I think Seluvis is merely a puppet of Pidia, its when seluvis "dies" that Pidia gets attacked by the puppets hes caring for. I think Ranni knew he was trying to betray her and kills pidia on her way to her two fingers
I think the puppets around pidia were seluvis's, but pidia thought they were his. And when seluvis dies, puppets around pidia are free to kill him
@@Dunwolf_ yeah that makes more sense to me. A, I think Ranni would know if Seluvius was a puppet, and B, Seluvius dies first, which wouldn't really effect Pida if Seluvius was just a puppet anyways.
@@Cman04092 Ranni knew you were trying to puppetize her and she didn't do shit until you act on it. And with one spell outright kills ya.
She doesn't act on Seluvis/Pidia based on the very same principle. They are still useful to her and in truth can't harm her even if they tried.
Do remember that she's one of the potential successor of Marika, an Empyrean. She's actual 5head with legit magical prowess to back it.

Another thing that I never see mentioned anywhere: The voice actor for Pidia is completely unlisted. I THINK that they are the same voice actor (Pidia and Seluvis) I DO NOT think that it's a coincidence that Pidia is unlisted. FromSoft knew that people would sleuth out that connection, and I think that they purposefully wanted to leave it open ended.
It was really frustrating. I was on my way to his rise after Ranni’s quest line, only to find that he had already been killed. I can’t believed they robbed me of the satisfaction.
I once killed him myself only to find out it means I failed the questline. bummer
I never did his questline. So I always just assumed that Blaidd realized Selivus was a traitor, kicked down his door and fed that nerd one of his own potions just to see what it would do.
Blaidd continues to be the best boi
This is also given more evidence that as you’re going down the big hole after killing Radahn Blaidd leaves a message in front of it saying “I would join you, but I’m currently hunting a traitor”
Either Blaidd figured it out on his own, or Ranni suspected Selvius's betrayal and sent Blaidd to do it.
i don't think Blaidd killed Seluvis. He's a simple man, he didn't even know his part in the Ranni's grand scheme . So while i agree he is the best boi, but he's honest to a fault best boi. such a pure boi don't deserve all the pain😭
There's a message Blaidd leaves at where the stars crash into limgrave after beating radahn that tells us he will meet us soon he's just taking care of a traitor
One way to eliminate Sellen as a suspect would be to confirm that you can complete her questline and either kill her or let her become a Graven Mass and Seluvis still dies
Went like that my last run: killed her for the quest (and Jerren too, afterwards) and Seluvis still "dies" as usual.
Same thing with Gideon, you don't give him the draft, seluvis still dies
@@alias9236 Gideon already had problems with Seluvis before you give him the draft.
@Linkrocks2010 what's gunna make seluvis slump over like that unless, One: he gives him a draft, or two: he has been a puppet the whole time, I like the possibility that Gideon might know who his puppet master is and takes him out, the idea there's a big player somewhere else is intriguing
@@alias9236or he was fed his own potion and become a puppet.
I know a lot of people like Ranni, but the whole game I felt like we were cleaning up her loose ends
It really feels like Ranni's questline is more or less the purpose of the game (in some semblance at least). You can of course skip all of her questline if you so choose, in which case you are essentially ignoring her potential completely, or you can be a critical part in ensuring that her plan (that started long before you came into the picture) sees fruition.
Curiously enough, when she rewards you the inverted statue in order to access the rest of the area, you’ll find a godskin, wielder of black flames waiting for you there, guess you were one of the loose ends alongside Iji and Blaidd
Given that if you try to administer the potion to Ranni, she INSTA-kills both Seluvis and the PC, I think it stands to reason that after you give Ranni the fingerslayer blade, Seluvis probably panicked and tried his devious plan in final desperation. He sealed his own fate by attempting treachery against a dark moon witch. Whoops.
I'm pretty sure that is not true, after all, you can continue Ranni's quest after using the celestial dew, and she doesn't kill you unless you ignore her warning 2 times.
Seluvis only "dies" after Ranni leaves the tower for good, since there is no way to continue his quest and fromsoft needed to end his story somehow, but I wish I could confirm this for myself, it just takes too long to start a new game and reach that point lol.
See, I've thought about this... when we find his basement, we find his storage of puppets, all hunched over on their knees, head slumped to one side. When Seluvis "died", what pose is his corpse in? The exact same one as all of his puppets. And what happens to coincide with the "death" of Seluvis? The rebellion of the Cuckoo puppets against the albuinauric Carian puppet master. The question isn't "who killed Seluvis", it's "who killed the puppet master pulling the strings of Seluvis", and we know the answer to that question very well.
Theory #2: Seluvis' empty puppet pose could indicate that he was "killed" with his own concoction as a form of ironic punishment
@@xkidgey, oooh, that's actually not a bad point!
As the video mentions, iji also dies in this pose, so the pose isn't exactly proof Selevus is a puppet himself.
@@esperhunter7263 the name of his body in his shop is puppet
My theory is a little bit out there, so bear with me here - but what if the real puppet master is Ranni herself? What if her spirit is in control of Seluvis the entire time her own puppet body is asleep? What if Seluvis' mustache-twirlingly evil persona is just Ranni playing with him (and you) like a doll?
Think about it: what if Seluvis' whole scheme of getting the amber starlight was just Ranni testing your character all along? She knows she's in no real danger. She's just having a little fun with you, to see what kind of person you are. I think that fits her character, and in a way I think it adds to the subtle romantic chemistry between her and the player. It's obvious that the amber starlight scheme isn't that big of a deal, since you can just ask for forgiveness at the church of vows and she'll forget it ever happened. And if Seluvis is one of Ranni's alter egos (like Renna), that would make the names of the rises at the Three Sisters all consistent.
Also, consider Finger Maiden Therolina, who is revealed to be Seluvis' puppet. If Ranni was puppeteering Seluvis the whole time, then that would mean Ranni herself was there alongside you at the Radahn festival in the guise of Therolina, to honor her brother and give him a proper sendoff.
When Ranni returns to her body and awakens, Seluvis becomes instantly deactivated, whether you help him with his scheme or not. That's what seals the deal for me.
It's definitely not a perfect theory (the whole backstory between Seluvis, Gideon and Dolores is probably the strongest evidence against it), but I think it makes for a very interesting interpretation of Ranni's character.
Sometimes you have to shake the Erdtree to see what falls out.
If an NPC said that in this game I think i would die
Imagine the runes I get by shaking the haligtree and everyone there dying of fall damage
I think Blaidd killed him in the impact crater that leads to nokron the eternal city there is a message he leaves for the player saying he was going after another traitor.
This is a pretty good theory. I never did find out who that second traitor Blaidd spoke of was
I really like the format and the presentation of this video! You make it really interesting and easy to follow.
Servants aren't the same as allies. It's rational in older ideologies to have a servant, trust them co.pletely but not be willing to treat them as an equal.
Great video had me hooked beginning to end 🕵️♂️
Its me, I did it. There is no corpse to be found in my world. I absorbed his runes with great pleasure
Just a thought, Seluvis has glintstone on his bell bearing. He knew Sellen and about her body swapping magic. He was a competent sorcerer, enough to threaten Ranni. Most puppets don't seem to have personality, but Seluvis did. If Pidia was the true mastermind behind the puppets then Seluvis could be willingly bound by his magic into his service in exchange for an immortal puppet body, but as a subservient agent that could control or even make more puppets on his own he would be incredibly useful. It would explain why Seluvis goes limp when Pidia dies, but also has his own voice and character unlike other puppets. Seluvis's primal glintstone could perhaps be his encrusted bell bearing itself, only lightly crystalized when compared to a first rate practitioner like Sellen; an indication why Seluvis might need Pidia to maintain control of his puppet.
That's a very solid theory.
Thank you for this. I absolutely love your content
Although I like your videos this one seems pretty clear cut it's Ranni. Once you give her the fingers slayer blade or the potion, he is dead. Nothing else triggers his death that I know of. She knows he's a dirty man planning to betray her but uses him for his ability to provide her puppet body, now that she has the fingerslayerblade she no longer needs him or his puppets. Also if you attack him he shows he is very capable of defending himself, but Ranni has shown she can instakill you with ease after you try to apply the potion, she wouldn't need to poison him. Sellen went to him to set up her back-up body, but hasn't been back in a long time since he finished it. Pidia dies as you approach his location AFTER you trigger Selevus' death, so their not same person, and clearly too weak to be the killer, can't even escape a few puppets. Blaidd would have killed him as soon as he knew he was a traitor.
Been waiting on one of these, W man
I love the music, thanks for this👌
This was very cool & fun to watch. Informative on Elden Ring lore as well as entertaining. Thank you so much for posting and sharing. Looking forward to more of your content. And yes, I've subscribed to your channel.
I don't think he was ever really there or "killed" personally I think he was using an exact copy-puppet of himself from afar so he could be safe but at the same time it's weird that even as a puppet if you hit him he vanishes away
Wow, what a video. Excellent job, dude. Keep up the good work. 👍
I definitely get the vibe that Pidia has been the puppet master of Caria for some time, and either was a test all along with his Amber Draught scheme he knew wouldn’t really work to weed out disloyal tarnished, or he’s actually disloyal himself to the Carians and wanted Ranni as his own puppet. The whole time using Seluvis, a puppet, as a guise. As long as you don’t give Nepheli the potion, you get Dolores from Pidia on death. This puppet was originally in Seluvis’ collection, and somehow ends up in Pidia’s after Seluvis “dies”. So yeah, definitely Pidia whodunnit. But the real question is why and what does it imply? Is Pidia a stout defender of Ranni who schemes up a plan to catch unworthy tarnished? Or is he just a creepy ass dude trying to capture Ranni?
When you come back to Iji with a Sentry torch, you can see fallen Black Knives around him too (once hes dead).
I think the most obvious implication is that Seluvis was a puppet all along and Pedia was the one controlling him. When Seluvis "dies" his pose is that of a puppet, and at the same time we can see that Pedia's puppets have rebelled against him and killed him, thus turning Seluvis into a lifeless puppet. On top of that we have a ton of evidence suggesting that Pedia and Seluvis are the same person. Their very similar voices, the fact that you can get the map for the amber starlight from Pedia, him having Seluvis' puppets when he dies, calling the puppets that attack him "his puppets" meaning he wasn't simply a caretaker for them...
The only problem for this theory is that Seluvis seems to have his own personality, which wouldn't make sense for a puppet, but this could also have a simple explanation, Seluvis might just be Pedia's real personality, an avatar that he uses to act and feel superior to others, since his real identity is that of a frail old creature.
The other most plausible theory is that Ranni turned him into a puppet as a punishment because she foresaw his plans, but I don't think that makes much sense because Ranni isn't a hostile person. She even lets you live after trying to give her the potion and will simply vanish if you attack her. It doesn't make much sense that she would waste her time turning him into a puppet, especially considering that Ranni is a person that wouldn't have a problem allying with evil individuals as long as it would advance her plans.
Pedia is too weak too be the killer, albinauric legs that can't even get away from a couple puppets. Selevus shows he is quite formidable in strength as an opponent when you attack him. Ranni shows she can instakill people when you apply the potion made by Selevus. Had to be her
@@esperhunter7263 you are missing the point. No one killed Seluvis, Seluvis was just a puppet, and when Pidia dies killed by his own puppets he simply loses control of Seluvis, who crumbles into a lifeless puppet.
@@KingOfMalevolence thats a weird assumption, that Selevus would just coincidentally die only when the knife is given to Ranni, why would he die for no reason but the other puppets didn't? Pedia is not dead when Selevus dies so you can't say it's cuz pedia died
@@esperhunter7263 Puppets only move when someone is controlling them. The implication is that Ranni severed Pidia's control of the puppets then used them to kill Pidia himself. The Seluvis puppet is in the puppet prone state because nobody is controlling it. The Cuckoo soldier puppets attack and kill Pidia because Ranni has finally gained what she needs to kill her two fingers and follow the dark path of the Empyrean. She was always aware of Pidia's treachery and Seluvis' true identity but allowed the charade to go on due to his usefulness. Her parting gift for his duplicity was to use his own puppets against him.
@@esperhunter7263 Seluvis dies when we give the knife to Ranni because there is no way to continue his quest after that, and fromsoft needed to end his story in some way, which is why Pedia's puppets rebel against him and kills him, thus "killing" Seluvis as well, so yes, it is pure coincidence.
You also can't ignore Seluvis' death pose, which is that of a puppet. No other NPC dies in that pose, and the only characters we see in that pose are puppets, and that heavily implies that he was a puppet all along.
Also even though Pedia isn't still dead when Seluvis dies he is getting attacked by the puppets and in the process of dying, so he could have lost control of the Seluvis puppet the moment he got attacked.
I thought selivus was a puppet connected to the merchant in the manner.
puppets cant talk, selivus might be a puppet when we find him in that slouched state but he definitely wasnt one before that
@@blargminton um... have you ever met Ranni? Pretty big oversight there.
@@ordanse5261 ranni and sellen are exceptions due to one being a demigod possessing a puppet and the other being a puppet with the elden ring version of a phylactery inserted into it. they dont count since they arent being used as 'puppets' but as 'bodies'
@@blargminton Eh? Why's that? What's special about the demi gods? I killed all of them. Along with the elden beast. Waiting for a DLC that lets me smite their god.
In fact, Ranni killed her body so she wouldn't be a demigod anymore, because she didn't want that god to have control over her, so she's actually not. She's just a really strategic mage.
@@ordanse5261
1. Apart from the extreme power, instakilling, swordswomanship? Oh, not much.
2. No, she killed her body to not be an *empyrian*. Presumably, she was chosen by a set of 2 fingers to succeed Marika, which is the role of an empyrian. Other empyrians were Malenia, Miquella, and Marika herself. She's still a demigod
Man this is a good goddamn question. I figured I just missed a piece of the story. I come back to his tower and he’s just slumped on the ground.
Love that Dexters music was in this video
Selivus is a puppet under pidias control. Pidia is killed by his puppets and then Selivus becomes inactivated. So in reality Selivus is not murdered its Pidia who is. So no one has murdered Selivus.
What other puppet has a voice and their own personality?
Selevus dies when Pidia is still alive, as pidias death doesn't happen until after. You hear his last moments as you approach his location, which is specifically after Selevus body is found
“Who do you think is the most vile in the lands between? Dung eater, Gideon, Rykard, or Seluvis?”
…
Cough cough Shabriri, cough cough.
Good work, detective!
It was Boc the Seamster.... no one would ever suspect it, like the butler in Clue
I saw a theory that the black knife assassins were bodyguards for Iji and Blaidd hired by Ranni. Because of Blaidd going mad he killed the assassins who were there to protect him just like he tries to do to you. If you never tell iji about the fate that Blaidd met then iji will not die. But if you do then he does, so it could have been iji just accepting his fate in grief for Blaidd.
Seluvis doesn't like the player's tarnished because he sees that this tarnished is controlled by a puppetmaster (the player), and thus realizes that he he himself could also be controlled by a puppet master himself.
I think you overlooked strange but actually most plausible (in my view) scenario: Seluvis killed himself by turning himself into his own puppet. Or the body he used was already remotely controlled as a puppet and he simply deactivated it. Why? So he would not face retaliation from Ranni after his scheme failed. Here are the arguments:
1. You can safely discard Blaidd, Gideon and Sellen as suspects because it is possible to finish their quests before even meeting Seluvis.
2. Death (?) of Seluvis is triggered either by Ranni learning about the scheme after you tricked her or after she leaves her tower. Meaning that Seluvis's death (?) is caused by some event that has to do with Ranni.
3. Nothing in the narrative suggests Ranni knows how to make a potion. Nothing suggests she knows about a scheme if you don't poison her (no evidence she learnt about a scheme on her own and took revenge). Nothing suggests that Ranni is capable of physically or magically assaulting Seluvis by forcing him to drink a potion. It is also not in her character because she is a cold-blooded sociopath, not a sadistic psychopath. Narrative shows repeatedly that Ranni is pursuing her goals in efficient manner, she would not waste time with melodramatic revenge, she would just kill Seluvis and move on.
4. There is no evidence to suggest that Pidia controls Seluvis. If that was the case then it would mean that somehow for no reason Ranni's departure activated Pidia's puppets, which makes no sense.
5. Seluvis is not a puppet of Ranni because he tries to make her a puppet herself.
6. There is no sign of any struggle at his tower. None. So it not only excludes assassins and Iji, but strongly suggests there was no assailant in the first place.
7. Narrative suggests that it is Seluvis who knows how to make puppets and potions, not anyone else.
Circumstances of Seluvis' death (?) limit the potential suspects to two names: Ranni and Seluvis. But Ranni has no means, no opportunity and no motive, according to the narrative (headcanon and "what if" are not evidence). On the other hand, Seluvis has all three. By pulling Ranni on Ranni and discarding his own flesh to control his astral form (puppeteering himself) he escapes death at her hands, even though it means he loses access to his other puppets, which are stored by Pidia. Which is kind of ironic when you think about it and meshes with the themes of the game better.
Doesn't ranni say she made seluvis have some of his own medicine if you try to administer the potion he gives you for her
Yess, I was thinking of Ranni the whole way through!
L.A Noire reference is just so great bro
The real question is who beat me to it?
Random fact; I used to sell cars to ‘Selivus’ (Charles Dale). It’s nice to hear so many Welsh voices in Elden Ring
Lol, Dexter song in the beginning caught me off guard.
Great video man. 👍
Let’s be honest; the only people who do Seluvis’ quest do it only for the puppets and the magic scorpion charm
One curious thing: Most merchants in the game and many, many NPCs can be attacked and killed. Even Ranni - hell, even *after* you give her the ring.
However: You cannot attack Pidia. There is a non-attack area. This is really, really rare. And Pidia is not relevant further… curious, no?
Also, its Pidia from which you then can buy Nepheli or the other puppet, if you administer the potions.
Edit: Iji might not have been killed by BKA, assuming the black flames around him are intentional. Black Knifes cause a red-ish flame as effect. It reminds rather of Godskin Apostle’s.
Either might be under Maliketh‘ will by now though (BKA being in front of Marika‘s Bedroom; Gloom-Eyed having been defeated by him).
Even then; Blaidd turns mad; Iji removed his helmet; thus allowing the Greater Will to take influence.
In the end, he seems to have chosen death, by what he says and how he sits.
He didn’t seem to have died fighting - but there‘re still dead BKA around…
Black Flames surrounding Iji really struck on me after fighting the BKA in Altus. Thanks for pointing it out because i still don't get why.
Ranni makes puppets also for example her own, maybe pidia and seluvis were ranni puppets until she gets her blade to cut the strings.
It was me. I killed Seluvis.
I wanted his neat wizard hat. It fits perfect.
It's either ranni or the black knives because of the bodies near blaidd
I wonder, why is the finger slayer blade, sword if Milos, and the sacred relic sword made of spines? And what corpse was used to make the finger slayer blade?
Maybe rethink all the tonal inflections. I know you’re going for a mysterious narration but it doesn’t sound natural and distracts from the otherwise entertaining dialogue. Great video overall though man I love the lore in this game
So looking at this after some time, I'm going to say that I think Gideon is actually the more likely killer UNLESS you finish Seluvis' quest and give Ranni the Amber Draught.
If you do that, Ranni kills you and probably Seluvis as well. But under any other circumstances, the evidence points to Gideon.
First, as some have mentioned, Seluvis is likely just another puppet - not made into one, but just IS one that Pidia uses to interact with the world. Pidia is an Albinauric, and seems to be losing use of his legs; he needs Seluvis as a "face." It also lets him get closer to Ranni for his ultimate goals. This also is suggested by in-game factors (Seluvis clearly has a "thing" for his puppets, and Pidia mentions the "bliss" they shared) and out-of-game ones (the two characters share a VA, and their voice lines are even bundled together. It's possible Seluvis as a man was a puppeteer as well, but he's likely been Pidia for some time.
Second, Gideon has motive. He hates Seluvis over Dolores being made a puppet. Further, if we give Nepheli a potion, he has added reason to want to kill the Perceptor.
Third, Gideon is a master of multiple forms of magic AND a spymaster to boot. He could easily have eyes on the manor to alert him to Ranni's departure - and the removal of her protection over Seluvis/Pidia. And, he easily could learn how to use the puppets.
And fourth, there's a hint in the rewards. After Pidia dies, his body gives one puppet - either Dolores or Nepheli, The reasons Gideon hates Seluvis.
Iji didn't die to the black knives though, the fire on his corpse is white death flame, that flame is used by death birds and godskins.
Blaidd says when we go to Nokron that he just has to deal with the traitor and he'll be along shortly in a message near the crater, then by the time we get out of there Seluvis is dead and his puppets on the loose.
I’ve wondered if Selevus was the one Ranni needed to imprint her soul in the doll (puppet?), which would explain why she would associate with such a sketchy dude.
The real question here is:
Who is the real puppet master?
Some questions that need answers to answer that are:
What's the link between master and puppet? What's the process for making the potion? What exactly are Starlight Shards? Who was Seluvis in the grand scheme of things?
Finally, the real question here is: Seluvis was either a puppet already, because he definitely was afterwards, so if he was a puppet already, who was his master? And if he was puppeted afterwards, WHO did it to him?
One thing that was overlooked for Ranni being the culprit is HOW she kills the player for betraying her.
She uses an invisible instant kill spell that DOES NOT cause any environmental damage. So anyone who gets hit by it wouldn't show signs of a struggle.
Also as she uses it on you it also hits and "puppets" Seluvis at the same time despite the distance. So Ranni was probably the killer and was always planning on doing it.
Hence why Seluvis gets turned into a "puppet" regardless of if you betray Ranni or not.
Pidia isn’t an albinauroch because he has red bloodstains, but i do think Pidia is Seluvis. Also, some extra information, Igi says a powerful spell defeated the cuckoo knights and the cuckoo knights are the blue phantoms that are summoned to fight you. Plus, given Pidia’s location he would see you and be able to summon the blue phantoms to fight you once you left the site of grace. So it would seem to me that the puppet cuckoo knights are loyal to Ranni, or Carian Royalty, and Pidia was just taking care of them before their true mistress ordered them to end Pidia
There are different generations of albunaurics, some of them bleed red.
i just found out blaidd did kill him before diving into the big whole to go into nokron city theres a specter message from blaidd that he had to deal with a traitor so yes blaidd did it
Ranni while not a puppet, is a doll, she may have knowledge on puppetry as Seluvis does, as she planned to inhabit this body to carry on her schemes after she immolated her old body. Thus it wouldn't be out of the question she was privy to the puppet potion, and somehow had Seluvis take it when she went off to slay her 2 Fingers. Gideon is also off the table because you can choose to not let him know anything at all concerning Seluvis. The fact he dies the same way if you try to betray Ranni gives me the impression it was indeed her who kills him normally in the questline.
Could been the black knife assassins. Once the finger slaying blade was given it could have pissed off the black knight assassin, just because we don't see any of their copses around Seluvis doesn't mean they weren't trying to since do you really think he could kill them unlike Blaidd. Thus I could have been Ranni intention by using others or the finger slayer knife has some impotent and it was just a consequence.
Iji wasn't killed by Black Knife Assassins, he was probably killed by Godskins, or maybe a Deathbird, based on the flames - either blackflame or ghostflame. i think the BKAs were probably on his side, since they're allies, or maybe they attacked him because Blaidd killed some of them (his former allies) when he lost his mind...but it almost definitely wasn't BKAs who actually killed Iji
Blaidd definitely didn't kill Seluvis, considering he's in gaol during his death.
i always assumed it was Ranni basically for the same reasons you outlined
We already know it was Colonel Mustard.
I wonder how much we miss of the story and lore because of mistranslations, if even an entire ending(the Ranni one) is so bad translated.
Clearly it was ranni, after you betray ranni, if you talk to her, she would explain what happen to seluvis, talk to her a second she will be warn u to leave and insults you, the third time well...
Wasn't godwyn murdered on his knees in a similar fashion in the opening cinematic
Iji and blaidd get black knife guards, iji gets black flames from godskin assassins. Seluvis has no black knife assassins, ranni hated seluvis/aka pidia because ranni knew pidia wanted revenge. Ranni used pidia/seluvis to get a big and small body to avoid fate. Ranni knew what it would do to iji and blaidd so she hired black knife assassins to try and protect them, blaidd goes feral kills them iji wants to join blaidd removes helmet, godskin find him. Simple
I assumed Blaid after he went mad
Makes most sense Ranni turns him into a puppet. When Seluvis gets turned into a puppet the manor is still under Ranni's control and protection so it's unlikely that someone who isn't welcome there would have access to Seluvis. The black knives don't show up till after and are unrelated to Seluvis. It would also be more than reasonable to think Ranni has the power to control puppets, turning them on Pidia.
That person is me. I did the minute I seen him to get his hat and mask
If Seluvis were forced to drink his own puppet potion, wouldn't that be done by Gideon if you gave him the potion?
Marika is curiously in a crucifixition pose but it is quite neat that it could be interpreted more accurately as a puppet on the Elden Beast/Ring's strings. There are many "puppet masters" in Elden Ring it's a subtheme that goes untalked about
what if seluvis drunk his own potion to play dead?
First, can we point out how stupid seluvis was to
A. Try to decieve an extremely smart witch with magic
B. Give a potion to someone who DOESN'T HAVE A PHYSICAL BODY, his plan to puppet ranni was doomed from the start
But yeah i think ranni prob killed him after he betrayed her, she mightve even used his own potion against him, which would be hilarious
The potion doesn't take control of someone's body, rather, it ties fates together. Granted, Ranni has effectively severed the ties of fate herself by killing her own body, so we don't know, it could go either way
@@genericgorilla Then why is his death pose the exact same as the puppets? I feel that's an obvious hint.
It was Blaidd during madness who killed him
I really liked Sellen. Still disappointed that was her end and there isn't a good end to her quest line.
If you let her take over Hogwarts but never find the sorcerer in the cave at Sellia, she should stay there. She's my fav.
So it should be easy to figure some information out based on what we have.
Is Seluvis just a Puppet of Pidia? It doesn't matter if alter ego or sorcerer who wanted to become immortal in a puppet body semi-controlled by Pidia.
Just go to Pidia when Seluvis is still alive and kill Pidia.
If Seluvis still stands afterwards, it wasn't Pidia who killed him + Pidia isn't his "Puppet-Master".
That would only leave Ranni and Gideon.
I personally always though Gideon did it. For one because I really like Gideon despite his actions in game and because I could see him being able to turn Seluvis into a puppet without the use of force since..well...aside from the player character he's most likely the most versed sorcerer in the entirety of the lands between, and even though he doesn't seem to care for his daughter...like, at all - it would be an action of direct disrespect towards Gideon to try and make his own daughter a puppet.
He doesn't seem to be the emotional type, but even if you're not very emotional, you can still be p*ssed off over being disrespected.
i think it's simpler, if you can figure out who wanted iji killed then you too will find who killed seluvis.
as for seluvis being a puppet, it's probably likely that he simply did what sellen wants you to do and transfered his soul to a puppet long ago and so when he dies there's only a puppet left behind.
and also who helped ranni transfer into a puppet aswell? most likely seluvis because without seluvis she couldn't have transfered her soul on her own, and so seluvis was an integral part in killing godwyn because without seluvis ranni would be left without a body.
so what do we know? iji is killed but there are bodies of black knives assassins around him, so presumably someone who could command black knives, and we do know that ranni was a part of the coup against godwyn and godwyn was also killed by black knives, but what would ranni gain from killing iji? nothing, so the other question is, who else had the capability to command the black knives assassins? who was rannis big accomplice that wants her dead?
if you can unravel that, then you probably will find out who murdered seluvis, seluvis was after all loyal to ranni enough to not let her disappear into the ether at the assassination of godwyn.
It was me. I was the Liurnia Psycho all along.
I legit don’t know how I damn near finished rannis quest accidentally sacrificed melina and then did frenzy flame ending I swear I must have been asleep during my 120 hours of this game lmfao. I don’t recall ANY OF THIS the lore is so goddamn deep. But I’m glad I got frenzy flame these characters are all weird as hell and traitors
Blaidd and Igi why were they murdered by ranni????
pidea is seluvis's puppet master and the ghost cuckoo knights in caria manor turned on him probably because of ranni
Ranni can be found at mohgwyn palace?
Impatient tarnish 8:17
I’m gonna say it was Miquella.
Haven't watched this video. Don't need to. I know the answer posed in the title and thumbnail.
A hero. That's who.
I’m writing this bc I just picked something together unrelated to selevus. What recusant killed lanya? We don’t see any abductor virgins or any other recusant near. Exept we dox Raya the scout was there and they are at “war with the eardtree” so maybe lanya was loyal to the golden order and raya killed her
IF IF IF Empyrians have a 'Shadow' like a Wolf-Beast, where are Malenia's and Miquella's?
for real though isn't it because pidia was killed and stopped controlling him?
Idk man Ranni is pretty unemotional when it comes to betrayal as you'll find out if you try to kill her
We aren’t finding out to incriminate who killed him, rather to congratulate who killed him
Seluvius, such a creep it creeps me out to wear his mask
It was me, I did it. And I'll do it again
But why is ranni in moghwynn palace?
And the black knives are apparently black smiths 😭
Blaid
Before watching, I'll say that think Blaidd is the killer, having found out Seluvis's plan to backstab Ranni.
darn.
I think it was Sellen
i did it, i ended the dolly botherer.
My money is on..... SIR GIDEON OFFNIR.... THEEEEE ALLLLL KNOWING!!!!!
Lol. Ithaca being pronounced as, "I·thah·kah" Instead of, "i·thuh·kuh."
Think seluvis has always been a puppet, and we don't know who actually controls him
Great video! Also rip bozo 😎
you won't be missed
He made me do it...
RANNI
