    Love your content. Underrated numbers. Please try to change your thumbnails and titles to something more spicy. Put your face on the thumbnails, something goofy. Don’t use product’s name on title and make the audience to click your videos.
    Example: These lenses cost $6.000! 😮
    Yes, I don’t like it this way but it works. Cheers!

    I got a set when they came out. Beautiful neutral lenses. They come out every shoot. Nice review.

    These nisi lenses offer a good value

    I’ve been using the original five lens set for a while, and yes the 14mm is a bit of an odd ball in the group (too wide etc. can’t wait for the 18mm to come in). But the set I expect to have for a long time to come. Seemingly well built (call me in 5 years) compact, perfect for gimbal work, ideal for crash purposes of all kinds, etc. It’s just that hefting standard sized cine lenses starts to seem ridiculous after working with these compact gems.

    Great review for these lenses. Like McDonalds, I'm loving them.

    Scott, nice review. But you’re incorrect about PL rear filters. The Breakthrough DFM offers 27mm of clearance and works with all Athena focal lengths. I own the Athena’s and the Breakthrough DFM and can confirm it all works. Similarly the Kipptertie Strata will work, but that’s of course bolt-on and for the Raptor only. The Breakthrough DFM is universal.

      I too own the Breakthrough DFM and tested thoroughly. If you attempt a full focus rotation on several of the lenses, you will find them bind up against the drop in element.

      I wonder if something isn’t right with your setup. I’ve tested from close to infinity on all five of the lenses I have here, and it works without issue. More to the point, I have USED the Athenas with the DFM on a daily basis over the past six months and have never once had a problem.

      @@nick_salazar Maximum flange depth for a PL lens to work with the Cinema DFM is 24mm with variable ND. All Athenas except the 14mm and 25mm exceed 24mm. If you are using straight ND filters, there is a little more room.

      @cogmission1 Před měsícem +1

      @@ScottBalkum Guys? So under what circumstances are these not working? Nick has a video where he demonstrates the DFM at each focal limit (with the variable ND) and there is no binding? I'm confused 🙂

      @ScottBalkum  Před měsícem +1

      @@cogmission1 I’m not sure what to say. I tried all of them and could not mount the 35-85 which caused me to check clearances with Breakthrough. I’m not sure who Nick is talking about on his video with being blocked. I certainly didn’t block him. That’s not my style. But if he tried to post a link in a comment, that would be prohibited by my channel rules.but he’s certainly not blocked.

    I've been looking for a FF 85mm and NiSi really has something good here, but I'm just not sure I like the flaring on these. The colours seemed a bit too harsh at points for me. It would be great to get a comparison to Meike's 85mm FF Prime which is in a similar price bracket, albeit ever so slightly cheaper.

    Great lenses. Unfortunately, I can't use them on my BM Pocket 6K Pro (Pl mount) due to the built in NDs getting hit by the extending rear element. I'm thinking of picking up a Pyxis just so I can use the lenses with my other cameras.

    Interesting look. 14 is crazy wide. The WB on your talking head looks a lot cooler than normal. Usually a bit warmer?

      @@ScottBalkum This looks accurate. Me, I go a little warm. 4400k indoors, 5700 sunny outdoors and 3900 high key kitchen type shots. I shoot in RAW LT so I have latitude. You have style.
