- The Conservatives officially secured a majority in the Commons after winning more than 326 seats and Boris Johnson told staffers that the Tories now had a "stonking mandate" to deliver Brexit.
Labour looked set for its lowest number of seats since 1935 - and Jeremy Corbyn announced he was going to stand down as leader following a "period of reflection".

1 hour and 59 minutes in Bercow is finally called out in regards to his "Plotting" with opposition backbenchers to frustrate the wishes of the people in implementing Brexit,he was doing what we thought he was doing all along,appalling behaviour,it must have broken his heart to have to quit politics,he knew he was going to be voted out and jumped before the people had the opportunity to vote him out,he avoided democracy until the bitter end.
Little did the people know what they really voted for.....
At that time, the only thing people cared about was Brexit. In their interview, they voted for Brexit and they wanted Brexit

I always think that the constituency with the speaker as their MP is a bit short changed. Perhaps the Palace of Westminster should be a constituency in it's own right and that is the speakers seat. S/he is automatically returned to parliament so his former seat then gets a full free choice in future elections/by-elections

My immediate English ancestors were from Cornwall (late 19th century), so I have some interest if not relatives there. I heard why there was a delay in the St. Ives declaration, but why so late for St. Austell, Cornwall SE and North Cornwall?
It seems the counting in Truro was very slow.
Some of the villages in Cornwall are in quite remote locations so getting the ballot boxes to the counting cenre will take time. The ones for the Isles of Scilly have to be flown in to the count and due to bad weather this took time hence the long delay for the St Ives count
Reminding us that this happend a few days before Christmas yippee...
