Ivory Layne is a fully-faceted, out of the box pop artist. Her story is a vibrant one, beginning as a dreamer in her hometown of Denver, North Carolina (the “Denver of the East”) and currently set in Nashville, TN. Her artistic vision could be caught on a vintage film reel. She caught the eye of Justin Timberlake who signed her to his artist development company, Villa 40. Though 2,000 miles away from Hollywood, Ivory Layne is directing her own cinematic life as a woman unabashedly dramatic and undeniably herself.

I did an Amazon Music search for the word "Superman" and was listening to all the found songs like they were a playlist. When this song started my ears perked up. When I heard the message in the lyrics I thought "wow, I have been that guy, just a weak human with flaws, unable to meet other's or my own expectations". Beautiful song.

This song reminds me of the movie High Society (or The Philadelphia Story, your choice). The Grace Kelly character hates the Bing character because she thought he was some ‘Superman’ and married him, then realized he was ‘awful’ and divorced him. But in the course of the movie you realize she held him (and everyone else) up to Superman standards which created extreme sadness in her life, as no one is perfect. Thank you, Ivory Layne, such a good song!

Sary Morales I'd say its both. She's understanding that she had unreasonably high expectations for him, but is also saying that he wasn't really who she thought he was. He put up a perfect front, but the facade was only skin deep.
