- In celebration of the release of the all new Converse Cons x Hopps Collection, the Hopps Crew hit the streets of NYC with legendary East Coast film maker Josh Stewart.
Featuring: Jahmal Williams and Steve Brandi
Filmed and Edited: Josh Stewart
Music By: Joe Farnworth and Larry Wright - Sport
damn, Jahmal is definitely not slowing down ! The wallie over to 5050 was insane! Big up to one of best East Coast legends. Cheers also to Josh Stewart for always being there to capture the action and to edit in this perfect look.
Another awesome movie from Josh Stewart. No bangers, double stairs sw hardflips, energy drinks motivation, gold medals... Just nice skateboarders, nice vibe...and NY.
there was a switch hard though!
You know what I mean... :)
So where do you usually skate here in the bay? I just moved back to SF and am dying to skate something new, besides just cruising the hills by SFU like I do every night
Dude, I´m writing from Lisbon, Portugal... Hit the locals at DLXSF and ask for some skate spots; 3rd & army, Potrero del Sol skatepark, skating the streets or bombing hills like GX 1000 could be an option :)
@@patinhofeio9694 - hell yeah, thank you. I'm going by dlxsf later today anyways. Bombing hills here in SF is the best feeling in the fucking world, feels amazing to do again.
Such an amazing edit! The mood, the pacing, the skating and the music are on point. Love it!
Tom Georgoulias check Josh’ Static videos if you enjoyed this. Some of the best shit out there.
Keeping it RETRO style. LOVES IT!
nothing makes me happier than seeing my favorite skaters still killing it and still rolling hard after all these years, its very inspiring to see guys you grew up watching in the mid-90s still ripping, never give up and never stop skating no matter how old you get. I am 39 and still skate street as if I was 15.
Now I feel like skating
Literally why Josh Stewart videos are by far my favorite videos
This was sick! Straight out of the Stereo handbook, as well as some Eastern Exposure feel- nice job Josh! The skating is sick, Jamal still ripping!
wow! that's how you catch a vibe. so good! speechless
Mvp to the street song dude
I hope he got some Converse money.
Had to watch this again. If you've never skated NYC then this is definitely what it feels like. Skating is a lifestyle. Not a hobby or even a sport. Some people live it and some people just do it. No pun intended
Oh this just made my day. Yummy skating & beautiful video. So reminiscent of static iv/v which makes me happy.
2:50 is art. What a great visual.
Super dope! Hopps makes some quality deck's!
Sick raw street skating, great music, amazing editing. This is skateboarding !
Everything was amazing with this film!
This is why I love skateboarding
With all that nike/cons money, I hope the street artist got paid a fair share. Awesome edit!
he'll do it for free
That worked well so well together.. the drumming the skating filming ny everything
Sick Jamal is still bonkers .. haha bonkers nah good Hopps x cons people
Pure street art, love it.
Authentic and beautiful:)
This was sic!!!! It's unbelievable Jahmal is ripping the way he is...
Fuck, Jahmal wasn't playing. Much appreciated edit. Thanks!
This was excellent! about time i see a video in 2018 with great tunes in it. great job!
YES. captures New York so truly. josh this is FIRE!!!!!
Pure art right here... Amazing.
like the visual sound vibe
This was epic! I love this style of film!
Love the retro
That man made EDM with some sticks and buckets
Damn that was so raw I’m saving that
Refreshing to see this type of skateboarding. Shout out to all the independent companies coming up on the east coast. I honestly forgot this was a “converse” video.
Can we get a full quality download for this video? I need to enjoy the 16mm in it's full glory not in 480p compressed youtube quality, takes away most the magic ;(
Such a fun edit, great feel
I love this 🔥💗👋👋👊
✌️😗🍾🍸 a classic!
Amazing!
That was really good.
subway drumming was super sick!
Sick and sooo smoth

LOVE that shot at 5:24 big props to Josh Stewart on the overall editing as well!
Thanks Logan!!
Dope, j dubs still live, shoes tight too
Does anyone know where Jahmal lives now? What he is up to? I used to skate with him in between 1988-1992 in Boston. I remember when he used to do front side grab airs down the stairs at copley before he could even ollie. I believe he was riding a Santa Cruz Rob Roskopp during this time. I was so happy when I heard that he had turned pro. Great video!!!
Nice one jw
love it
Dope !

Increíble
lol we used to buy cons 350s in the bargain bin to skate on in the early 90s, ironic now cons are now skateboarding shoes funny that it came full circle.
So fucking good
Kind of a strange question for a skate edit, but anyone know where that jazz spot at??
We shot the jazz band playing at a club uptown called Smoke Jazz & Supper Club. But Jahmal discovered the group at another rad jazz club in the W Village called "Smalls". Thanks for asking, that's awesome that you're interested in that aspect of the piece!
thas fuckin' sick 6:31
10 out of alot
dope
The drummer of a visual sound Chris pastras part??
hahah exactly, was thinking about visual sound immediately!
what is the first song?
👍👍👍👍
Anyone know the name of the subway drummer?
His name is Larry Wright. He got some notoriety in the 90's as a young kid when Levi's used him in a TV commercial campaign. And he was also featured in the first Stereo video "A Visual Sound" in 1996. He's a legend! You can still catch him at Union Square on the L platform playing nearly every day.
.....*goes 2 skate*
This is skateboarding.
360p only
Pay pops a chunk of this money you're getting from skateboarding.
a beautiful mess
this filming is the exact opposite of legendary
