This is a gem! Been tryna figure out why my mix sounds clear and the levels are good but it just sounded too harsh for some reason even with some top end EQ and wasn't sitting in the beat properly. This is bout to change it up! Thank u!

Nice vid bro. I personally feel like too many people forget to low pass their vocals before adding compression. Its a underused technique that helps reduce harshness off the rip.
facts, ppl get used to hearing it bright and feel like they're losing too much highs if you do anything to tame it, especially if they got demo-itis 😔

@@boimesa8190 i dont think ive seen many. Just try it with your initial eq. Cut off the highs until the sizzle or harshness goes away then add your brightness back around 6 to 8K before compression. Gives a smooth top end. Especially on low budget mics

Can you do a full vocal mixing tutorial?
The problem I have with this is that the sample you used isn't harsh. That is a mixed vocal so how can I even tell if this would work on a REAL harsh vocal. I mean it's free so it can't hurt to try it but I'm just saying this example may not be the best demonstration of the plugin. Sure it took out some brightness but that's not the same thing as harshness.

Seems like it does a little bit of dynamic de-essing too. This is pretty nice. Can you use this on a monitoring chain, or does it introduce a lot of latency?
EDIT: Tried it out - 0 latency even on 8x oversampling mode.
Hey, can you give me a small explanation as to what oversampling is? I never seem to grasp the concept from other people. Like is the plugin working 8x as hard?
@@Itsyunlo Oversampling typically doubles or quadruples the internal sample rate of the plugin. Typically this helps prevent aliasing from digital distortion, which can introduce unwanted and unintended frequency resonances to your mix. That being said, doubling the sample rate internally also increases the CPU load of the plugin since it's sampling twice as fast.. so sometimes you have to make tradeoffs. Highly recommend checking out some Dan Worrall videos if you want to learn more!

Pls after finding my plugging on pluggings update, I tried applying it but it turned off my cubase, I am unable to apply it.
Vocals not really harsh though but for this particular music which is chill and lush it was appropriate
eventually A.I. will eq things and mix and master things the way we want to the point we won't need to mix it ourselves or master it i know people get pissed when i say this but fuck it all I really care about in the end is have it sound like a song and a hit basically the end product is all that matters

Hi there... I've experienced a bug of some sort.... when I move the 'wet' control in the plugin, my mouse-arrow disappears and I have to force-quit Garageband. I don't know whether anyone else has mentioned a similar problem. Shame really the plugin looks just the ticket...Jim.

Where you put it in your chain is up to you. I suggest trying it in different spots and picking whichever you think it sounds best. Theres no one answer in mixing tbh
