I live in chronic condemnation. Last night I flicked through the bible and landed accidently on Revelation 3 to the church in Sardis. I literally felt terrified that I fitted the conditions of my works being incomplete in the sight of God and that "I" needed to strengthen what remains and is about to die or else! Bas, your video is great, but I know the devil posing as an angel of light will remind me of a scripture that could challenge what you are saying, possibly even the scripture from revelation that I just mentioned.

I've been stuck in this cycle for a long time. This morning I rededicated my life to the Lord and was beginning the cycle anew. I have known for a while I was doing something wrong for a while but didn't know what to do but try harder. Praise God for letting me see this video! And thank u for being faithful and helping other brothers and sisters stuck like I am!

Bas, these videos are invaluable and brilliant. I think something needs to be said here: we often graft our abusive caretakers or parents onto our idea of who Jesus/God is. As such, we hear the voice of our abusers ("you're never good enough, my love is conditional") instead of the Voice of the Holy Spirit, Who says "you ARE good enough, My love for you is eternal!" May Christ heal us all!

I really hope you see this. I dedicated my life to God when I was 12 and fell away years later. I turned my back and fell into sin that I didn't even struggle with before. I was young of course and not quite exposed to all the sins of the world. I feel like I walked right into sin just as soon as I met it. Of course I know I wasn't perfect before, but as soon as I tried to come back to God, things kept happening against my favor and I began to feel cursed like what is so wrong with me? Then I read the passage in Hebrews 6 that talks about not being able to be brought back into repentance. That was a few months ago. I've been struggling with it ever since, whether God will take me back or not. Then every time I read the bible I find something that condemns me. I'm only 20 and can't imagine living with these thoughts for the rest of my life. I feel no hope

this is helpful! i am learning about finished works and it rings true but i still have a lot of questions. specifically from this talk: if all of our past and future sins are already forgiven, why did jesus teach his disciples to pray, asking god to forgive their sins?
Hi Anca, That's a very good question. Jesus did teach His disciples to pray to ask for forgiveness, HOWEVER, the people (Jews) He was talking to were not born again (100% forgiven), like you, thus we need to read Jesus' words through the finished work lens. Bas Rijksen i thought you might say that. thank you for the link. that little talk rocked my world in every possible way. it's a bit of a shocking prospect for someone who's been steeped in typical christianity for 30 years to contemplate that perhaps not everything that jesus said to his disciples applies to us today. the question is what to do next to satisfy this crazy hunger for the truth: keep devouring (maybe savoring is a better descriptor?) your videos (i have 6 of them opened in different tabs in my browser) or putting on that grace lens and going through the gospels to see what i find. you'll probably say that i just need to rest in the truth of who i am in christ. but unfortunately i'm still struggling. this believing business is hard work. i'm a difficult case, you see?
Anca Bonner Thanks for your response Anca. I agree, believing something that's so opposite to how we used to believe isn't easy and takes times (process of renewing our mind). You are, I believe, not a difficult case :) I'm in the same boat of you, but am just a bit longer exposed (a few years now) to the Gospel of grace. So what do I do on this birth certificate to start. Why do they throw you in jail if you say the ficticious name ? I'm not comprehending, why.
What do we do with the reborn dead names, on the straw to the account to surrender, the subrogation. Then attaching to father's decedant. Corner stone, middle name if they won't send it? And a paramount claim, and I have no way around. Oh boy. The things you speak, I have done. Now what do you mean? So just Do the ficticious name and transfer to for-given name. Well I've asked.
In your video u never share bible verses ... strange .. we see apostle Paul point to the Scriptures ..Paul said in 1 cor 15 : 3 kjv Christ died for our sins .. according to the Scriptures even Jesus himself said search the Scriptures .. John 8 : 39 kjv ..... show people the bible and what the bible says .. ... ... we must be good bereans going daily to the Scriptures acts 17 :11 kjv
I'm pretty sure he did-Galatians 2:20 his teaching is full of scriptural truth. It is the gospel of the grace of Christ.
