulky so it is a process to get it up on the saw and back off if I'm doing different things for a project. I can totally see making a small sled like this as it would be handy to have right there and be able to get on and off the saw quickly when I need it. Thanks for making this video!!

    Hi, I'm late to the party, but great video! I didn't scan all the comments, so this may have been mentioned already, but if you disable the SawStop Brake, it automatically resets when you stop the blade. Mahalo, Ron.😎🤙

    This is a great idea, and this crosscut sled would probably be more useful for a majority of the DIYers out there that doesn't own a full size tablesaw. I'm going to bookmark your link in the description for a future build as soon as I get me a tablesaw!! As always, AWESOME VIDEO and IDEA!!!

    Thank you for this video, it is a simple design and build for me to understand and learn to make . I love how nice and clean and tidy all your work spaces are which not only makes it pleasant to see but you are teaching people to be safe in their work environment. I have seen a few videos where some peoples work areas are so messy and they look unsafe where they can trip over tools etc. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge with us, it is greatly appreciated.

  • @Marrio49
    @Marrio49 Před 5 lety +1

    Just a couple of points: you should square your miter gauge to the slot in the table providing that the blade is parallel to the slot to begin with. There are several videos on CZcams that demonstrate how this is done accurately. There are several accurate squares they can be purchased to check accuracy. The Kinex 4033-12-010 on EBay for $15 bucks is great for the money. Try to do the 5 cut method. Again you can find this method on CZcams. Hope this helps.

    Just a heads up, I have a sawstop too. It's a Smart Bypass System and will automatically turn itself back on to the normal safety state if you disable it for a cut.
    Which means, yes, if you were cutting a lot of metal or wet wood, you'd have to disable it every time you turned it on to make a new cut.
    Just the video I needed for the cross cut sled, love your channel. I made your floating shelves already :)

    You can't "forget to turn it back on" on a SawStop. Whenever you power off the saw after running it with the disabled safety feature, it reactivates itself automatically.

    Not to be the safety-police, but in the beginning you use the miter guage with the table-fence. Invitation for kickback. Love the idea of a compact crosscut sled, tho.

    • @dannyoktim9628
      @dannyoktim9628 Před 5 lety +1

      I saw that too and said to myself, U can do that? Then my brain kicked in, ok, I'll have to try that! I'm a young woodworker that just got my first table saw and I think you're the most talented skilled CZcamsr out there. . . thanks for the tip.

    • @markwhitis
      @markwhitis Před rokem

      Yeah, and that's the type of kickback that causes a putations as the wood piece can pull your hand into blade. Iter gauge or not, crosscutting pieces that are wider than they are long (in direction of travel) is a recipe for them to wedge between the fence and blade diagonally which will cause the blade to spin and throw the wood, pulling your hand into the blade in the process. Thintz12 "kickback on camera" has some good footage of a kickback pulling hand in, narrowly avoiding bloodshed.

  • @gnt256
    @gnt256 Před 4 lety

    love the fact you can drop the sled in without having to take the screws out. did that miter gauge come with your saw?

  • @martinw4261
    @martinw4261 Před 5 lety

    That looks handy. It'd get a lot of use when you can't bring yourself to haul out the big sled but don't want to "just eyeball it".
    Why do you want the Ttrack closer to the middle? Is it to shorten the distance between the track and the vertical fence?
