kim warner Hi Kim. I, personally, don’t think a beginner should bother with gears AT ALL. Just keep it in middle gear, stay away from crazy steep hills (or walk it) and don’t pedal during steeper downhills. Not only is it a bit tricky to try to do it with one hand while riding, but it also QUICKLY changes the way you pedal and balance right away. So.... for a beginner - I strongly discourage using the gears. Later - no problem. Cheers

Could you make a video about shifting gears. Also do you think a beginner should attempt to shift gears?
