Referring to Gabbie Hanna’s book as tumblr poetry is offensive to tumblr poetry 🤣
Yeah, tumblr poetry is sometimes good, whereas Gabbie’s is not.

it’s funny considering she actually stole some of her poetry from tumblr lol

Okay so hear me out, we all know Jack is an English Lit graduate, got a freaking FIRST like a boss, been a study tuber for like ...a really long time. Has a brand and business, had a podcast, wrote a damn book........ you get the sitch
But my dumb ass is still shocked that he can read so much in such a short period of time like what?? I struggle to finish a 20 page article for an assignment, yet he finished 4+ books in a single day 😭😭😭
I know right! It amazes me too. But I guess it comes with being a lit student
Angelique me too
He got a FIRST though???
@@vinzaid6008 fuck I confused that with Ibzmo, really sorry, lemme change that.
True but keep in mind all these books were written in very colloquial, simplistic writing, very dissimilar to academic readings which would take much longer

Honestly I can’t believe the bar is that low

Miranda's book has aged TERRIBLY
I was like:
How he’s going to read all this in one day...
The books:
Scrapbooks for teens
The Miranda Sings book is probably targeted at 7-11 year olds, not teens. Well it could be, but I have a hard time imagining any teens reading that,
Been liking your content a lot lately Jack. I appreciated your honesty in this one. When I write a book one day, I want your honest opinion on it!
Same! I'd honestly so appreciate his feedback. His perspective is very fresh but still backed by experience. I love hearing his reviews.
the only one ive read is the lilly singh one, back when i was a genuine fan of her. i can say definitively i remember absolutely nothing about it, and I think that says a lot. and for someone who writes about being a virgin in this book, she certainly ,makes a lot of jokes against them nowadays. cant say I'm terribly proud of who shes become, at least in the public eye
Zoe Thomas totally agree!!
It's sad how she has declined. Her content should have matured with her audience I feel
I feel the USA ruined her style lol, she was great when she was based out of Canada
i LOVE that book and it brought me a lot of insight and stuff that i still remember and refer to. just offering a different perspective because it's obvious that not only because some people dislike it/don't remember much that it is a bad book. it is genuinely a very good advice book imo (i didn't watch him talk about it yet, just stating my own opinion based on my read)

See, there's a difference between a book that was supposed to be good (Lilly Singh), a book that's supposed to be bad for comedic effect (Miranda SIngs), and a book where the author did not give a flying fart (Jake Paul).
Yeah, I think Miranda's book was probably bad on purpose, like a physical version of a video. People who buy it will probably like that kind of humor
I think the biggest issue with Gabbie's book is that she tried to make the poems way deeper than they actually are. Like, I don't care if you wrote a poem about sleep but don't make it about suicide to stop people from making fun of it.
I wrote a poem about a mug I liked a lot and my teacher thought it was about my fragility...now that’s how you do it
@@foxja1 Beautiful. This mug that you always use every morning represents your fragility and innocence really well. If this mug ever breaks, it will never return back, just like innocence. How poetic
It makes sense. She’s a horrible person, after all.
@@rachelciel3330 comments like yours is why i love jacks comment's section. in other spaces this totally couldve been turned into one of those 'lol english teachers overanalyse everything am i right" jokes and im completely sick of those
honestly, yes! I'd love to read an actual good poem collection, portraying simple, everyday occurrences, objects etc., as i'm a firm believer that beauty deserving of being showcased in poetry can be found anywhere, as long as you look. even ordinary things hold value to us, and with the right words you can show your readers just how much it means. life in itself is beautiful to those, who seek beauty. take sleeping as an example. everyone has different habits; some sleep with their teddies still, cuddling them tight each night, some cover their feet with covers, scared - even if their common sense tells them monsters don't exist. my point is, in simplicity lies beauty. and arguably, the best thing about poetry - everyone may interpret it differently. A comment in this thread talked about a mug. now as someone mentioned, you may interpret the mug as a metaphor to fragility. a fragile person like me may see it that way as well. another reader though may think it's about how even simple things leave an impact on us - a simple mug at first glance may mean so much to the person, which is a great opportunity to think about how we form certain connections with objects. a tall tree withering, to one person may mean someone strong at their breaking point, to another - sickness and death from old age. that's why i adore poetry. :)
i genuinely cannot comprehend how u finished so many books within one day.. im still reading harry potter and the chamber of secrets for months lmao
(i know you said this 5 months ago) but remember, these are mostly books with very little words, and if more words very easy reading! I bet you could read a couple of those in a day especially if you're doing a video about it
@@Lucia-ef9zd yeah, but harry potter is actually quite simple too and it takes me a whole day xd
Lmao, it took me days to finish harry potter and the philosopher's stone, mostly because I wasn't picking it up a lot, but now I'm just waiting for chamber of secrets to come because it hasn't come when it was supposed to come MONTHS ago.
Omg AHAHAHAHA. 😭😭😭

connor franta's second book "note to self" is SO much better than his first!

i tried to read that shane dawson book literally a few weeks before people started 'cancelling' him again and i thought the exact same thing. i legitimately felt sick after reading that part about date r*pe, that i had to put the book down. can't say i was surprised then with all the stuff that resurfaced about him lolllllll.
