- Never one to leave an adventure bike stock, I've spent the last six months adding a ton of Tenere 700 mods to my 2022 Yamaha T7. I finally feel like I'm coming to the end of my Yamaha Tenere 700 mods list, so I thought it was good time to share what mods I've added to the bike so far and talk a little bit about how each of these Yamaha Tenere 700 modifications have been working out so far.
One of the most important mods is my Tenere 700 tires, and I'm in love with the performance of my Tusk D-Sport front and Motoz Tractionator RallZ on the rear. I've got a ton of awesome Tenere 700 parts from great companies like Touratech, Giant Loop, Seat Concepts, Rocky Mountain ATV/MC, Moto Machines, and A to Z Composites, and thanks to their help, I've put together what I think is a pretty sweet Tenere 700 build.

My Complete Yamaha Tenere 700 Mods List:
I heard that a chain guide is a must as if it comes lose it can crack a hole in the engine and swing arm guards because of the way the exhaust pipe routes next to it.
Definitely go with the high fender kit, just did a quick google search and it looks awesome.
Great Scott! Aftermarket parts are pricey! Ima have to prioritize for sure! Crash guards, skid plate, hand guards, radiator guards. Then probably panier and tail mounts, then bags/cases, then electronic mounts and peg mods. Then maybe replace the tires.
Just a couple of mods. Including a TV mount kit. 👍🤣 Resourceful. Thanks for sharing. I have used the quad locks for years without the damper and now the wireless charger. I never had an issue. JP1970 put one on his bike and wrecked his phone the first day.
The pannier rack in the back looks as wide as a Peterbuilt, it’s not a problem on trails? Guess I’m not ready to give up my KLR milkcrate yet. Hopefully there is nice top rack that will work in conjunction with the SC seat.
Cool video! Great mods. I happen to like the stock seat but to each his own. The windshield is something I've never seen and I probably need to get one. Not sure about the luggage racks with the massive soft luggage. It's amazing how far it sticks out. But 50 L per side is a lot of square footage! I've been running the stock fender for 11,000 Mi and have never had anything get stuck in there. I do have it adjusted in the higher position. Your bike is definitely a showpiece now. Thanks for sharing
Damn, I love the T-7. Thanks for the ideas.
Looking forward to seeing the high fender kit even though I don't own a T7. I own 2 KLX300s, based on your recommendations I bought 2 Seat Concepts Seats, 2 GL fender racks, a GL Rogue bag, 2 Pronghorn straps (so much more GL stuff I want but funds not available for now) a Garmin Zumo XT, and because of a previous video review I also bought D606 rear Perrelli MT21 front, and some Icon rain gear.
Hey there my internet riding buddy! I have owned my t7 for almost 2 years now and I have to say I still like it just as much as the first day I bought it. I would highly recommend the tusk rear rack that has allowed me to Mount quite a few things to the bike safely. I have also purchased a high fender kit I decided to go alt Rider as I like their look and it has a vent for the high-speed travel. Not sure if it works or not as I haven't mounted it. I think you should just go ahead and put the high fender on. That would be a great product review video for you to make in the future. Another mod that I did that I highly recommend is the Scotts steering stabilizer. That thing has saved me from a few falls off road and also has made me feel more comfortable at higher speeds off road. One other mod that I did that I highly recommend if you are tall as I am 6 ft is the pro taper adventure bars. Now when I stand up I am not all hunched over and it feels way more natural.
You mentioned the rear brake feels 'vague', the new Camel ADV rear brake "fix" gives it a much better feel (closer to a dual sport/dirt bike). Highly recommend.
I just got my Tenere last week. I’ll be referencing your video a lot, thank you!
An anti-glare screen protector is a MUST for the Zumo XT. It’s a game changer.
Also would add a steering damper if going to tackle heavy duty rots/trails
This is my unicorn adv bike. Someday it will be mine.
I would say if you haven't had trouble with the stock front fender yet, don't change it
High fender always✌ no matter what the internet says...err wait we are on the internet 😭
It needs for me to take it for a ride!
I have footage for the same video from my T7, but l still haven’t edited the video and uploaded. A full time job keeps me from spending much time editing.
I have 10k miles on my T7 with a tusk high fender kit and I ride it like a freakin hooligan on a gsxr. I’ve never once felt the front fender catch the wind anywhere from 0 to 115mph. I personally love the look of the high fender, but I wouldn’t stand behind any realistic and day saving benefits other than aesthetic preference.
