    This reminds of growing up in the hood when I was in middle school. One day after school I was riding my bike to the store and their was a parked bike outside the liquor store and as I passed by I accidently cliped the bike and it fell over, just my luck the owner of the bike happen to see me do it and he also happen to be the gang leader of the biggest gang in our neighborhood. Few minutes after the incident like 20 guys showed up to my cousins house were I was hiding. they were looking for me to beat me up, my cousin told them I wasn't their they didnt believe him but eventually they all left. The next couple of days I got a hold of a small .25 caliber handgun and was carrying it to school and everywhere I went because I was scared for my life. A week later the 3 main guys looking for me were shot and killed, it's sad to say but a huge weight had been lifted off my shoulder. And thinking back I'm glad I was never put in a situation were I was forced to use my gun, who knows how that would of turned out!! Much respect!

Even though it's not exactly Boyle Heights, I know what he's talking about and you can tell he's speaking from his heart. Much respect for this guy telling his story - really entertaining and likable. I'm happy for him turning his life around. You really can't make this stuff up.

That said I wish the clip had been funny. I had my wife watching it with me in hopes that she'd buy us tickets for your LA show at Novo on the 21st, but after that clip, nah.

      Is father Doyle the founding father of Homeboy Industries or something? I didn't know who Homeboy Industries are but thank God for them even if they had only saved Philipe it would've been worth it. But sounds llike they take care of underpriveledged mixed up kids before they are too far gone to want to change. God Bless these men working in the trenches..

    Why does the audience look so damn awkward in all of these videos?

    • @Allagi22
      @Allagi22 Před 7 lety +58

      Here's the true answer: It's the way the stage is set up. The only audience we can see is BEHIND the comic. They have to listen to the comedy while watching only the back of the comic. Makes zero sense to have an oval stage unless you have more than one camera and the comic turns to speak to the whole audience. They look awkward because that's a super awkward way to watch stand up, sitting behind the comic only seeing their back while they talk in another direction. Really dumb set up by the show.
