You talking first time, I'm saying everytime I hop in I get a step bigger
Perfectly said, I was GENUINELY just thinking this in my head. Was thinking of my brothers who are very new to production. I'm trying to show them ways to step into it without overwhelming them and then thought of how far I have came. That videos like this didn't appease to me and didn't make sense 6 or 7 years ago. Now they're the missing puzzle pieces I need to get the sound quality I want. Instantly subscribed to the WAV man when I found him. True GEM.
This video is a life-saver. Kudos for the very easy to understand tutorial.
Love content like this. Quality tricks with audio engineering. 💪
LeBeautiful makes beats??? Could you post some of your leglorious music pieces??
I've had this tool for years, it does a great job.
love your excitement man!
dont stop, we need more content like this ^_^
This man is a blessing 🙌🏾 🙏🏾
You out here changing lives with this info
Okay then, I’ve seen enough to sub and like this. You definitely locked in bro. Appreciate the content!
Good, you always make me happy ❤️
Thank you for helping me!
Yo those vocal presets are heat my boi
My boi back 🔥
Love this plugin
bro i just randomly bought a vocal template for pro tools and im just finding out YOU MADE IT you the goat
OMG…I’m glad he’s back🔥
Really good tip right here💯💯💯💯
Really good trick that isn't talked about a lot on youtube, great video! The only thing I would change, is that I would compensate for the input gain you're driving into the clipper. Louder always sounds better, so compensating for that gain makes it a more even fight.
Actually you can just limit and compress individual elements and then push it into the limiter. This isn’t unknown to do
@@jzilla_grudgegang You're right I started doing this a year ago and it really works. I just don't see it being talked about a lot on youtube
You The Man Bro Good Info....
You gotta post more my g 💪🏿
SUCH A GAME CHANGER
Finally find someone thats make sense 😢🔥
Thugger Thugger The Wav Man 😅🔥🔥👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
In fact, pro L2 is a soft clipper, followed by a compressor. Attack time separates the clipper section from the compressor section, which uses release time.
There's nothing wrong putting a clipper like IK's one before Pro L2 ! But thinking this way, you can set Pro L2 before Pro L2, tweak the first one and get the exact same results.
If you, like me, always find these shitty IG sheets where they say "put two limiters in chain", or "use clipper/limiter/limiter/clipper"..etc The point is the same : clippers in chain, where you'll get more subtle results putting one before the other.
It works fine for modern genres, although I encourage using different techniques too : tape saturation to round transients, real limiters (=vintage ones, think Neve limiters)..etc
Great video, and always interesting topic
limiters in chain is actually a good technique as long as you put different settings, if you just copy paste it its pointless
What would I do without you brother? 👏👏
What up Ach , hope you make more videos we miss you man.
thank you
Was good fam. I’ve been using t-racks for a min along with the L2 and I like how simple you explained this process in your video. Just recently I switched up the L2 for smart limit by Sonible and the results were crazy. I’d love to hear your input on that. Great video!! 💯
can u use just the soft clipper or u suppose to use both ?
@@fuckwizop I use both
Take a look at the stuff made by NewFangled Audio
it’s crazy how’s their a lot of ways to master bro like you just have feel it to you’re likening but using fundamentals and your craft hahah
Do you compress before clipping? Smart limit is legit.
I personally do not recommend the T-racks Soft clipper, it does something weird with the low sub freq around 40hz and lower (it rolls them off without telling you, you can check in any frequency analyzer). The clipper going into the ProL2 is a good practice though, I've had fantastic results with this. StandardClip is better imo, and it has more oversampling :)
I personally tried the trial version and couldnt get it very lower. Im using the usual garageband to mix with some wave plugs and also plugin alliances limiter mainly. Sometimes I put the garageband home limiter in between and it made more of a loudness job than this clipper even knowing that a clipper and limiter are differing but still!
really can’t hear the diff though when the music is playing overall
Yeah I noticed that
Bro thank you so much
very informative video
TheWavMan is back!!!??? Missed you bro hope everything is going well :)
I always learn something new when I come around...
That track hottt
Hey Bro! Thanks for the videos. Just a question. Regarding the LUFS, what are you thoughts on the mastering settings? I noticed your true peak is -2db, but the target was -24 for LUFs. I've just been using my ear of course and the WLM meter, but I upload to Spotify and other streaming services. I know there isn't a MAGIC number, but I'm leaning towards just listening to what sounds good. and keeping my TP at -2db.
Bro left and came back with buffs on🔥 Pls do a tutorial on parallel compression !!
you hilarious my guy!!
You just saved me!!!
Now I can continue with my music💪💪💪💪
thats what I do it for!!
THE WAV MAN MAN MAN
Yo sup bro Does this Master plug-in work and compatible with FL studio 20 also or if not do you think you can make another video about how to master your tracks free for FL studio
yesssss man
I'm waiting for your mastering preset with ozone EQ Dynamic fabfilter limiter 2,and fabfilter Saturn 2.or mastering with fabfilter plugins
This song is third degree heat man. Can't you make a tutorial on how it was processed from scratch to finish? mix and master? Was a two track used?
Which one is first? First the clipper, then the limiter or in the opposite?...thanks for all lessons
D biln thing thing I love ur work bro
could you do a tutorial how you get the vocals to sit in the mix cleaner.
What do you set your output for the L2 limiter before exporting. 0.10db?
You too much ❤❤❤
Man, I never knew that clipper plugins can help much better than a single limiter!
THE GOAT!
So at what point would transient shaping be an option because ive heard in some cases thats part of the process as well..
in Pro-L2 (and any different limiter) turn off True Peak Limiting, turn off Channel Linking Transients to 0%, and oversampling x4. This will gives you much more better results.
I use the same plugin, but i avoid the indicator turn red 😅 because if i dont it sounds good on my 600 buck speaker 200 bucks headphone but distorbs on earpods/phones/cheaper systems. Then run it trough a own made preset from a plugin called raizor in cubase to get it a louder or trough shape shifter wich gives it a little but great boost.
About to try this on a song I just finished this morning. Thanks for the tips mane🔥🔥🔥
Can I get these plugins he used fam?
Any recommendations on some good modern day reference tracks ?
Where you been mane 💪🏾
Bro u also made a mastering video.. I m just confused what's the difference with making Loud mixes with mastering or with this soft clipping method..
What was your headroom before you started the process? -6 -8?
Softcliper before or after the limiter? thanks for the video 💪🏻
before the limiter
🔥🔥
I like how well you explain thing bro. Not gonna lie though, I almost clicked off of the video from your intro lol. But I’m glad I stayed
Bro whick headphones that your using is it kn8400 or kns 8402 or sennheiser
Do you guys recommend me use eq7 band if u don’t have fabfilter ?
Is this song out? Wanna check it out.
How much do u charge to just mix & master songs?
I have a problem TheWaveMan.
I’ve installed Waves plugins but DAW is not showing up.
Please help me
Your back
Back as fast as he leaves
What name is your headphones? You can send a link, i need buy one
Can I do this for just beats without vocals?
Question. Is your ceiling set to -1 or -.01?
what's the song called??
Didn't think about it till now but it kind of emulates what an analog board would be doing to a signal when pushed into the red, it would round off the transients
Can you use this also in logic ?
is this plugin already in protools
he back
Brooo please break down this song from how you recorded, mixed and mastered to get the depth!!! We need that vid
How much do you charge for mixing and mastering vocals?
How do i fit my vocals perfectly in the mix and how loud should i record the the db matter? i new to all this
Reduce 2k-3k on your instrumental to create space for vocals. This depends on your voice though. Record at around -18db.
Bro you just can't have more views or subscribers because your advices are just too valuable and then everybody will be pro. I feel like you are the only one on the internet who really understand and can explain what to do. Man I love you
Some times having to many plugins kills the CPU not unless you have a powerful Core
What level do you wanna be mixing your vocals and bass I’ve heard -6 on bass and -12 db on vocals? So how do you bring back the over all volume do you do that through your master also would you put the soft clipper on the master bud so it’s added to the whole track thank you great post
An old analog guide is to set the bass at -12db, and adjust everything else too that...
Also... NEVER put any processing on the Master Channel...
Where u been at my boy
TR5 gang !!!!💫💫💫🐺
Hi, what about the true peak men?
Ay bro can you make a Don toliver Vocal mix???
Which daw did he use?
Why wouldn’t you put the plug-in in the description?!!!
WHERE THE PLUG IN @ ON THE SITE
name of song?
Stop playing with me. . stop playing with me..... stop playing with me 😂😂🖖🖖🔥🔥🎶🎶
Song name??
🙌🏼🇿🇦
I love your videos, although I make techno, house, edm, God used to help me. You are appreciated 🙏 Galatians 6:9
I mean I just feel like your squashing (cutting off the peaks) the kick which in turn make more room for the rest to come up. better mixing and compression on the beat does the exact same with more control. and you should be leaving room for the mastering stage. understand this is hard to do without stems tho. good tut tho
Q.lord should we add the soft clipper in a different mixer track after mixing the vocals or while mixing the vocals ?
Your pre amp. This is for mastering. You don’t record vocals while mastering simultaneously
Like Literally magic😅
mainstream music coming in kinda low these days, maybe oversaturation?
Who is the artist on the song I’m tryna send bruh beats ?
It's him in the song
Bro drop that song already
