- The centerpiece of the exhibition, “The Annunciation”, was painted by Fra Angelico in the mid-1420s for the Convent of San Domenico in Fiesole, and is considered the first Florentine altarpiece in the Renaissance style, using perspective to organize space and forsaking Gothic archways in favor of more rectangular shapes. The Prado’s “The Annunciation” is today considered one of the artist’s first master-pieces in which Fra Angelico proved to know the transformations that were happening in the Tuscan art.
The generous collaboration of Friends of Florence and American Friends of the Prado Museum, with the Prado Museum has facilitated the restoration of “The Annunciation” and other works not held at the Prado Museum and to be included in the major exhibition opening on May 28th: “Fra Angelico and the Rise of the Florentine Renaissance”.

Gracias Ana por el documental. Extraordinaria exposición para un cuadro maravilloso.
Gracias , vídeos interesantísimos, y vemos cómo Fra Angélico o Davinci y otros contemporaneos a él tuvieron las mismas dudas al efectuar esas maravillosas obras, simplificar para no perderse en detalles , y al ver las radiografias o resonancias que bajo la obra final habia hasta tres originales más, porque en técnica pictorica y dificultad de detalles no se quedaban ni les era dificil, también es increible que al llevar ablanco y negro o escala de grises en las radiogradias la tridimención igual existe , es como si sólo hubieran apagado la luz o fuera de noche con sólo la luz de la Luna , maravilloso, sólo eso se puede refleccionar, gracia spor vídeos tan hermosos.
